  2. I completely agree. True story: Years ago I asked a younger Sikh why he wasn't paying attention to his studies and spending so much time watching excessive amounts of TV or just bumming about (N.B. He was a chardhi-kala young Singh and as far as I knew, he wasn't a "bad" person). His exact words were "What's the point, man? When Khalsa Raaj comes on earth innit, we gonna run tings. I ain't wasting my time reading a book and studying". The problem was that he wasn't averse solely to western education, but the poor fella didn't even know much about Sikh history. Like you said above, most of what he knew was to do with the 1984 situation, etc. He looked the part for sure but apart from that, there wasn't much going on upstairs. Some of our youngsters are using Sikhi as an excuse not to do anything. I don't know where this thinking has originated from.

  3. I think that it is a myth that some races are more martial than others. I believe that all humans have two arms and legs and that anyone can learn how to fight. I feel that one problem that some Sikhs suffer from is that they think that all they need to be good fighters is anakh, warrior spirit, or aggression. Sometimes this is reflected in their language, when they specify that they want to 'die for the panth' or sacrifice themselves or become shaheed. Clearly this kind of mentality exhibits a great deal of bravery and commitment to a cause, however, this is not the mentality with which battles/fights are won. In fact, many races, that do not share the Sikhs' enthusiasm for shaheedi and warrior spirit, do much better in street fights than many Sikhs do. We as a community should not be under any illusion about our vulnerablilties. In fact, we are more likely to survive, if we recognise ourselves as vulnerable and weak and organise our strategies around that concept. I think that we put too much pressure on ourselves and try to act like we should be able to fight sava lakh, despite doing no training. .. then we get all surprised and shocked that not only can we not fight sava lakh, but we cant even fight one-on-one. Why not just accept that we are no different to anyone else and have to put just as much time and effort into self protection as any other race/community. Regarding martial arts training, you need to be specific about your goal. Take my example, I train mixed martial arts, for the purpose of fighting in the cage and fight other guys one-on-one who have been training for the same purpose. In fact, fighting in the cage has been the culmination of about 12 years of experience in martial arts. In my case, I train for sporting purposes, and this does not necessarily translate that well to other areas such as street fighting, modern day battlefield etc. So, if you want to train for sport than recognise that you are doing that. If you want to train for the street, then the focus needs to be street martial arts. I recommend Krav Maga or other combative systems such as Urban Combatives by Lee Morrison or FAST defence. These are small curricula that are easy to learn and dont require many many years of training. Lee Morrison often states that if he cant teach you technqiues that you could go out and use effectively on the street in ten minutes, then you need to find another instructor. These kind of small combative systems were taught to soldiers in WW2 when they only had a few days training to learn how to fight hand to hand combat. One such manual of hand to hand combat can be found here: It is called Get Tough by WE Fairbairn and shows the kind of unarmed techniques that soldiers were taught before being sent to war: http://www.tsroadmap.com/early/tough.pdf One thing I would suggest when finding a martial art is that there needs to be an element of pressure testing in the art that you choose to persue. If you dont get to try your techniques out against a resisting opponent trying their best to stop you, then how will you make your moves work in a street fight? In that respect, thats why many sport martial artists such as boxers and wrestlers do better in street fighter because they are used to employing their techniques under pressure and against a resisting opponent. As an anecdote, I have a friend who learns shastar vidya from Niddar Singh who got into a street fight on a bus with several white youths. Whilst he did ok, he didnt do brilliantly and didnt use any of the techniques that he had learnt in the classes. Why? Because he never had the opportunity to pressure test his skills under the influence of adrenaline and emotional anger that you feel in a street fight when you are in a proper fight. That is why FAST training where you get to employ your techniques under pressure against a fully padded opponent are so important: If you train in sports combat, the advantage you have is that you will be used to pressure, adrenaline, fear and competition, ie fighting someone who is also trying to beat you. If you train street combatives or other martial arts then you need scenario training and full contact drill to simulate what a real fight feels like. Alot of people knock gatka and say that it has lost his martial sting. However, I bet if you put on protective equipment and used foam covered gatka sticks and went full contact, you would quickly learn what works and what doesnt and, as a direct consequence become alot more 'martial'.

  11. Firstly you have ignored my comments about the black cats of the movement...maybe you unaware of who they were and what they did...KPS Gill said if it wasnt for these black cats..then khalistan would of been formed...secondly about the example you provided above...it would be righteous to kill the evil policemen...i cant name one jathebandi who would of supported killing of innocent family members..maybe you should read up on the jeevan of the numerous kharkoo jathedars...the babbar khalsa jathebandi even went as far as saying...if a babbar kills a innocent..then he should be executed!...you cant put the crime of individuals on to the whole organisation...one bad apple within the movement does not represent the majority of freedom fighters....for example an american soldier kills an innocent family in afghanistan....the individual will be at fault not the organisation(united states army).....But what you also got remember is its a WAR!!..innocent people die...you cannot name one war in history where innocent people have not died...even during the khalsa - mughal wars....i provide with a recent example..singhs of the KLF tried to ambush Gobind Rams police jeep (this dusht raped many bibia, killed many gursikhs in his custody, <Edited> in a bowl and told gursikhs to drink his new amrit instead of sri guru gobind singh jis)...Gobind Ram was wounded in this attack, but his son (who was innocent) was killed in the crossfire... If he killed innocents he cannot be khalsa fullstop...NO KHARKOO JATHEBANDI HAS SUPPORTED THESE ACTIONS Its funny you would mention banda singh bahadur...babaji razed sirhind to the ground...massacred much of the population who in his eyes were not innocent because they allowed the execution of the chote sahibzade to take place..anyway back to the topic...all those you mentioned were shaheeds..however you forgot to mention shaheed bhai avtar singh bhrama, shaheed bhai gurjant isngh ji bhudsinghwala, shaheed sukhdev singh babbar, shaheed gurbachan singh ji manochal, shaheed bhai anokh singh babbar..and countless other legitimate shaheeds of the khalistan movement... When did i claim shaheedi was black and white... Arent we all.... lol

I think the bad apples your refering to are the black cats the punjab police used to destroy the movement from within....there is no such thing as a pakhandi shaheed lol...its easy to be a pakhandi sant...its extremely difficult to be a pakhandi and become shaheed...no fakester wants to die at the end of the day...no one is perfect..even the shaheeds who we glorify were not perfect..but they are on another level from us because they gave their blood for the kaum..and any singh or kaur who gave their life for the kaum..regardless of what you think of their actions..should be respected..

  25. Instead of directly asking her, be more mellow and phrase it as a question. Start talking about the 5 Kakkar and how society is changing and how they still serve a purpose but its in the grey area. Don`t point fingers and say some are not keeping this kakkar or that kakkar, just dance around it and eventually, she will give her opinion on the kakkar she feels really strongly for and not touch on those that she does not keep because this may lead to her having to disclose if she keeps it or not. But thats when u ask more specific questions like what do you think about kirpan? Move slow and don't rush into discussion one kakkar too fast than the other ones. I say save keeping hair uncut as last kakkar discussed because the more you wait the more she will get anxious and feel uncomfortable or do something drastic to end the convo if she doesn't keep her hair uncut. Just so no one get me wrong. All Kakkar are important and none of them are in the grey area.

  26. Look around a Gurdwara and all you see is grown men and woman or youth that are on the path of Sikhi. I think the Gurdwaras should hold a open question period targeted toward youth. If the question period is done at the Gurdwara, majority of the youth won't come because they are scared to come in and ask. They have guilt for some of the mistakes they have made and feel ashamed when they present themselves before Guru Sahib. So to avoid this discomforting feeling, it should be done not in Darbar Sahib. When there questions are being answered in a open space, where they can ask for clarification on answers if they don't understand the first time. Questions like: What does it mean to be a Sikh? How to practice Sikhi? You can say honest living, selfless service and meditate, but all these have different meaning for everyone, so a clarification on these would go along way to fixing problems the youth have. How to incorporate Sikhi into your life? I think this one is huge. If the youth can get a exact answer to this question, then they can let go of many faults and focus on Gurmat. More questions like these answered the more every youth will benefit.

  28. Hold up im cite on this site that caveman is not a Niddar supporter. Now does that make this citation true? Reliability is a huge factor, when it comes to determining credible sources. Here is another example: I say the world is flat because a caveman in thousands of years ago said it is and he read it from another caveman who is a hindu. So it must be true the world is flat. Niddar needs to move past his hate against the Khalsa Panth and get off the payroll of the Indian Government.

You are a niddar lover and you have no problem lying about it, like your perverted master niddar does lie throughout his book. You don't find this at all offensive: typical Niddar lover response. Can't answer for their questions, but just run away. It took him 15 years to think of a way to insult Jathedar Kulwant Singh ji and rest of the Khalsa Panth. No wonder this fool has been kicked out by every Nihang Dal. They kicked his a** to the curve and sent him on his way. And how can you provide evidence for things that never took place? 36. The so called Sikhs that were against Sant ji in 1980 were splitting up the Panth. Sant ji calls these congress lovers out and shames them in his speeches. Don't you think Sant ji didn't know the Panth was being split then? Was that his name or someone else name? I think it's pathetic, that you don't know the facts behind this whole discussion and wanted to get a post in, to look cool at Sikh sangat......look at me. Did Sant ji sit with the congress lovers and fight side by side with them? No. Dal Khalsa and BSSF are no different than those so called Sikh groups that still support Congress and did in the late 70s to early 80s. This clearly shows you don't know what your talking about. This thread is showing the dubious role that Dal Khalsa and BSSF are playing in the Khalsa Panth, who love Darshan Laal, who is a gurnidak and is on a mission to break naive Sikhs from Gurmat. What does this have to do with this thread. But the fact your throwing this around like its a small, issues shows your committment to the unity of the Khalsa Panth. You just got into Sikhi, so your making final statements already. I'm be the naive Sikh now and ask you a question. What happened to being a Sikh that always learns......thats what Sikh means...... a learner. Consider this post slander againt you, but next time keep the pathetic part to yourself or the samething will happen. Next time put your thinking cap on a little tighter before you step into topics you don't know much about.

  38. Socks can get dirty on the way to Maharaj. And wearing socks in Maharaj's presence is nothing wrong. But, let's put what your saying into perspective. The queen wearing socks equals to Manmohan the Hindu going to a mandir and worshipping a stone idol, which Maharaj told us not to do. Tell us where Maharaj says not to wear socks? Also wearing socks in not worship Hindu Gods, bowing to them in a Hindu prayer is worshipping Hindu Gods. I hope you don't bring up another off topic example. That is a Christain problem because he is a Christian. If the Christians want to label him as a traitor according to the Bible then they have every right. Manmohan the Hindu claims to be a Sikh of Maharaj. If he is a Sikh of Maharaj then, he cannot worship stone idols. Tell us where Maharaj said, taking part in a Akhand Paat is wrong? Also taking part in a Akhand Paat does not make you a Sikh and if it is against your religion, then you can't do it. Maharaj say those that worship stone idols are blind and mute and will go to hell. Gurmat forbids it. Maharaj (Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj) Bani is above all. Jassa, if you want to discuss, then discuss without being manipulative (plus they are not working). First you equate socks in Harmindar Sahib to Manmohan the Hindu worshipping stone idols and now to Hindu Gods photos. I could ask for your source on this one, regarding Akali Phul Singh ji, but I'm not going to because having Hindu Gods photos and then worshipping stone idols are two completely different practices. Where does Maharaj say you can't have Hindu Gods photos up? Maharaj strictly forbids stone idols worship and Bhagat Naamdev ji Maharaj smashes the stone idol in his Bani. We are talking about stone idol worship, which Maharaj said don't do and Manmohan the Hindu did it. Satguru Sri Guru Gobind SIngh Sahib ji Maharaj meant he is a stone idol breaker because he taught Sikhs that it is wrong to worship stone idols. In this way he breaks idols. Bhagat Naamdev ji Maharaj also broke stone idols with his Bani. Read the swaiya, it directly say not to accept them as the path to Sri Waheguru ji. This is a more complex question, which if you want to discuss it, then start a new thread where the core of this topic does not get drowned in.

  39. Go on to Niddar Sanatan site, under the Nirmalas section at the bottom of the page, they have a quoted what they believe in, which was uttered by Nirmala Harbhajan Hari. This man that Niddar agrees with, first takes Gurbani out of context and then finishes off by saying the following: So this question is for the Niddar supporters. Where in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj does it say what is quoted above? If your going to rip Gurbani out of context and spit on it like Nirmala Harbhajan Hari has done, then don't bother answering the question.

  40. No one will be offended if Obama came to Harmandir Sahib and did not bow to Maharaj. Obama coming would have been a political gain, where no disrespect is done to his faith or his integrity. I asked this before and you probably missed it, so tell us who was hold a knife to Manmohan's neck? Do you see a post on here saying Manmohan visited a Mandir and now hes not a Sikh. The fact he did the worship of a stone idol, is why hes being called a Hindu. So whats your point? This has nothing to do with what Manmohan the Hindu did. Maharaja Ranjit Singh treated people equally and if Ranjit Singh bowed to idols then also hes a Hindu. Hence no favoritism toward everyone. Didn't Akali Phula Singh ji punish Maharaja Ranji Singh ji for going against Gurmat? Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj is a leader and did he worship stone idols? NO! Letting a religion practices what they want without oppressing others is called treating them equally. So Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj in Sri Chaupai Sahib ji, was thinking small when he said i don't accept the vedas, puraanas or any other religious scripture and only through you Sri Waheguru ji, i attained you?

  43. Should we blame the victims of 1984 for Manmohan's actions. What does this got to do with worshipping hindu Gods? So what if he gets called? Did he have to worship the stone in the middle? Singhs get invited to Hindu weddings at the Mandir, they go and sit there watch the thing happen and don't participate. Who was holding a knife to Hindu Manmohan's neck? The guy that supports politics and hindu stone worship over Sikhi teachings is telling others they are hallow. Is the world also flat? you got one thing right in the above post. 45. please hurry......... hahahahaa All you have too do is talk to the Sant and he will respect your wishes. Sants don't force advice down your throat, they give advice and its ur choice whether you want to accept it or not. It would be different if you asked him for advice and then you rejected it, but you didn't ask so there is no problem here. Talk to the Sant and let him talk to your parents about how you feel and what you want. The so called love marraiges have a higher failure rate than arranged marriages. One person i went to highschool with married a person of his choice last year and they divorced before their first anniversary. But they were together for five years before they got married. There are more cases i can rant about just that i know of, but i think you get the point. It's the type of person you marry, not the way you meet. There are girls out there that play goody good, but when you get to know them, they are down right rotten to the core. If you meet a girl for the first time then your taking a gamble whether she is putting on a front or actually genuine. And the probability of a girl being genuine is 1 to a 100 (not female hating, but universities are a good place for the perverts of both genders). Arranged marraiges can weed out the fakes from the down to earth girls that have morals and stick to them. If you can trust your networks and find a girl that is genuine then take that root, but most likely someone is sticking up for another person because they owe them for a different favor or they are just unsure about the whole thing. Your punjabi speaking problem is not a big issue because girls from india also can speak english with an accent, but not all. I think you don't want to get married in india because your wife would have grown up in a different culture. In my opinion india culture is 1000 times better than this one we live in; Canada and US. Put it another way, would you want your sister (i don't know if you have a sister, its just and example) getting married to a guy from Canada or US, who she met on her own? Most likely hes hiding in 600 closets and he is not coming out. This culture is messed up all around. The deeper you dig the more dirt you find. But if you can find that one genuine girl, then your a lucky man. Focus on your studies, if you stress about this marriage issue too much, your studies are going to suffer.

  47. This is the same Mammohan Singh that greeting gurnidak Darshan Laal (Prof Darshan Singh) at the airport. He greeted and accepted Darshan Laal, who insulted Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj at a Gurdwara in New York. He greeted and accepted this gurnidak after Sri Akal Takht Sahib ordered Sikhs not to eat or sit with this gurnidak. So today Mammohan Singh wants to do a speech on the life of Sant Baba Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa? Sant ji was against any man who disrespected Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj and his Bani, Dhan Dhan Dhan Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji Maharaj. And Mammohan Singh greet a gurnidak with open arms. So how is Mammohan Singh or Dal Khalsa respecting Santji? Mammohan Singh and Dal Khalsa have no respect for Sant ji or the Khalsa Panth. There is a photo of Mammohan Singh greeting gurnidak Darshan Laal at the airport and there is a video of Dal Khalsa eating and sitting with Darshan Laal the gurnidak. Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa would have never greeted a gurnidak. He would have cut this gurnidaks head off, like he says to do with every gurnidak in his speeches. How can Dal Khalsa ever hold their head up high after disrespecting Santji, the Khalsa Panth, and Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj?
