I agree with papi . sell the ps3 or give it away . instead get into designing games tweaked towards sikhi if u are a techie nurd or geek hahaaa . One of my tenants had the same habit . M'sia is a tiny country and from my past knowledge wen any youth parcharak 'plays up' its relatively easy to put pressure n diffuse the situation as everyone knows n is related to everyone else and ppl like malkit singh , hari singh , autar singh are good experienced negotiators who know how to contain a situation and resolve it for the good of the sangat and panth .

Bhanji, Kudos to you...You really know how difuse situations. Thank you thank you... haha i do try but it doesnt succeed too often . khalsa blood can b sooo hot that i get pushed 2 the side n trampled over and they carry on fighting cyber n real hahaaa . Once in a gurudwara a fight broke out between 2 committees ,the past nd the present ones ,and I unfortunately happened to be sitting right in the centre point between em two and omggg i nearly got killed as these 2 forces of grumpy old men started attacking each other over my head with their kirpans over the issue of which is a better committee. This site is like a huge gurudwara with a satsang than never stops 24/7. i luv it and am very proud . its all Guru's kirpa . a lot of very very very highly charged up and very insightful ,optimistic ,creative and blessed Sikhs on here bursting with vitality. you just could read a few posts nd get so fired up . i think its awesome and amazing and thats a fact . Hehe the more u think u not ,the more u are . We are one big family,hand in hand, all moving together pulling each other to the front. Sometimes in my journey i have been reduced to tears ,and a sense of hopelessness , all weak ,vulnerable ,and tender, and like crushed dirty rubble ,but you know , Gurmukha ki sangat n satsang is gr8 .it lifts you up, n gets u back on track. Life can turn out to be a roller coaster ride but Gurujee is great . My constant prayer are 2 lines from SGGS ,i.e '' bhoj baal ,brahm beer sukh sagar, grth prth geh leo anguria''i.e O Lord Of Mighty Arms, Warrior of the Cosmos, Oceon of Peace, i am falling/drowning into a pit, please grasp my fingers and pull me out''. I remember ,i used to do a weekly satsang for youths but a chardikela middle aged lady used to attend every week . Then suddenly she dissapeared for a few weeks . So , i was worried n went to her house and found out she was very ill . I told her '' matajee ,please take a taxi but do come to the naujawan satsang, I will do an ardas for your health at the end of the satsang and the keertan and naam will help you''. She agreed and came . During the satsang i was doing keertan on stage but could see her face beginning to change from despair to blossom with gr8 joy. When satsang was over she came to me and thanked me for pushing her to come because now she felt much more healthier n happier . i told her '' matajee, gurbani says..... mera bedh gur govinda'' . From that day she started attending again. Coming on this site by itself and reading everyone's inspiring posts from around the world is like being in one huge ever alive international global satsang and gurudwara!! Its so inspiring . Its a great privilege to be able to talk to so many brothers n sisters here irrespective of age and status ,and even have a few jokes too and learn from one another.Sometimes after reading n posting here , its time for my amritvela or nitnem etc and i feelso charged up because of what i had been reading .And things we read here we dont just keep privately to ourselves ,i share em wiv sikhs n non sikhs alike. Wow that brought plenty tears to my eyes and even my heart swelled up in tears . so very beautiful. Ardas shall surely be done big time for you! Do allow ppl to respond on here because Gurujee can inspire and put words in ppl's mouths to trigger and catapult you into very very chardikela. We all tend to slack n get lazy but stay in the company of Gursikhs,attend lots satsangs and programmes ,and read as much as you can related to Sikhi n just keep talking to many blessed Sikhs ,as well keep doing ardas ,simran ,and gurbani and you be fine. iron sharpens iron . Focus on being Gurujee's ambassador. Gurujee brings us closer to Himself, not for us then to get riddled in constant inner battles and etc ,but in order to use us for His Glory , to be His angels and soldiers on the face of this earth. I have lived in the 1st part of my life in a deeply muslim country , now i live in a predominantly white country . But wherever Gurujee has put me , I know he wants to keep using me to a blessing to anyone and everyone, no matter wots their religion ,or race or religion or colour. Just last night(7th august 2009), a 21 year white guy called Matt ,who sometimes works for me in my business ,dropped in to see me for a chat. He has just graduated from Aberystwyth University in North Wales(UK), with a 1st class honours in Film Making. Over tea, i talked to him for 3 hours ,sparing him my time.He is feeling a little lost now that his degree is over . Lovingly, I advised him to cut out drinking and taking spliff, and we went through the various things he could do . This morning at 5.37 a.m i received a text msg from him .It reads '' I want to thank you for your advice,i woke up inspired.'' I just could thank Gurujee for having used me . Now that he trusts and likes me, im getting into a position where i can give him a simran cd, tell him slowly slowly about Sikhism ,take him to a gurudwara etc etc . See veerjee, if we keep doing this n busy our life by serving Gurujee like this we will never have time to be lazy or slack. In the town i life, lives a Sikh who is 70 odd years old . I take some of my inspiration from him. He even received an MBA from the queen of england. This guy in a humble way has a beautiful room in the highest part of his house where he does parkash of SGGS everyday, does all his prayers, and sometimes he organises me to do keertan in his house where he invites a load of people to have a satsang esp on Gurpurabhs. When he was young he had married a german white lady ,subsequently renamed amrit kaur, who for the last 10 years has been crippled with a very bad nerve disease. As a true Sikh , he looks after her , and in a humble way stays in contact with a huge number of Sikhs in this town always looking after them ,giving his ears to their problems and giving them suggestions to do prayers etc ,helping them out with sehaj paath ,etc . Everytime someone is in problem ,he gives his support. The local sikh tv channelin UK is in financial truble and i called him up about 5 days ago and lo n behold he had already been on the case b4 i culd call him!!! organising direct debits frm ppl etc etc . He doesnt only help Sikhs ,he is in just about every local community project ,minorities projects , the Commission for Racial Equality etc etc etc . Now such a man with his fingers in s many pies doesnt slack n get lazy because he is a pillar of society, a local institution , a legend. Mehtab Singh we all love you so much !!!!!!!!

veer keerpa jee No one has any reason to candycoat Sikhism ,any more sweeter than it already is, than the sweetest thing that ever was, will or shall be. I dont think anyone here is trying to candy coat Sikhi. We all are aware that Sikhi involves sacrifices ,qurbani , and surrender.Likewise, no one on this thread is propounding that manmat should be made the norm ,far from it. Also this thread is not about finding excuses for not doing amritvela . You are very lucky that you and your wife had the strength,wisdom ,insight ,and willpower to transform yourself instantly from one to another. And you are still being transformed every passing moment more and more into the likeness of where Gurujee wants you to be, never ever forget that, as that will help you stay humble and ever dependent on Gurujee's grace. But be practical and sensitive to the fact that other people struggle with what you dont as much as you struggle with what other people dont. Gurbani says ''bhulan andar sabh ko ,abhol gur kartar''. Other people on here might have transformed into pukka rahitvaan Sikhs much faster and earlier than you, hold to stricter rehat than yours, and wake up much longer at amritvela than you do, but they may be humble souls realising all 5 fingers aint the same and be willing to show understanding to those who lag behind and offer them a helping hand out of the softness ,'helemi' ,kindness and Godly compassion in their hearts. I grew up amongst a whole generation of amritdharees . We were all one big family . But we all had our own individual weakneses and points of vulnerability. We dint look down but supported each other to help each other out. It is for Gurujee as He is the big boss to write off someone who appears rotten n condemn them to hell . Its our duty to show kindness n patience without candy coating Sikhi, and persist in parchar to whoever is within our radar, as you aint God and just dont know wen someone's magic moment can arrive unexpectedly. In Malaysia, in the late 80s, a gursikh called Lakhbeer Singh became the gyanee of one of Malaysia's main massive Gurudwara called the PJ Gurudwara . This guy in the late 70s fitted the description of everything you have said '' manmat/postponing/looking for excuses/rotten out n in to the core'' ,and more than i dare to mention here. One day in his intoxicated/drugged state somehow he went to a gurudwara and as he bowed down ,he heard a sound which no one around him could hear . It was Gurujee's Voice telling him ''Lakhbeer Singh , your moment with Reality has arrived , no more shall you stray.'' As he woke from metha tek he had become a transformed person. He didnt transform into an amritvela getting up Sikh within 24 hours ,unlike you and your wife , but over many years he found his way to slowly become an amritdharee rehitvaan Singh blessed with the gift of keertan ,gurbani veakhea and etc and by the late 80s he had been apointed a gyanee in one of Malaysia's main Gurudwaras situated in the most intellectual ,elitist and richest corner of Malaysia ,i.e PJ . You are very welcome to condemn those who drag their feet and have a slow journey to be slackers looking for excuses , and to wash your hands off ,all those you consider hopeless rotten to the core guys, and exclude them from your parchar. My life lived practically however tells me that as long as there is life ,there is hope. You just do not know how and when somebody out there is going to snap out of their inertia and go many miles beyond you before you could wink your eye. Gurujee's Workings are unpredictable as only He knows the history of every soul. Our focus ,instead of speculating on who is going to do wot when , or change when ,has to be, to stay humble in Gurujee's presence and through our kehnee ,and kernee to be charismatic Gursikhs drawing others to our Gursikhi way of life. Before i end , i'll tell you another true story. In Malaysia during the 40s,50s,60s , in a certain gurudwara , there was a gyanee who was, what you would call ''totally slack/backsliding'', in terms of amritvela/rehat etc, and even his son(army boy) would come back to the gyanee's house( within the gurudwara compound )totally drunk on his days off. However around the early 70s , the gyanee got his son married to a certain (Sikh) girl. This newly married girl brought with her, past janams good karma and as Gurbani says''purab karam anker jabh pargteh ,tab milio purukh rask bairagi''. A few days after her marriage just as this girl on a quiet day was sweeping the veranda of the gurudwara , out of the blue, had darshan of Guru Arjan Dev Jee. Whoa! that immediately snapped her up. Within a few years she transformed from a shy wife of a drunken soldier into a hard core, totally inspired,dastar tying, Khalsa woman warrior. Seeing her transformation , her old slacking father in law who by now had retired, suddenly awoke from the abbys of his wasted back sliding life riddled with excuses , and arose like a pheonix from the ashes to take amrit again together with his wife and son . That whole family became and still is one huge very inspired family of Gursikhs in that country like an unstoppable army for good well connected to all the leading sikh preachers in that region and more . I can go on and on and on and on telling you story after story of people whose life's have taught me that all we need to focus on is untiring parchar shooting out like bows from an arrow never knowing where n wen its going to hit whom next. As amritvela starts tomorow, who knows which person totally confident in his/her rehat is going to end up oversleeping and which condemned soul living in total ugly guilt is going to receive a loving kiss from Gurujee and be woken up crying in pain to do their nitnem and chant God's name . I await the mysterious dewy night , i surely do, O darling Guru , tonight is the turn for your mercy to turn to who. I know i falter and i know , you know too Everyone looks at my low life and says boo I look at awe at all those who love you And cry ,have mercy on me too ,me too Gurbani says''karam heen dhan kareh benentee, kadh Nanak aveh varee, sabh sohagan maneh relia ek devoh raat muraree.'' May Gurujee bless us all with amritvela,and may we all find the strength and passion to get up as early as possible to spend loads of time during Amritvela with Gurujee , and help those who struggle to do so .
