  2. Its still happening folks and we as Sikhs failed to get together and do something proactive to ensure this would never happen again. Why did all the U.K Jathebandiya not listen to the above call to get together and stop beadbi once and for all? A conference was held and very few solutions were discussed and at the end of the day.. nothing got done. Turned into a shout fest. What we gonna do this time?
  3. Toe to Toe with Giani Apinderpal Singh, Sant Hari Singh or Sant Jagjit Singh Ji Harkowal Wale.. I don't think so.
  4. I think Badal Dal will get re-elected.. Badal has done way too much "seva" to be put back in power. His propoganda will work in my opinions. I could never throw any support to the Congress due to what they did in Punjab in the 1980s/90s. Thousands of innocents murdered by para-militaries, Police, and black cats through the directives given by the Punjab government of the day. They drowned the legitimate Khalistan independance movement in blood. Could never support them. Badal Dal have broken too many promises to the people. From giving justice to the victims of State violence to progressing to get the control of Punjab's waterways. They brought the Anandpur Resolution into reality and Badal himself signed it.. but have now sadly forgotten every point made under the resolution. The Badal government has blatantly been taking bribes and money from people who want to get certain positions and permissions, and its been happening for years. The Badal Dal tugs at the hearts of Sikhs to get the panthic vote but does nothing for the panth's betterment. Badal's party controlling the SGPC dosen't help. PPP. Manpreet Badal ran away from home 'cause his Uncle didn't give him the shiny chair to sit on. He took amrit years before in order to get into politics and solidify his position and quickly discarded the 5 Kakkars once he became established. A real politician who was there to benefit Punjab wouldn't have done that. He did what he had to do in order to become a politician.. a man who dosen't truly have the people's beneift in mind shouldn't be supported. At the end of the day, all of the issues that Sant Jarnail Singh Ji raised in the 70s and 80s are still issues today. I wont list all the injustices and denied rights that have been thrown at Sikh in India, but a seperate nation is the only solution if Sikhs wish to leave free with liberty and justice. Its all up to Punjab's people though.. its evident that those people don't want change, don't want betterment, don't want prosperity as every time they voice their opinion Badal or Amrinder ride in. I apologise if I said anything wrong.
  5. I like the idea, all I remember about Louis Riel is what I learned back in Grade 8 lol. If he and Che Guvera are of the same revolutionary calibre as Sant Jarnail Singh Ji then I think this is a great idea and definately something different. If it were to be just the pictures of the different figures I doubt people would recognise Sant Jarnail Singh Ji and know about him. Would it not be neccesary for some information to acompany the posters?
  6. Nirmal Kutia Johlan was a dera established by Sant Baba Basant Singh Ji in 1920. They were sent there by Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji Jiyan Wale to do Parchar of Sikhi in that area of Doaba. The current head of the Dera is Sant Baba Jit Singh Ji with their assistant being Sant Jaspal Singh Ji. Here is a breakdown of Nirmal Kutia Johlan's lineage. You will notice that the lineage goes back to Hoti Mardan. The Harkhowal dera, which is currently headed by Sant Baba Roshan Singh Ji and Sant Baba Jagjit Singh Ji (forgive me if I have forgotten another current Sant), also originate from Hoti Mardan. http://www.nirmalkut...in/lineage.html You can find more information about Nirmal Kutiya Johlan there. The sants of Nirmal Kutia strictly preach Sikhi and implore Sikhs to learn and apply the Guru's teaching and take Kandey Batey da Amrit. A lot of the Sakhis regarding the Sants of this dera are available to read on that website above.
  7. I'm not savy with the Internet, but I'd take part in this.. like the idea of doing something against false/disrespectful videos.
  8. Tell me about it Remember when Guru Granth Sahib Ji's birs were found in the well with the alchohol bottles thrown in? Well, Sikh Channel holds the open meeting to find a solution to get all this to stop happening permanantly.. there was a glimmer of hope Singhs could come together and talk about solutions and then implement them in the U.K. and India to stop beadbi. What happened? The meeting turned into a shouting match, some started bad mouthing others, it got heated and no practical solutions were decided upon by the congregation. I actually had the fool's hope. The hope that Ekta could be achieved and we as a Panth could get something done. A fool's hope.
  9. Listen to the Gurbani katha done by Sant Jagjit Singh Ji Harkowal Wale, can't knock that in any way
  10. Topid regarding this same incident has been posted in the Whats Happening section. Mods feel free to lock this thread.
  11. I believe this is a new case, I apologise if it is not. _________________________________________________________________
  12. Taken from: http://www.canadians...jab-Police.aspx - There is a photo of his body at this page and I am unable to post it here. Also posted by Sikh Organisation For Prisoners Welfare (SOPW) _________________________________________________________________________________ Barnala, Punjab (January 9, 2012) - Reports from Punjab have confirmed the death of 17 year old Veer Singh ‘Heera’ while in police custody today. According to Veer Singh’s family, their son was arrested and taken into custody for questioning by Inspector Rajesh Sunehi and 20 others on the afternoon of the 8th. The family claimed that they received no news of his whereabouts until the morning of the 9th when an unknown individual named ‘Mangat Singh’ dropped Veer Singh’s corpse off at the Barnala civil hospital. Responding to the family’s allegations that Veer Singh was tortured and killed in police custody, Inspector Sunehi plead ignorance. According to the police, the 17 year old youth was taken to a railway station and released the same night of his arrest and suspicious death. The court appointed magistrate, Jaswant Rai has since taken statements from all parties involved and said that appropriate action would be taken once results from the postmortem report are made public. The Punjab Police, notorious for it’s human rights violations, was responsible for using brutal methods to crush the Sikh Independence Movement in the 80’s and early 90’s. According to Amnesty International, “thousands of ‘disappearances‘ or extrajudicial executions were allegedly carried out by the police as part of a deliberate policy to eliminate armed opposition groups as well as their supporters.” Despite the end of militancy, extrajudicial executions and disappearances have not stopped in Punjab. The examples of Shaminder Singh Shera and Sohan Singh who were tortured and killed in police custody in 2011 are ample evidence of this fact. Reacting to the allegations of custodial murder, Moninder Singh, spokesperson of the CSC, demanded that an independent investigation take place to apprehend Veer Singh’s murderers and punish them accordingly. He went on to say that, “corruption, a lack of accountability, and discriminatory policies and tendencies against minorities breed a culture of impunity within India’s security forces. It is this culture that encourages police officers to torture and kill innocent people.”
  13. Get singhs from Panthic jathebandiya to start permanant parchar in a certain Pind. Singhs from Dam Dami Taksal come out to the western world to do Seva as Granthis/Kathavachaks/Kirtanye and then they also teach Santhiya and Kirtan while out here. Ofcourse these Singhs also have to provide for their families so they come to the western world to be able to earn a few dollars. I think its perfectly plausible to talk with Dam Dami Taksal, or Jawaddi Taksal or any other Panthic Samparda that has Gian wale Singhs and ask for 1 Singh who would do Parchar in your village while you would provide him with a salary so he is able to give back to his family. This would eliminate the Singh's need to go overseas in order to earn a sufficient amount of money for his worldly needs. Most of the larger Gurdwaras in villages have a Granthi Singh, so this Singh that you bring forth would be there to do Katha (which would teach people about the Guru's sidant and how to live their lives the Guru's way), teach Santhiya daily to all those interested, irespective of age, and teach a basic children's class where children of the village could be taught Gurmukhi, Sikhi's basic philosophies, and the negatives to the use of drugs and alchohol. Ofcourse all these classes would be free of charge. The Singhs could be brought in on 6 month tours or even permanantly if that is acceptable by them. To get people to actually take come to the Gurdwara for all these things posters could be put all around the village and surrounding area, and announcements could be made from the Gurdwara. This idea of mine is probably not perfect but its the best thing I can come up with at the moment. There are many issues to think of such as, where would this Singh stay? How will the funds be provided for his salary? (could be too much for a single person) Could you actually get a Singh from a Taksal or Jathebandi to do Parchar? But yeah, that's my idea
  14. Great news! Hopefully someone brings Dhunda's views on Jap Sahib to the Akal Thakt's attention so that he is forced to pay for all his misdeeds. He should not be allowed to do parchar in any Gurdwara and hopefully sangat in B.C don't allow him to continue his Katha over at Dashmesh Darbar in Surrey.
  15. I remember Khalsa Aid posting on here before saying that they were open to having a Panthic jathabandi to teach the gurmat programs and I also asked on this forum in a thread wether anyone had ties or relations with anyone from Damdami Taksal, Jawaddi Taksal, AKJ etc, and I didn't get a single reply. We have take an initiative to get those Jathebandhis to work with Khalsa Aid in teaching the Sikh youth, unless we want Missionary Schools run by the likes of Dhunda and Gagga to be teaching the kids. Again, if someone has good relations with a Panthic Jathebandi or Samparda try and get them to work with Khalsa Aid to teach the Sikh Youth.
  16. We need to let these Gurdwaras know who he really is..
  17. He is in Toronto Canada right now, my home area. It's some really small Gurdwara in a trailer, been there like once in my life.
  18. Bebe Nanaki's house, under SGPC control, razed to ground within the years 2001-2003 http://news.ukpha.or...-by-custodians/ Rights to broadcasting Gurbani from Harimandar Sahib given to PTC Punjabi (Badal's channel). The agreed terms were never met, 2 Crore 1 Lakh to be taken in the start of the deal, 50 lakh to be taken every year, and a 10% commision to be taken which amounts to 1100 Crore. SGPC allowed PTC Punjabi to have the rights to broadcast but did not ensure that these huge payments were taken. Raghbir Singh - Former Secretary of the SGPC talking about the misuse of funds and misdeeds being commited by the SGPC. http://www.sikhsiyas...al-dal-leaders http://www.sikhsiyas...gh_on_accounts/ Full length documentary made by Panch Pardani about the misdeeds of the SGPC. Greatly recommend watching this, they show a lot of the instances where the SGPC is guilty for misuse of funds. http://www.sikhsiyas...regime-in-sgpc/ Sorry I didn't post proof beforehand. I'll try to find more if I can.
  19. Badal directly controls the SGPC.. the policy makers for Sikhs around the world. The SGPC is making decisions that are anti-panthic. Badal is supporting anti-Sikh preachers (Noormehl, Chuta Sauda, Naamdhari, etc.) as well as the perpetrators of human rights abuses such as K.P Gill and Izhar Alam, not by just allowing them to walk free, but by giving them positions in politics. The 2008 protests in Ludhiana agains the admittance of Noormehal pakhandi into Punjab by Badal's governement, a person who did great nindiya of Sikhi, were stopped with extreme police brutality, resulting in the death of one individual. The police did not even let people take the wounded from the street to hospital. Is Badal not responcible for that anti-panthic episode? Pedorizzo, I also implore you to watch that video if you have not already done so. All human rights abuses covered in that video are from 2010-2011, during the reign of Badal. Allowance of human rights abuses and impunity for perpretrators is cultivated by Parkash Badal.. and thats immensely anti-panthic. I'd rather take a non-corrupt Sikh party. Maybe when the people rise up that might be a reality.
  20. Totally agree with you. Manpreet Badal should be called out and be held accountable for his visit to Chuta Sauda.. well if he considers himself a Sikh. Parkash Badal, his son, and other Shiromani "Akali" Dal leaders visited Chuta Sauda in January of 2007, but the Jathedar doesn't think that warrants even a little warning? Mrs. Badal can visit Ashutosh without any repercussions? Parkash Badal's government can practice police brutality in Ludhiana, against Sikhs protesting the admittance into Punjab of an anti-Sikh "holy man", but not get called out for it by the Akal Thakt? Now that is an extremely lacking list of things the Badal family is responsible for.. but is that what it takes to earn the title of "Panth Rattan Faqar-e-quam" ? I'm a part of the Panth, and I for sure am not proud of that disease.
  21. Jathedar of Akal Thakt has said before that Parkash Badal visited Chuta Sauda before he became Jathedar and therefor he cannot deal with it. The Jathedar said he is only obligated to deal with issues that have risen since he has become Jathedar. Using Jathedar Sahib's logic, he shouldn't pursue any justice for the victims of the 1984 attack and genocide since those events took place before he was given the position of Jathedar. But alas, the fools elected the ringmaster, and it seems they like 'em enough to let 'em keep his seat.
  22. I posted about the "Gurbani" program on here before too. There is a lot of this anti-Gurmat stuff on Television saturday's in Canada.. its really alarming. There is no chardikala programing that shows people the reality of Sikhi to sangat on television here. No one from Toronto, or Canada for that matter, has done anything to stop either Sardari TV or "Gurbani" show from providing the audiences with false and often obsurd information about Sikhi.
