Fateh Ji Most surnames used by sikhs today have a link to the caste system or hindu faith, the surnames have no spritual quality as it was not bestowed on you by the guru sahibs, your firstname on the other hand was bestowed on you by Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj. Once you take amrit di daat and accept Guru Gobind Singh as your father and Mata Sahib Kaur as your mother, then why do you keep a different family name? Adopt the same surname/title of Singh as your Guru pita Guru Gobind Singh or Kaur for the bibiya as did Mata Sahib Kaur. I agree keep kara in your dastar or kamarkasa, i wrap my kirpan in kamarkasa when i do martial arts as i have had it stab into me few times when i fall to the ground lol, nihang singhs always have panj shastar in dhumala to keep reyat when going midaaneh, aslong as you have kara on your body your not doing anything wrong.

Fateh Ji I dont think the organisers are totally at fault as they choose the talkers they think are decent but their views can be weird once they are at the camp. As for the talkers bhai butta singh from bham did a talk there and we all know he is a panthic singh who does great seva, as for the other talkers we all know that the american sikhs have their weird but sometimes fresh ideology. As for the sevadars who cut their kesh, i have personally seen litterally 10-100 people from soho road gurdwara mainly bibiya who pluck and bleach their kesh after taken amrit why do we not bring up their issues????

Sangat Ji i think we should not jump to conclucions, the gurdwara sahib/school maybe doing things wrong but that does not mean the sikh student organisers are the same far from it form what i have heard from campers and sevadars at the camp. Ive heard about so much beabhi being done at the khalsa school where recently the AKJ did a program, this does mean the AKJ are doing beabhi???? Its up to the comittees or everyday sevadars to uphold the satkar of the gurdwara sahib

Alot of the original Johalwale gurdwara sevadars around UK do not accept the current sant as a sant or believe he has fallen from the true path that the previous sants walked on. I have never met the current sant so i cannot comment but the maryada at these gurdwaras are really good.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Swami Ji is a true man of God, a sant, Men of God are Men of God no matter what path thay take they see the love of of God in all, when i see such a mixture of sangat it reminds me of pictures of Guru Nanak Dev Ji doing sangat with the siddhis, yogis, peers fakirs. Fateh Ji Anything that you take that has not been earn't honestly is tokha and is a sin, there are plenty of alternatives for the main stream software products we use i.e. open office instead of microsoft office, avg antivirus instead of mcafee antivirus an so on.... We really have no excuse in using illegal copies of software, i can understand the arguement if you state you use the software solely for seva purposes i.e. creating sikhi posters and web sites as all belongs to the guru anyway but if it is used for our own lives, jobs, study then please think again as dharam raaj will have a record all all our accounts. Fateh Ji I think we have no clear right to say anything in the current situation unless we are involved in great detail. I only know 100% that Oldbury gurdwara has probably the best marayada ive seen in any UK gurdwara since ever, but was told by some singhs involved in the situation that claims against ownership of the gurdwara and funds were made by people???? which should never have been made because the previous sant maha pursh stated the gurdwara property only for the sangat. I wasnt told in great detail if the current sant has fallen? because the sevadar were more interested in doing seva, but i got the understanding that each one of us even sants can fall to ego...so we should concentrate on ourselves and enjoy and appriciate the maryade given to us by maharaaj
