Where do u draw the line with this theory of yours? If someone lies, is that because one of their panj told a lie 33 years ago? Is every sin we commit somehow linked to weaknesses of the panj pyare? We ourselves are responsible for the sins we commit. Whether the term and tradition of a honey moon has come from pagan traditions or not is irrelevant. The dude wants to go on holiday with his wife, a holiday after marriage is usually referred to as a honey moon. So he says he wants to go on a honeymoon. Just because he is using a word that may stand for "drinking mead" or whatever, doesnt mean that what he is doing is wrong. It is clear to most here what he meant by honeymoon. If you have a problem with a married couple going on holiday then i feel sorry for you. BTW i get a christmas tree and presents at christmas time, am i a huge victim of the white man? I've just read the whole thread Very interesting. As a completely neutral party, the situation appears clear to me. It is evident that there was an incident of attempted rape, regardless of how many people adamantly reject this notion. However, i do think it necessary to look into the case further than this. To me it seems that its a classic situation of a guy liking a girl and her not returning those feelings. The guy tried to make a pass and got rejected. As a gursikh, yes these actions are wrong. This should be accepted by all. I think the fact that he stopped and apologised countless times after the incident should also be taken into account when discussing his character. From what i have read and researched on this story though, one thing remains clear; that the girl should have been handed out a much harsher sentence. As to the stories of further alleged rapes and other accusations being thrown at the now deceased Singh, without proper evidence, it wouldn't be right to take these into account in this kind of debate. All should agree that yes, the Singh wasn't a saint, a completely innocent party, a top role model for all to follow, and his pass/ attempted rape is no doubt a major sin. However, we should remain aware to the fact that the 'victim' of this attempted rape, turned out to be much more malicious than her attacker and that ultimately led to the horrific death of this Singh. Either way, slandering either party will not help now. What is done is done.
