A partner can be found by parents or gursikh sangat... well i have seen some cases where a new singh of marriagable age from a non gursikh family who don't know much of gursikh sangat looks for a partner by himself but then he is not talking to a girl directly... he is going through her parents. So i believe that looking for a singhnee by yourself will led to kaam... which won't allow you to concentrate on naam abhyaas... well i know that if we pray, guru sahib helps us... Yeah soft drinks are also harmful not only coz they have caffeene but also coz they are acidic which weakens the bones and make us weak from inside... so a gursikh generally tries to avoid these things... This is not only as per sikhi but as sikhi is pure logical and science has also proved how harmful soft drinks can be. I myself used to drink 3-4 cups of tea daily... left about an year ago and can feel the difference... if you don't believe you can try that... Well there is another option in tea which is called saavi cha... it is pure leaves and is generally prepared without milk... good for health also Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Long time back a very chardi kala gursikh(i know personally) asked me whether it is ok to say Raja Ranjit Singh as Maharaja Ranjit Singh as for gursikhs Maharaj is only guru sahib. I didn't knew what to answer as he is a real chardi kala gursikh so must have thought something before asking and I personally always called Raja Ranjit Singh... what are sangat views on that? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

Well here I doubt coz most of puratan singhs I have met believe that it was said by Guru Gobind Singh ji and noted down by Bhai Desa Singh ji... but i may be wrong but this is what i heard from puratan singhs... And yes for gursikhs every tuk in Guru Granth Sahib ji is a HUKAM and hence rehat. But it comes with HIS kirpa and continous commitment that stage is achieved but yea we have to try to follow as much we can from guru granth sahib ji coz it is our rehat Waheguroo ji ka Khalsa Waheguroo ji ki Fateh !!

  9. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! veerjee... daas is working for last 4 years and we have parties every month or so, i understand your situation... but i try to avoid as much as possible... and my manager understand me and so do colleagues... but sometimes there is a situation that we have to go... like there is a launch or any other event where you have to do presentation, and then mebbe have to stay for dinner also or sometimes we have meetings as lunch or dinner meeting ... i think its ok but try to do simran all the time you are there then nothing can affect you... chaugird hamaare ram kaar dukh lagge na bhai There will be kaar of simran along us so nothing will affect us... but yeah if you go then come back early so that you dun end up doing Amritwela in the party coz these parties goes till 3-4 Am in the morning ... but try to come back after having dinner or a while later [font=GurbaniWebThick span stylefont-size14ptline-height100]vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!![/font][/font]

I agree with veerjee... good explaination... its explained in more detail in Gurmat Bibek by bhai sahib randhir singh... well eating junk effect the concentration... though it doesn't affect us right now coz we don't concentrate on naam abhyaas that much but to naam abhyaasi gursikhs even little change in concentration affects a lot... so they prefer to keep bibek on lot of things like food, dressing, talking, listening everything... vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!

Names of Sehajdhari Sikhs to be removed Voter lists for SGPC elections Sarbjit Dhaliwal Tribune News Service Chandigarh, October 20 The Union Government has decided to remove the names of all Sehajdhari Sikhs from the voter lists for general elections of the SGPC. Informed sources said today that as the Union Government had decided to deny the right to vote to the Sehajdhari Sikhs in the SGPC elections, hence the decision to remove their names from the voter lists. The SGPC elections were due to be held in October 1999. But these have not been held yet for unknown reasons. The sources said while preparing fresh voter lists, around 8 lakh Sehajdhari Sikhs were enlisted as voters in Punjab. The total number of voters enlisted for the SGPC elections in Punjab was around 58 lakh. In Haryana, of the 31.5 lakh voters enlisted for the SGPC elections, around 55,000 were Sehajdhari Sikhs, and in Himachal Pradesh, around 9,000 were Sehajdhari Sikhs of the 25,000 voters. The decision to remove the names from the voter lists had been taken by making a necessary change in the Section 49-A of the Sikh Gurdwara Act of 1925. Besides the SGPC, a number of other organisations had opposed the inclusion of the names of the Sehajdhari Sikhs in the voter lists. The draft of the voter lists were ready. These would be published by the end of the December after carrying out necessary corrections on the basis of objections raised by persons concerned. The decision of the Union Government had come at a right time. Otherwise, after the final publication of the voter lists, it would have been very difficult to remove the names of Sehajdhari Sikhs from the lists, sources said. Interestingly, the Punjab Government had supported the voting right to Sehajdhari Sikhs in the SGPC elections. In fact, this issue has been hanging fire for the past four years. In 1999, the Union Government wrote to the then Punjab Chief Minister, Mr Parkash Singh Badal, that whether his government supported or not the voting right to Sehajdhari Sikhs. Mr Badal had kept the file pending till he was voted out from the power in the state. However, a few hours before formally submitting his resignation to the Governor, he tried to convey to the Centre that voting right should not be given to Sehajdhari Sikhs, but he was unable to do so as the officer concerned, who was asked to write to the Centre in this connection, refused to do so taking the plea that the Badal government had already lost the elections. Later, the file was put up to the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh, who supported the voting right to the Sehajdhari Sikhs. The sources said before the final publication of the voter lists, all such names would have to be removed from the lists. Otherwise, if these names were not removed, a lot of confusion would be caused during the elections. Even Sehajdhari Sikhs will not be able to vote in the elections of the local committees of the gurdwaras managed indirectly by the SGPC. Under Section 92 of the Act, there are gurdwaras having monthly income over Rs 1,00,000, which are managed by the elected local committees. Three members of such committees are elected at local level and one is nominated by the SGPC. Amritwela is not at all an easy thing... only come by HIS kirpa so we have to do ardaasa everyday that guru sahib bless us with Amritwela... and try to do sangat of real chardi kala gursikhs... it helps improving on jeevni and Amritwela... I was most laziest till 3-4 years back then some gursikh chardi kala ppl helped me improve on... now also laziness attacks but i had to remember **farida pichal raat na jaagyoye, jeevandro mouyohe** and have to do ardaasa, then i can fight laziness... TV at all is not good... eating junk food at night doesn't allow to get up at Amritwela... Being online till late night also disturbs... should get to bed by 9:00 PM... well yeah once Amritwela becomes regular then no matter what time you goto bed... its just guru sahib kirpa but we have to put our effort and this is what we can do... We sometimes argue taking Guruji’s tuk **Mas mas kar moorakh jhagdee gyaan dhyaan nahin jaane, kaun maas kaun saak kahaave kin mein paap samaane** This is the biggest problem with us. We don’t study the whole shabad and see what is the actual meaning of Gurbani but instead we pick one phrase and starts argue. If we study this shabad completely Guru Nanak Dev ji wants to say in this shabad that the pandits (brahmins) who used to be away from meat and who used to argue for not eating meat. Their own jeevani was not upto the level that they can understand what is right or what is paap. In day time they used to argue for Maas but then they used to kill rino (gainda) to impress the gods/goddesses. At night they used to make plans how they can suck blood(cheat) other humans next day.
