Gurfateh can anyone tell me what unis have good gurmat orientated sikh societies? I.e. ones which have regular keertan, simran, gurmat discussions, etc. not unis which have sikh socs more into social/ punjabi events. thank you. Gurfateh

Its a long story, but in a nutshell. Im missing my home. I grew up in the North of the country near manchester and moved to london 5 years ago. ever since I have never felt at home in this city. I feel like I dont fit in. I have still got my northern accent. And well I just feel like a stranger here. the people in the south are not very friendly and have made fun of my accent ect. I have struggled to make friends here and feel like moving back. Because I just feel I dont belong here. even though I am still in the UK London and my home town are worlds apart. Its like moving to another country. I just feel that I am in no mans land.

WJKK WJKF I am an amritdhari girl and have started to grow facial hair that I am embarrassed about. I am 17 and go to a school where there arent many sikhs and those that are don't practice and dont understand why I dont remove it. I get looks from class mates as everyone including most guys pluck and shape their eyebrows. I have thought about trying it as I have seen many other amritdhari women who have done their eyebrows, but havent as my mum would be disappointed and I'm not sure how my strict Gursikh family would react. I’m a teenage Amritdhari and noticed I’ve started to get really hairy ears and long nose hair. It’s really embarrassing and I hate it. People have commented about how much hair I have on my earlobes to the extent I want to get them waxed off. It’s not even about what people say, I find it looks disgusting and I can’t even hide them well with my dastaar. I’m considering getting the hair removed from my ears and my nose hair trimmed. But then there’s this issue with going pesh. I know the hair will grow back again but I’d get them removed again. I just hate the look of it and find it repulsive when I look in the mirror!

SSA, all I’m looking for the Sikh demographics in Birmingham I made a website that has lists of all organizations that can help such as sikh awareness society ect. That will educate Sikhs about grooming issues. And I wanted to hand leaflets out to Sikhs/Hindus on the issues of how to prevent grooming ect. Its not a leaflet about anyone one community and does not mention Muslims or anything like that. It just has helpful websites to educate issues of bullying/grooming ect. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well. -

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
