I think its high time for a sikh channel!!... People with resources should come forward. Provide sangat all over the world, coverage of sikh kirtans and samagams, free from the clutches of the lkes of badal. 'm sure there are plenty of enterprising sikhs who can make this happen. Just need to put a bit of effort into it. Then we dont need etc or z tv to beam biased shows.

I agree fully to S1NGH veerji. Unlike Uk, America is huge and sikhs are not easily visible minority here. We really need to have a Youth Network, who are active in their gurughars. So whenever something like this happens the word could be spread and sangat can come togther. In florida i personally beleive that sangat should try to contact the source from where Guruji will be brought. If it is an individual/gurughar except for the parties involved, they should be pressurized. There was also mention of similar thing happening in santa clara, california on aug 5. What are updates on it. Did somebody contacted those folks? I'm sure those ppl will get stiff opposition, as bayarea has one of the best sangat. May Guruji give sense to all these ppl.

It is OUR problem and WE are responsible for it. We dont want to work ourselves and like cheap labour. Moreover politicians find these immigrants more tempting for their votes. There should be a provision to how many outsiders can come and work in punjab and give prefrence to punjabis over bhaiyas, just like the states of Haryana and Himachal pardesh do. In those states prefrence is given the the state resident. MOreover i feel the train network in punjab is bane for us. bhayias mostly travel without any tickets in trains. They board from bihar and reach to punjab in masses. The state of himachal pardesh has been spared from this onslaught because it does not have any major train network. I still remeber during one of my conversations with a buddy, years ago about getting ration cards (equivalent to state ids). He moved to chandigarh from amritsar and was having trouble getting one. A bhaiya whitewashing our house overheard and asked us how many do we need. We were stunned to hear it coming from him. These guys get ration cards the moment they alight from the trains. Politicians help them out by getting free forged ration cards and getting votes in return. We need some better leadership in punjab to thwart this menance. Also ppl need to realise whom they vote for. They always vote for a party or the one ditributing max. booze. One of our college Prof. stood for local election and was defeated badly. People dont understand the long term impact. If we keep voting for scums who make policies for bhaiyas, they'll keep stepping on us. We need to vote for educated folks who can make policies favouring punjabis.

Personally I think more sikhs should be representing us in govt. offices. Police, fire fighters etc. There is lack of TURBANED sikhs in all those places. Pritam singhji, look out for openings in california highway patrol. I really wanted to join police force, but since i'm not a citizen yet, so have to wait for that. But those who can should go for it. Sikhs have been in western countries for so long, but still majority of them dont go to law enforcement or other places. Its about time the youth made our presence felt and represent sikhs in good light by being a cop or firefighter.

Even i've heard some negatives about bittu from old pp. But since i cant confirm it so it wont be decent to malign him. I agree with kurtas that most of the Real fighters were kiled and the way bittu survived and was released, does raise some eyebrows..... we cant trust anyone as these police cats have crept into all the sikh institutions....

i dont think it was any attack. It must have been one of those RSS grand stunts that they keep pulling every now and then..... 3 guys with ak47 and greandes were killed while none of others were. Ak47 is very potent weapon. Even if they fired and threy grenades indiscriminantly, they might have popped couple of RSS guys. But none were...... i hardly believe their story.....

The thing that surprises me is that punjab doesnt even have as much christian population as state of kerela, which has not banned the movie. Neither did govt. of india itself banned it. Then why was punjab govt. so keen on doing so? If it was done in the intrests of minorirty community, then it is good, but i highly doubt that. The influence of christian missionries is considerable in border belt of gurdaspur,batala and pathankot.... There was even news of a gurudwara granthi adopting christianity with all his family in retaliation to treatment from sgpc. It is weird how politics influences every naunce of the society.

Its amazing how fast did the Govt. of punjab rushed to ban the movie, whereas people had to force them to do same for much hyped Bole So Nihal.

I dont think kicking out vedaanti from taskt will serve anything..... if we really have to solve the deterioiration of panth we've to attack at the roots. People like badal and other so called leaders have to be tackled. We'll remove one vedanti, but as long badal is there, he'll prop up another one... There is no simple solution.

I think these corrupt ppl are trying to make maryada more and more ambiguous so that they can go around doing their kartoots under the name of maryada.... I feel maryada should be made more elaborate on certain vital issues. Rest SGPC is a gurudwara parbhandhak committe... who gave them the right to tamper with maryada of the panth. I'm not against braces... but i feel its the reason behind getting one that matters... some get them as they might be unable to eat, probably after an accident.... but most use it for cosmetic value... even with thir crooked teeth they can eat but they have low self esteem and want to get better good looking teeth. I personally think weakness lies within us..... these western leaders only understand the language of $$$..... They'll doo anything for money..... Sikhs need to force indian prime minister to coerce chirac on lifting the ban...... IF India calls sikhs as its citizens then it should rise to the occasion for protecting their right... Moreover manmohan singh should feel the pain... what if he is asked to take off his turban , next time he visits france........ India has multibillion dollar deals in pipeline with france..... All he has to do is to tell chirac either you change your laws or we are not doing any business with you.... I'm 101% sure, if france is given such a hint the law will be scrapped very next day.... Mr Kulwant Singh alias Sarpanch of Lohgarh who was shown killed in 1990 worked as ‘police cat’ for Nawan Shahr police. Jagdev Singh Happy who was arrested and then shown dead in an encounter on October 8 in 1990 was used by the Jalandhar police. The Akal Federation alleged that Dr Sohan Singh, case head of the Panthic Committee was actually caught from Nepal alongwith other militants. While Dr Sohan Singh was shown arrested from Mohali others were shown arrested from other places. Mr Narain Singh gave a long list of militants who later were used by the police to fight militancy.

So called great comedian jaspal singh bhatti has apoligised from VHP for "HURTING SENTIMENTS OF HINDUS"..... does anyone in India has more information about what this insult was... What is with this guy..... who doesnt feels sorry for misreprsenting sikhs as jokers in bollywood films but is quick to lick the feet of VHP goons.
