  7. BUMP - with Waheguroo's Kirpaa, this will be another amazing week/Student Akhand Paath. Waheguroo
  8. Happy Birthday! May Waheguroo Jee keep you in Chardikala and in His Sweet Charan, and enable you to do keep doing Seva of the Panth!
  9. I l.o.v.e. you :D Real nice explanation on the importance of Saadh Sangat, and how true Saadh Sangat is only found through Waheguroo's grace: "Bin Bhaaga, Satsang Na Labhae. Bin Sangat Mael Bhareejae Jeeo" Waheguroo
  10. Gurfateh jee, It's a good idea that we should come together and do veechaar of Bani. However, one thing to bear in mind is that, unlike reading a simple passage from a book or Bible, etc., Gurbani has spiritual power behind every single letter. If we are to understand and appreciate what Guroo Maharaaj Jee is truly saying to us, one reading of a Shabad will not be enough. Serious Abhiyaas, Kamaaiyee and Contemplation of the Shabad is required before our soul can begin to understand the Untreev message of what Maharaaj is saying. Further, listening to the Katha and Giaan of Kamaiyee-wale Sants, Mahapurakhs, Bhai Sahib, Gursikhs, etc., with years of Abhiyaas, Kamaiye and Gursikhi Jeevan will help us understand what Guroo Maharaaj Jee is telling us. Otherwise, without such Abhiyaas, Kamaaiyee and Contemplation, there's the risk of people becoming Kitaabi Gyanis, which is such a prominent problem these days! Bhul Chuk Maaf, Waheguroo
  11. All sounds good except the Bhangra bit, should be a Niraul Gurbani channel. Waheguroo
  12. Haven't yet reviewed the Annual Report, but it is refreshing that Sikhnet are open and transparent about their costs/income, and acknowledge that they are making a living out of the website. If we aim to have good media which does Parchaar, we have to face up to the reality that it costs, and that we need to proactively encourage and fund the people that do the good work. Similarly, the people taking the Sangat's money have a duty to be open and transparent with where the Sangat's money is going. Waheguroo
  13. Quite a ridiculous topic! Waheguroo
  14. Re Jai Tegang's comments - we tried setting up a one-on-one with the wedding couple in our local Gurdwara, to explain the Anand Kaaraj ceremony's spiritual significance, etc., but the problem was that the wedding couple's parents get irritated and annoyed, and because these people are part of local Sangat, the elders in our Gurdwara do not wish to antagonise them from their ongoing Seva. It's real Catch-22 situation. No-one's giving up - the points made by Starsingh are very valid, though we have to find constructive and novel ways of educating the Sangat. What could these be? Please contribute with your ideas. Waheguroo
  15. Hanjee - agree that this is Ghor-Beadbi of Sikhi Saroop. At my local Gurdwara, someone even wanted to use the Giani's washroom in the Gurdwara to shave before the ensuing reception! (( Waheguroo
