  1. O anger, you are the root of conflict; compassion never rises up in you. You take the corrupt, sinful beings in your power, and make them dance like monkeys (sggs 1358) O Nanak, through lust and anger, no one has ever found God - go, and ask any wise man (sggs 551) Anger barks and brings ruin on itself, blindly pursuing useless conflicts (sggs 1288) Ego: With the false ego ("I-ness") up and active, all our acting in the world becomes selfish and evil. When the materially identified ego has sided with the materialistic forces of creation (Maya), it is said to have the following faults: lust (Kaam), anger (Krodh); greed (Lobh), delusory emotional attachment (Moh), pride (Mada or Ahankaar), envy (Matsarya) and stubborn mindedness (Mann-Hatha). Also called evil passions, man's Spiritual heritage constantly gets looted by these internal thieves (and their numerous variations), causing him to lose knowledge of his True Being. Anger: What is anger? Loads and loads of books have been written on anger. But it still appears to be one of the most misunderstood and overused of human emotions. Anger is one of the human emotions or feelings - one of the psychological ego's passions (negativity, Bikar or Bikaar). Anger is an emotional-physiological-cognitive internal state of consciousness which renders a man blind to the existence of inner Light. Hence sometime it's referred in the scriptures as hidden evil or thief, waiting for an excuse to find expression and expansion. Anger, the outcaste, hides within man's body (sggs 759) Lust and anger steal the wealth of the self within (sggs 352) Within this body dwell the five thieves: Lust desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and pride (sggs 600)

  2. Here is a type of shabad you asked for. Just as millions of sparks are created from the fire; although they are different entities, they merge in the same fire. Just as from of waves are created on the surface of the big rivers and all the waves are called water. Similarly the animate and inanimate objects come out of the Supreme Lord; having been created from the same Lord, they merge in the same Lord. 17.87.

  3. I have been meaning to reply to this topic for days but have been too busy. Being the only brother to 3 sisters, I will try to provide you a brother's perspective. As individuals, when it comes to family, we would rather suffer hardship than make our family members part of the process. For this reason, a lot of people do not tell family members things which will cause them emotional pain. If I was in your brother's position, I would have done the same because if you or your parents were made to be a part of the decision making process them you would have either done one of the following: Not allowed him to go through with the decision Allowed him to go through with the decision either way, you and your parents would have suffered as a result of the decision because eventually you would have blamed your self for making him suffer (decision 1) or blamed your self for his death by saying "Maybe if we had just waited few more months etc" (decision 2). Finally, I believe that your brother was old enough to make his own decision and you guys should respect that and leave it at that. It is natural to think the way you are, I just hope that you guys do understand that his wife's involvement in the decision making process is what doctors always ask for and I hope your relationship with his wife has not suffered as a consequence. I hope guru ji gives you and your family the strength to get through this difficult period. As S1ngh suggested path (gurbani) is the most beneficial thing for your family and your brother.

We are nothing sir, our guru, Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji is all superior, Anhad is a true follower of Guru maharaj, its not that people bow down their head infront of him as per story, Rest sir I think reading the book can very well justify your answer and yes sir he is no doubt the lowest of the low, dont worry on that part sir.

  7. If I had a chance to run a gurdwara, I would translate Gurbani in English for the youth, organise activities for the youth like question time where the youth can ask questions about the Sikh religion. Since most gurdwara have halls the hall that I would be a massive museum where I would have all the gurus teachings, what they taught, what they believed in and what they stood for. All the sacrifices with massive pictures underneath I would have descriptions in English and punjabi. All finaces published on the notice board and the gurdwara website on a weekly basis.

  8. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I was sent to a remote place with no Sikhs, no internet and even the phone network was unreliable at most times. In a way it was good, a break from our electronics driven lives but being without Sangat was like torture. Of course Guru Sahib is ang-sang and Gurbani is always available through Gutka Sahibs and Pothis, but at my low avastha the company of like minded people is vital. Those of you in places that have regular events, good Sangat etc should thank Waheguru everyday!

  9. To train the body in order to attract the opposite sex is manmat and contradictory to Gurmat. We exercise so that we can be healthy and also increase endurance, strength etc to help in combat. I see kesdhari Singh's wearing tight tshirts and jeans. Such Singh's do not look good. A true Singh will wear clothes that do not expose his body shape such as kurta pujama or loose fitting clothing. A Gura ka Sikh seeks the nazar (glance) of Akal Purakh and not the opposite sex.
