The second screenings takes place this month at Watermans London. Watermans Arts Centre 40 High Street, Brentford TW8 ODS Box Office 020 8232 1010 London MY MOTHER INDIA Sat 10th July 6pm DISAPPEARANCES IN PUNJAB Sun 11th July 5.45pm SIKHS Mon 12th July 7pm London My Mother India Dir: Safina Uberoi Australia 2002 52mins Safina Uberoi’s acclaimed documentary tells the story of a mixed marriage set against the tumultuous backdrop of modern Indian history. The film focuses on her own peculiar family: an Indian father who collects kitsch calendars, an Australian mother who hangs her knickers out to dry in front of the horrified Indian neighbours, a grandfather who was a self-styled Guru and a fiercely man-hating grandmother. What begins as a quirky and humorous documentary about an eccentric, multicultural upbringing unfolds into a complex commentary on the social, political and religious events of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984 that changed the destinies of the family. ’A very personal story about identity and belonging, My Mother Ind ia is a fascinating insight into Indian culture…Safina Uberoi shares her emotional journey of discovery in a humorous, poignant and moving documentary’ – Urban Cinefile Disappearances In Punjab Dir: Ram Narayan Kumar & Lorenze Skerjanz A documentary film exploring the legacy of human rights violations in Punjab committed by Indian’s security forces, its effects on the citizens of the state and its role in sustaining unrest in Punjab. Sikhs Directors: John Das, T Tommy ommy Nagra A two-part landmark documentary commissioned by the BBC to mark the 300th Anniversary of the Khalsa. It paints a vivid and compelling portrait of the Sikh community worldwide. The series was filmed in India, the UK, Canada and the USA and was over a year in the making. The first film looks at the emergence of Sikhs in the 15th century, with its teachings of justice, social harmony, peace and equality of all people, regardless of religion, creed, race or gender. It traces how Sikhism further developed in the face of persecution, culminating in the founding of the Khalsa. This part also looks at two of the Sikh community’s most traumatic experiences of the 20th century - the Partition of the Punjab in 1947, and the storming of The Golden Temple of Amritsar at Mrs Gandhi’s behest in 1984 and the subsequent mass killings of innocent Sikhs throughout India. witness84.com ... witness84.com ... witness84.com ... witness84.com ... witness84.com ... witness84.com ... witness84.com ... witness84.com ... 20 years after 1984, the truth is still not told, justice has still not been delivered, minority rights are yet to be addressed. 7. dam just got this off the egroups guess the twat crapped himself and is not coming now it would have been good for him and india to see that the sikhs are still in pain and looking for justice. may be next time sorry sangat ji for the confusion sukdev Non-present Indian minister! The new Indian government’s interaction with the NRIs in America got off to a bad start when the NRI Minister Jagdish Tytler cancelled his US visit. BY L K SHARMA DH NEWS SERVICE, WASHINGTON: Never take an Indian minister’s appearance for granted unless he actually appears. Most of the NRIs have learnt this by experience. Thus it was no surprise when the news came that Jagdish Tytler, Minister for NRIs, will not be able to address the Indian community in Los Angeles or address the annual convention of the Indian Physicians, AAPI. Most disappointed were the Overseas Friends of BJP who had prepared themselves to resume their protesting activity after a gap of some years during which their own leaders ruled India. One of the organisers said how “painfully disappointed” they were for having to miss the opportunity to demonstrate against Mr Tytler for his alleged involvement in the Delhi anti-Sikh riots of 1984. He said the Overseas Friends of BJP as well as the Sikh community will always be ready to demonstrate against Mr Tytler in future. The incident illustrates that Mr Tytler begins his fresh ministerial career with a handicap because of this peculiar portfolio devised by the new government in response to a long-standing demand by the NRIs. The very suspicion of h is involvement in the riots makes Mr Tytler a controversial figure in the global community of Indians. Mr Tytler has to develop relations with this community but his political opponents will make it difficult by seeking to incite an influential section against him. Any protests that recall the anti-Sikh riots will, of course, be welcomed by the residual Sikh extremists living abroad. They found themselves out of business when the Punjab situation turned normal. While the NRIs expect too much from the Indian government, the latter’s generosity comes with a lack of sensitivity. The former prime minister’s decision to appoint Mr B K Agnihotri, a US-based lawyer with an RSS background, as roving ambassador for the NRIs was highly controversial. It was seen as an attempt to reward a personal friend with a fund-raising ability. A large sections of the Indians abroad, not friendly to the BJP, shunned him. The secular activists were hostile to him. What was worse, a section of the Overseas Friends of BJP, belonging to the rival camp, was equally hostile to him. As Mr Agnihotri tried hard to counter the perception of being sectarian, he had to fight a turf battle with the external affairs ministry which was unhappy to see a rival Indian “ambassador” running an official outfit in the US. The controversy of Mr Agnihotri’s accreditation to the host government dragged on for months because of his being a Green Card holder. Ultimately, a way out was found by getting him accredited to the United Nations. The Manmohan Singh government abolished that post of the roving ambassador with a global remit but has to learn more about the NRI community. AAPI is a very large and influential organisation and the presence of an Indian minister at its convention would have been useful. Its Washington convention two years ago was addressed by Sonia Gandhi who was visiting as the Leader of the Opposition. > Considering that Mr Tytler is now looking for departments shows that the new NRI ministry was created without much advanced planning.

Its a matter of shame that people like Tytler are wined and dinned but their victims live in poverty. Lets hound these people where ever they are until the world listens to the cries of our mothers brothers and sisters the TRUE will be told. This is VERY URGENT please forward it to as many ppl FROM WITNESS84.COM URGENT ACTION Jagdish Tytler, the Indian minister, implicated by two Judicial Commissions, for masterminding the massacres of Sikhs in Delhi in 1984 is being invited by the American Physicians of Indian Origin for dinner to honour his recent election to Indian Paliament. The notoriety of this individual runs deep in the annals of modern history as he stands accused of organising and masterminding the massacre and carnage of over 4000 Sikhs during the Delhi riots in 1984. As a profession which embellishes compassion, humanity and hope, we find it incomprehensible and express our utter despair, that this individual is being welcomed under your patronage. To think that those who take an oath to preserve life have invited one who has taken so many lives, is extraordinary and unbelievable. It must be sad and disturbing for any ordinary person to realise that there are physicians in USA, who despite upholding the values of freedom, democracy and human rights, will pay tribute to a man skilled in organising the massacre of innocents. Words cannot express the pain, shock and humiliation that this causes. The massacres organised were amongst the worst in t he history of modern India. Innocent people were pulled from their homes and burnt alive with petrol and kerosene. No Sikh was spared as children and the elderly were burnt and women brutally gang raped. During the four days of violence that ensued Sikh shops were looted and Gurudwaras desecrated under the auspices of the Indian congress party in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination. Mobs incited and controlled by politicians such as Jagdish Tytler and Sajaan Kumar. It was a chilling similarity to the Nazi Kristallnacht where Jews their homes and property were targeted and destroyed. However, the guilty not only walk free, but find themselves being honoured by organisations such as yours. Central to this massacre was Jagdish Tytler. Evidence presented in front of two Judicial Commissions (Nanavati, Misra) have implicated him. Fear, intimidation and threats have prevented witnesses from giving evidence against him. Justice was, and still is, denied to thousands. Tytler’s notorious background is well known to every Indian and human rights organisation. It pains the Sikh community, and indeed all those Indians who value the meaning of life, to learn that to patronise such an individual is to endorse the horrendous crimes against humanity that he has perpetrated. Yet we can only assume that it through ignorance of Tytler’s past that this event is planned and is allowed to proceed. Otherwise, the thought of any doctor endorsing such a butcher of brutal murders is despicable and revolting. May God give your patients strength to face you in your surgeries. Please demonstrate to us that it is the former and cancel the event. Physicians, whom we hold with such great esteem, are endowed with the greatest gift of saving life, compassion and humanity. It is inconceivable that members of such a noble profession would ever entertain the prospect of sharing any platform with such a remorseless tyrant of humanity. The Physicians of Indian origin are honouring him in the state We are deeply alarmed and shocked having learnt that members of this honourable profession intend to honour Mr Jagdish Tytler the Indian Congress minister for Non Resident Indians abroad. The notoriety of this individual runs deep in the annals of modern history as he stands accused of organising and masterminding the massacre and carnage of over 4000 Sikhs during the Delhi riots in 1984. It must be sad and disturbing for any ordinary person to realise that there are physicians in USA, who despite upholding the values of freedom, democracy and human rights, will pay tribute to a man skilled in organising the massacre of innocents. Words cannot express the pain, shock and humiliation that this causes. The massacres organised were amongst the worst in the history of modern India. Physicians, whom we hold with such great esteem, are endowed with the greatest gift of saving life, compassion and humanity. It is inconceivable that members of such a noble profession would ever entertain the prospect of sharing any platform with such a remorseless tyrant of humanity. This is indeed a heartbreaking news that there are physicians in the USA who can honours such a man. But it will be even more devastating a thought to realise that our country will allow such a man to be honoured. We urge you to advice the Indian government that he is not welcome by the citizens of California State www.witness84.com www.carnage84.com
  12. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh veerji thanks for that. more ppl need to read this, send it on the yahoo groups etc great job singh sukdev
  13. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh sangat ji ive got a pic off Shaheed Baba Mohar Singh ji and family i want to post it here, but i canot for some reason. is their a way to put them on here or can i email them to some1. ive got loads off pics of the singhs thanks sukdev
  14. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh veery ji I cannot and will not say anything against a figure like Baba ji, listen to tapes of Santji read the jeevan off Babaji. Then u will understand the role he has played in the Panth and the Taksaal. Veerji I don’t know ur background but don’t read or listen to every thing ppl out there say. I think baba ji role in the movement can’t be question or denied. Ask the singhs who fought in the jathas what babaji’s role was. I’ve spoken to loads of singhs and heard so many stories of baba ji giving his blessings to the gursikhs going out to bring justice to our nation. Look at the letter written by Shaheed Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda and Shaheed Bhai Sukdev Singh ji Sukha showing their love for the gursikhs and saying fateh to babaji, the bana woren by Bhai Jinda and Bhai Sukha on their finial day were given by Babaji. I could go on and on even to this day, things need to be kept gupt but every singh knows where babaji mind and blessing is. quote: eg when he had the chance to back the kharkus, he didnt, he stayed out of the conflict which devastated some kharkus, here wa santji;s jatha not supporting them this is stupid to say that baba ji stayed out the conflict, who set up the KCF, who organised the Sarbat Khalsa of 26 Jan 1986???? Under babaji command all these historical events happened, yes some singhs wanted more input, but we must remember as our figure head he has responsibility beyond our thoughts. Looking after the Taksaal, helping the shaheed families, taking on everything thrown at them on the panthic stage ie sgpc and others attacking Santji and the Taksaal. It’s easy for us to s ay do this don’t do this. quote: eg when he backed jasbir rode, santjis newphew to become akal tahkt jathedar, rode came out and went against khalistan but pro puran azadi in india, again with baba thakur singhs backing Babaji left the Panthic Committee to run the movement, it was the Sarbat Khalsa that elected Jasbir rode to jathadar, babaji never supported the concept of puran azadi. The fact is babaji and the Panthic committed disowned him straight away. Where is jasbir rode in the taksaal now adays??? qoute: eg when kps gill and sarbajit singh (dc of amritsar) came to the taksal for a blessing, baba thkaur singh gave them it, surely he shouldnt have Babaji was not even there at the time kp gill came to metha. babaji was at bhai jindas house. As a person that supports the movement u seem to fall for every tactic the hindian government used. Create suspension in their ranks so they fight each other. Yes the time when kp gill came to metha the Taksaal was not as strong and most off the freedom fighters were shaheed, yes the singhs couldn’t do anything to them, they had milk and they left. quote: the way some of u back the word of an old man whose actions are against khalistan bemuses me, sure he makes young boys into good gursikhs, im not syaing he doesnt, but where does he come out and back khalistan???? he doesnt and never has singh u need to watch what u say, u very disrespecting a gursikh who every freedom fighter respected and trusted, even singhs like Shaheed Baba Gurbhachan Singh Manochahal don’t say a bad word to babaji even when they had differences with some of the singhs close to babaji. Babaji doesn’t have to come out every time .and shout on the roof tops he supports khalistan, his action speak loader. The very man who organised the Sarbat Khalsa where the Declaration of Khalistan was made. What more do u want???? Sorry veerji it upset me to hear this type of thinking. Babaji has a 150 singhs trained in Shasters, y es the time is not right to go into battle but they are preparing for it. Just think babaji and the jatha has lost about 60% of its students to the movement, they died fighting his trying to rebuild, u lot seem to expect miracles. quote: we need to wake up and stop living in the past and rely on one mans word, he is not a guru, stop belieiving everything he says, use ur own brain im a khalistani to the max, but to rely on one old man or some jatha be it taksal, akj whoever and believe whatever they say as word is wrong, they are not god i want khalistan badly, and truly think hat blind allegiance to anyone but our guru will lead to our downfall our past is our future singh, we have to learn from the mistakes we made. We are not holding on to babaji, we got Guruji and the lessons of the shaheeds to guide us. Lets not forget the words of Santji that when the army sets foot inside Sri Darbar Sahib the foundation of Khalistan will be laid. Yes we do live on the words of Gursikhs over 250,000 died living up to the words of Santji. qoute: im sorry to offend, as a historian i may analyse things in a different way to u, i truly am sorry to offend As a historian your history of the movement is really lacking sorry don’t mean to offend. qoute: i want khalistan badly, and truly think hat blind allegiance to anyone but our guru will lead to our downfall I agree with u, but we are taking about gursikhs who are ONE with VAHEGURU. Take care brother don’t mean to offend we doing a diss service to the gursikhs that fought and became shaheeds if we are not going to tell the truth about what happened..
  15. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh the version of the events of the Shaheedi of Bhai Mohar Singh ji and family is different to the one i heard. it goes like this. Bhai sahib ji was so impressed with Sant Kartar Singh ji katha and he decided to become a singh of Deshmesh Pitaji. Coming from a pandit background they took the step to becoming a Gursikh with his Singhni i can’t remember Bhenjis name i think it is Bibi Pritam Kaur. Bhai Sahib Ji joined the jatha and stayed with the singhs in Sri Darbar Sahib and was a bodyguard of Sant Giani Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa. During the attack in June 84 Bhai Sahib ji and his family took charge of a morcha (defence position) near where Dhan Baba Deep Singh ji put his head down in Sri Darbar Sahib. If people have heard of the story that one of the tanks got stuck near where Baba Deep Singh ji give put his head during the attack. It was the family of Shaheed Bhai Mohar Singh ji that stopped this tank in its tracks. During the attack Shaheed Bibi Satnam Kaur and Shaheed Bibi Vaheguru Kaur helped their parents repel the army by filling the magazines with bullets and helping other Gursikhs in their morchas. One seeing the tanks comes into Sri Darbar Sahib Shaheed Bhai Mohar Singh ji and family decided the only way to stop the tanks attacking Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib and killing Santji was to wrap grenades around them and jumps onto the tank. They blow up the tank which stopped in it tracks and the army couldn’t move it or get any more tanks in that way, plus it was so inspiring for the other Gursikhs to see such a daring act of courage. These little princesses became shaheeds defending Sri Darbar Sahib at the mere ages of 6 and 8 years old. Shaheed Bhai Mohar Singh and Singhni too became shaheed. These true Gursikhs brought back the sacrifices of the Sahibzida back to life, what a truly inspiring family. Not that their shaheed was the only blood split by this family their cousins Shaheed Bhai Baksheesh Singh Kaljug, Shaheed Bhai Parmjit Singh and their 3rd brother in cant remember his name took amrit became Khalsa, joined the Freedom fighters and died fighting for Khalistan. Shaheed Bhai Baksheesh Singh Kaljug was such a fierce fighter they named him Kaljug because he brought death to the enemy. Shaheed Bhai Baksheesh Singh ji rose to the rank of Lt General Khalistan Commando Force. I will dig up their life story plus scan in the letter they wrote to singhs here. It’s an amazing story of untold sacrifice dedication which until today continues with their father and mother still holding Sri Akhand Parths for the shaheeds, and is close to Shaheed Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda’s family. to those who think the panjab problem was a hindu sikh thing need to look at the contribution off famlies like this. there are soo many stories of hindus helping the singhs and hindus seeing the abusues and oppression been carried out on the sikhs that they converted to Sikhi and fought in the battle field. Shaheed Roshan Lal Baragi one of the 1st Shaheed Rakash kumar Jalaandar Shaheed Muhammad cnt remember his full name but he was a police officer who joined the singhs and became Shaheed with his wife. others ive forgot these are top of my head ive got a list some where. Dhan those Gursikhs who gave their Dhan Mann Than for Guruji and US Remember these Gursikhs and do Ardas that we too may live up to their standards AKAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL sukdev
  16. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh sandeep singh ji said: 1. One interesting point he brought up was that Sant Bhindrawale had hired the "gundas" or mob/mafia like people to kill others. These gundas grew their dharis out, and if someone talked against the Khalistan movement, or the like, he would order them to kill the people who talked against it. Is this true? 1 Its sad when ppl keep falling for the same lies that were said about Santji in the 80s, my parent are one example. They have neither taken time out to listen to Santjis speeches or have they any link with the movement. But once they saw myself change from a tear away teenager to some1 who started to practice sikhi and be committed to the goals off the singhs they changed. They are totally committed to what Santji stood for. Yes they are scared for their son but who’s parents are not. The crap that ppl still believe about Santji 20 years on is amazing. All we can do is to educate them and be good Sikhs ourselves and they will understand what a great person Santji was. Sabtji did not need to hire ppl nor did he kill innocent ppl. Yes the singhs did not spare anyone who committed abuses on Sikhi or the Sikhs. Like DSP bachana who the singhs killed, because he tortured Bhai Amrik Singh ji, countless others too paid the price off committing heinous crimes on the Sikhs and will do in the future. 2. Also, my father asked the question that if Khalistan was formed who would have gone there considering their position in already stable countries? (sidenote: if Khalistan was formed today, how many of you would actually leave your home, jobs, etc, and move to Khalistan? ) 2. Khalsa Raaj (Khalistan) was fought by the Sikhs in hindia, they Gave their blood for it who are we to take away their dream. Its not about me or u, when Guruji gives us the kirpa Khalsa Raaj will be made. When we get khalsa raaj we will find out how many off us will go there to live, but when we get it at least we will able to sleep at night knowing our brothers and sistas are safe and sound, not hounded by the army or police. 3. In addition, my father stated that most support and financial aid was coming from foreign places and many Sikhs in India were not full supporters of the movement. Is this true 3. Yes the money came from abroad as the Sikhs in India could barely feed themselves and its our duty to help out our brothers and sista. Don’t the Sikhs living abroad send money to their relatives so they can buy more land, tractors etc??? over 250,000 sikhs got shaheed in hindia and over 300,000 where there at the Sarbat Khalsa 26th Jan 1986 where they passed the Gurmatta of all out war on hindia and the deceleration of Khalistan so yes the Sikhs did want their freedom. A revolution is only fought by 2% off the population, just look at the battle of Chamkur their was only 40 left with Guruji, but Guruji didn’t give up and say the majority are not with us so we should not carry on the struggle against oppression and injustice. 4. My father related how Sant Bhindrawale advocated that people should carry guns, swords, at all times....isnt it obvious that this, in the eyes of the world, both violent and militaristic? 4. Santji only advocated what Guruji’s hukam was “was to bear and carry arms. Do not come before me with out arms or kesh.” Just look at the world powers they display their weapons on parades, why should we be shy and weak. We are Sant/Saphis, yes to kill innocents or to scare the weak is a sin, but a bigger sin is to have arms and not defend the weak and not to get justice for ur community.Veerji hope I dnt offend u . am no scholar, just say it from the heart. Hope it was useful Take care sukdev

  20. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh veerji All i know about Shaheed Bhai Surinder Singh Sodhi was that he was an ex nihang from baba nihal singhs jatha. He was truly amazing gursikh, he was Santji's main hit man he could master any weapon plus at one time he dressed up as a navel officer and went to see bhajan lal the chief minister of haryana state. This bhajan lal had committed gross human rights abuses on the Sikhs living in his state and during the Asian games of 81/82 he stopped all sikhs no matter what their status from entering delhi, this humiliation was heaped on ministers, generals of the Indian army, basically any one with singh in his name. During the 80’s bhajan lal killed many Sikhs and burnt down Gurdwaras. Bhai Surinder Singh ji got past his security and sat down and had a cup of tea with this evil person, Santji’s orders were only kill him if he (Bhai Sodhi) could escape, Bhai sodhi did not go against Santjis hukam as he was very disciplined Saint/Soldier he left without killing bhajan lal. Bhai Surinder Singh Sodhi was like Baba Bidhi Chand a master of disguise and had nerves of steel. May Guruji bless us with more Gursikhs like him. It was the akalis who got Bhai Surinder Singh Sodhi shaheed, the singhs took revenge killing all those involved in less than 24 hours. The one person they didn’t kill was the general secretary of the Akali Dal Gurcharn this was because Santji didn’t want the Sikhs fight with themselves, he saw the bigger picture of getting Sikhs their rights, but when the Indian army attacked Sri Darbar Sahib Santji sent some singhs to give justice to gurcharn and they killed him there. There’s loads mor e stories about bhai sahib one day we will sit down and type them up for the sangat to read and inspire us to walk the path of Sikhi no matter what lays ahead off us Dhan Guruji Dhan thera Panth Khalsa Never forgot 84 sukdev
  21. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh dear cyber sangat ji Any one who is assoicated with the indra congress cant do sikhs any justice. any way its gone beyond that now. over 120,000 sikhs dead countless missing our mothers and sisters raped across hindia. Why should we look to a socalled sikh congressie, was it not a Sikh president that signed the papers to attack Sri Darbar Sahib???? A sikh is not a person who wears a turban etc etc, Guru ji tought us that being humble and honest and working for sikhi doing seva, nitnem is a True Sikh. in my view his a puppet, they will use him to batter the sikhs even more just think when we lobby or talk about human rights etc they will say is not the PM of Hindia a 'Sikh' it was the same in 84 the president was a 'sikh' the generals that attack Sri Darbar Sahib were sikhs its a old game they are acting out BEWARE i think they are going to try and finish us off LET THEM TRY  he will be like kp gill, longowale, badal who are pawns in the hands of their dictators in delhi lets not get carried away thinking he will do something for us, dam lets do it our self take care dhan guruji dhan thera panth khalsa never forget 84 sukdev
  22. vaheguru ji ka khalsa vaheguru ji ki fateh singh a kharkoo is the term used for the freedom fighters, dnt know the excat meaning but it means one who stands up, i think take care sukdev
