  1. Where is Guru Arjan saying "I don't do kundalini yoga"? Stop putting words into Guru ji's mouth! (but then again one of the moderators are putting words in my mouth in my warnings lol) Next you will be saying that guru ji said "I don''t do shastar training" Do you know Guru Gobind Singh used to do shastar puja as well? There is also bani called shastarnaam mala.
  2. one of the admins on that group are a bit messed in the head, he will ban you for writing stuff that doesn;t agree with him. The group owner Bob Singh can't even be bothered with the group anymmore. The group used to be good. There are a few other groups like that on facebook, but they have normal admins that respect your views.
  3. if you are amrit-dhari, why are you making girlfriend or boyfriend? Isn't that like contradicting the fact you are trying to not go against tradition? (You want to remain traditional by marrying someone your family wants yet making a partner without doing marital ceremony or anand karaj is like very untraditional) By the way, I made a more detailed post as being gupt, but for some reasons admins don't like it when someone posts about amrit-dharis dating in the GUPT section. Kinda makes me think what kinda advice they want to give out, or perhaps there are admins involved in such activites??? :o "I recently heard of a gursikh husband and wife from the UK that have spilt up because the wife had strong feelings for her previous boyfriend! she would not stop keeping in contact with him way into her marriage and their relationship paid the price, taking this into consideration dont you think it would have been best for her to marry the first guy! and not waste time with this new guy!" Forget the fact she didn't marry the first guy! Don;t do sangat of people who show themselves to be religious like being amrit-dhari, and then do this boyfriend/girlfriend stuff. I learnt the hardish way. Like when I was younger I thought it would be wrong to ever ask out amrit-dhari person, and then look at what I see happening in front of me when I step out of the gora areas and into the asian areas :o ....never again will I be able to like kuris that do this stuff Nowadays it doesn't shock me as much when religious people do dating partnerships. I guess not all of us traditional indian families are religious, but at least we aren't into these liberal behaviour, and most of all we are dharmik. Basically, you want to practise dharam by getting married to someone your family suports. yet, this dating stuff is adharmik. And that UK lady, she was doing one adharmik thing after another. IF you want to be religious, then please also learn to be dharmik. Dharam is very very important for a sikh. and THANKS admins for not letting me do real-life posts like this as GUPT :| :6
  4. i guess if people are going to be amrit-dhari they should also learn some humility instead of pushing away other human beings. Didn;t guru jis preach equality?
  5. some of the so-called religious families these days are so liberal that I seriously can't be bothered anymore :|
  6. Yes Guru Gobind Singh taught Kirpal Dass the simple Varhaar (wild boar) pentra. It is the pentra that was taught to the inexperienced singhs that came from the pinds. This simple pentra allowed smashing the opposing weapon followed by smashing the opposing person. But another version of the story I have heard actually consisted of Guru ji joking about with the udaasi sadhus about joining the fight (since they were sadhus who had never picked up a weapon). The udaasis ran away except for Kirpal Dass, who had taken Guru Sahib seriously. Guru ji told him he was joking, but Kirpal Dass said he had taken it as Guru hukam. so this is when Guru ji taught Kirpal Dass the pentra. When Kirpal Dass went on to face Hayat Khan, Hayat Khan saw Kirpal Dass as being just a sadhu instead of a kshatriya/warrior such as a nihang singh they were laughing at him. But Kirpal Dass riled him up and got Hayat Khan ro come and attack him. This led to Hayat Khan attacking recklessly because he wasn't worried. This is when Kirpal Dass used the skills he had learnt from the pentra Khan's sword and then his head.
  7. If Gurdass Mann wouldn;t have a problem , and also since its Canada, then why did they cancel the concert? What is Adil Ray's problem (if he really meant what it seems), his surname is Ray, is he punjabi then? Also complain directly to the BBC, and lets get him to apologise at least
  8. I hear that, even though we can bring raag kirtan back, the actual raag vidiya from Guru jis has been lost. but still, it is all good, bringing raag kirtan back would be excellent :D
  9. we r not supposed to have ethnic origin because we don't believe in castes?!?! (well according to many users on this site)
  10. ooo never mind i am back :D:D

  11. haww bloody eck, ooo i see i ain;t under moderation any more :D
  12. hi just came back for this article. i know har har is used in sikhi, and is the 2nd part of waheguru. I am unsure about mahadev and what context guru ji has used it in bani. I know mahakaal is ok and Guru Ram Dass ji's sone was called mahadev, would Guru ji use this name if it was against us? http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Baba_Mahadev
  13. since u mentioned me, i might as well reply lol :D "they're absolutely not part of the Khalsa panth, and i personally don't see them as Sikhs, though "sanatan" sikhs consider them to be Sikhs." I do know an udasi, he considers himself a sikh but not a Sikh, just like I do lol. And yes they may not be part of the khalsa fauj, although I believe they did fight as well. ALthough, there are different contexts the term khalsa maybe used. "they consider Guru Nanak Dev ji to be an avatar of Vishnu." hmmm..... Gur Nānak ḏėv govinḏ rūp. ||8||1|| "the nang site "<banned site filter activated>" will also have info on them, but i don't know how reliable it is." name calling lool :gg:
  14. did maharaja ranjit singh get lashes cos he married a muslimaani? I am sure it is against rehit to sleep with muslimaan female, unless of course he's not amrit-shak.
  15. What about those follow Guru Nanak or sikh panth, and this sikh"ism", can they be called sikhs, or perhaps you are talking about Sikhs? I do not know of Guru Nanak asking his sikhs to belong to a faith? A muslim can follow the Gurus, such as as Pir Nanak or uch ka pir Guru Gobind Singh. The fact is, not everyone is limited by relgious constructs, and before the british raaj, they definetly weren't. This abrahmic ideology of religion/faith doesn't apply to sikhs and hindus. A person doesn't need to belong to a religion to follow Guru Ji, religion is just like having a caste, and divides humans at a more global level than caste ever did. well yes, I know british also used the martial race term to describe sikhs as well. I can use sikh as a label, so whats wrong with a sikh from a jatt background. It doesn't make me feel superior, its just being honest. Would you like someone to come up with a loophole where you're not allowed to be called an american sikh? I wonder how the native american tribes would feel if they were banned from using their tribal names? Well if we are students of the Guru, then does that make it a religion, student"ism"? I do not see whether calling myself sikh or not changes being a follower of the Gurus. I maybe a sikh, but I'll never be a Sikh. A sikh maybe a discple, but a Sikh is a division, which I don't really see any differently from caste. Ditto :D

  18. Yes why not? I wouldn't take someones excuse that they have taken amrit and so all is forgiven. I would allow the excess baggage no matter what! lol Not all people suddenly get values just by taking amrit, it doesn't always change a persons character. But nevertheless, even if people do become good, they'll never be able to shift the excess baggage.
