  1. I still don't understand nihal's fascination with sikhi based issues? Its like everytime something related to us (sikhs) is raised in the media he feels the need to discuss it
  2. Sounds silly but try communicating with your parents more, you'll be amazed at how much you pick up. Eventually you'll even start thinking in punjabi instead of english lol you'll be like how do you say x word in english might sound silly now but watch it happen. Also make it a "rule" at home that no matter what only punjabi is spoken, yes you'll struggle first but later it'll become natural. English isn't our first language in most cases but look how we picked it up as youngsters same way if punjabi is spoken around us regardless of understanding the language you'll pick it up over time. Best of luck little bro

    Nitnem

As said by singh1234567 don't eat before you do your nitem as it is actually hukham. Basically by doing nitem and then eating your feeding your soul by doing your nitem 1st and then feeding your body by physically eating breakfast etc after. (That's how I taught myself and got into the routine of doing paat before I have breakfast at first and it did the trick lol). I'd also suggest you push yourself to complete nitem because just like how at amrithsanchar we are blessed with amrith same way every morning when we do our nitem we are feeding our soul with amrith (if iv said this slightly wrong someone please feel free to correct me). Another thing is try to wake up early, the earlier you wake up the more likely you are to be able to focus. Best of luck
  4. Could anyone pleae provide the dates for bandhi chor devas this year? Also the date of guru nanak dev ji mahrajis gurupurb?.
  5. No idea but guru har rai Gurdwara sahib West Bromwich have santhiya classes on weekends.
  6. *sigh* doesn't nihal have anything better to do?. All he ever seems to do is "debate" about sikhi based issues..
  7. Didn't they launch in 2008? Unless I have got the wrong online sikhi shop.
  8. Sikhishop are brilliant from what I remember ordered my 1st bana from them when they first opened; they did a amazing job both with the bana itself and the delivery. They were also very cooperative so email communication was good to as they responded pretty fast.
  9. Always address her as bhenji or sister whenever you say hi to her. Tell her in a polite yet firm manner you only see her as a sister and explain to her kindly the reason behind this. If she tries to sit by you in class and your aware of this then I'd suggest you always make sure your siting by a male friend/friends meaning no space for her. Its good you only see her as a sister, its nice to hear there are still some youngsters who see girls as sisters only. Best of luck

    Dukh/Rog

You might not like what I'm about to say but here goes. 1) There is no such thing as dukh as dukh & sukh are 1. Think about it logically our parents wouldn't want us to face hardship in life same way Mahraji never give their children (us) pain instead this moments of "dukh" are moments of sukh because its mahraji testing us. Accept sukh and dukh as one. Turn a situation you see as a negative into a positive. Its all about how you see things, if you see things as dukh then it'll get to you and feel like dukh but if you try to turn that into a positive thing you'll see the positive side. 2) Start strengthening your sikhi; in general this will help you become a more positive and stronger person. 3) Go and see your gp for further treatment. Its nothing to be ashamed of, they see these kinds of situations (e.g. Headlice etc) all the time. Best of luck.
  11. Mafi je if parents had opinions you shared half of our problems in my opinion would be avoided lol
  12. Kuljugi bhaji completely agree with you couldn't have put it better myself.
  13. 1) Do ardas to mahraji begging for forgiveness; as mentioned by other members mahraji forgives us all as their children. 2) "4-5 times" is 4 to 5 times to many. Drink can cause death. Sounds extreme I know but it happens. you might think it won't happen to you but in reality the more you keep drinking the more likely chance you'll become addicted to it and it'll damage your organs etc. Remember this body of ours is not ours its a gift mahraji has given us and won't be with forever so look after it to the best of your ability. Our body is also our temple. 3) If you feel this is a bigger issue that you can't cope with do not be afraid to seek professional help. Our society has a habit of keep things closed up behind closed doors in fear of what other people might say. If professional help will help you go and ask your doctor for it, asking for help isn't something to be ashamed of. Best of luck.
  14. If that's the case then maybe Kuldeep singh chaheru's name should be removed from topic title to avoid confusion and wrong information?
  15. During the day keep kirtan or paat on in your room; it'll help you not feel afraid. Also listen to paat etc as much as you can it'll keep your mind at peace in general . Another thing is when your feeling afraid start simran and/or moolmantar paat. You'll be fine best of luck.
  16. Every time you want to have a cup of tea instead of tea have a glass of another drink such as orange juice or water etc (a healthier option). Slowly you'll stop drinking the tea I tried the above when I started to cut down on fizzy drinks recently and instead of fizzy drinks I started having water or orange juice; it worked now I only have a fizzy drink on very rare occasions
  17. Does anyone else find it bit odd that the 2 events (sedgley street & tividale) are set for same day?
  18. To topic opener I think S4NGH has answered your queries to the point I don't think there's anything more anyone else can add.
  19. so sad. Dogs give their owners etc so much love etc yet this is how some people treat them.
