  1. I have heard the slippers were brought back and kept in some Gurdwara Sahib in an area known as Bahawlpur now in Pakistan. whats the point of keeping a great man's slippers for show ?? waste of time people are bowing to them, idol worship. like i said if you want to no bout Guru Nanak dev jee then read what he wrote, dont look at his slippers, they might not even be his for all we no. Its a matter of sentimental value.

  3. I may just end up going to that. Its been going on for years and is its hella fun. After the kirtan they usually have a parade around Downtown LA.
  4. All I have seen is talk from our community. Nobody actually has the courage to stand up to it. I was not any different from any of you on this topic, but I finally decided to do something. In my deep thought I realized we must learn from these missionaries and begin our own missionary work. At this time most of us dont have the resources to go door to door so we must search for other solutions. Printing paper and everything is wasteful. We must use the Internet to promote the Sikh tradition. At this point my friend and I are in the process of setting up a web portal in order to promote sikhi to different groups and expose people to sikh ideas. Missionaries are a sick reality and there success is the result of our own failed instuitions and attitudes. Forget SGPC or any other pseudo-panthic organization. The power of Sikhi lies within the youth. It is up to us to preserve and spread the ideas of Guru Nanak.
  5. Just do it secretly. No one notices them being put there and nobody is gonna miss them. As a Sikh you have the right to act what you feel is in line with Sikh teachings. Just keep quiet about it and nobody is gonna say anything. Best, kuthaman
  6. I thank you for placing them accordingly. There is a lot of great files I have available and I will try to supplement your collection with what I have. I really want people to learn about Sikhi and you folks have read my mind when it comes to this website. I wish you the best and I hope my contributions will help! I have one question for you is it possible to upload files larger than 20 megabytes because I have the Heritage of the Sikhs by Harbans Singh and two books on Baba Farid by Balwant Singh Anand and Gurbachan Singh Talib. Kuthaman
  7. Hey I just uploaded Gurbachan Singh Talib's Guru Gobind Singh's Impact in Indian Society and the story of French Sikh Convert. How long does it take for you all to update it?
  8. Sorry about the delay I have been busy with Exams. Here it is: Some books available for sale about Sikh Theology http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResu...amp;x=0&y=0 Here is some online articles on Sikh Theology. http://www.sikhnetwork.org/viewfile.php?fid=6 http://www.moranwali.net/USERIMAGES/Sikh%20Theology.doc http://www.sikhcoalition.org/SikhismTheology.asp (this website has so many articles on Sikh Theology) Best of Luck!!
  9. I will have a list for you by tonight.
  10. I dont really care much for the SGPC or any other organization claiming to represent Sikhism we gotta do it ourselves. Educate yourself and than teach others thats the key to success for Sikhism. It doesnt really take much my friend took his Tamil Christian friend to Gurdwara and he was mesmerized. The dude couldnt stop talking about how wonderful the feeling felt and how different it was from anything hes experienced before. Honestly if people seem lost in life or down start talking about Sikhi. It may change the persons life. Remeber when introducing the message its not about converting but introducing people to the truth. People usually end of converting themselves.
  11. Here is another story of a Sikh girl who converted to Islam. http://www.asianimage.co.uk/northwest/4178...lost_my_faith_/
  12. Best post so far. Thanks for such a deep response!
  13. Jesus was probably not resurrected. There was a cult in the Mediterranean in the Roman Empire known as Cybele and Attis. Cybele was the mother of the god Attis. Attis eventually died and was resurrected according to myth on Easter and his Birthday was on December 25th. Eventually to convert people the ancient gods became changed with Christian names. If you want to validate these statement search Sir James Frazer.
  14. Let me say this much I personally consider my self a convert. There was a time when I knew nothing about Sikhi or any religion now I have the ability to tear apart any other faith that dares to challenge Sikhism. What demoniation of Christianity is bothering I will give you sources and information that can rip there world view to shreds. PM as soon as possible and I look forward to working with you. Its hard to work within the framework of Sikhi sometimes to refute arguments. In some cases I know more about Islam and Christianity than there believers. There is enough British thinkers that have torn apart Christianity that most people dont just know about. There arguments will bring these Evangelical Fags to there knees. Gur Fateh, Kuthaman Ive been wanting to write this for a while but I plan to post an article on the secret history of Christianity. It will give you the evidence you need to fight back in argument and then pose ideas to show the superior nature of the Sikh faith.

  16. Congrads and since I guess your kinda marrying into a Sikh family I urge you to explore the mission of Guru Nanak. I am sure you can learn a lot and it will enrich your life. Best of Luck!!!
  17. The one thing my friend said to some stupid kashmiri paki dude. 5....4...3...2....1 BOOOMMMMM
  18. Also show her this website its about sikh girls forced to convert to islam and by all means please show her the Personal Stories section its pretty damn bad what some of these girls have been through. Please don't take offense to any of my comments. I mean not make any particular religion look bad or anything for its against the message of our beloved Gurus. http://www.whyichosesikhism.com/
  19. I have a habit of keeping tabs on these End of Day Cults(Evangelical Christians). I have noticed a trend where a lot of Sikhs seem to be converting to Christianity in Southeast Asia. These churches have plans to evangelize the world. They cannot accept the fact that people are happy outside of Christianity. They want to convert everyone because they believe the world is ending and Jesus Christ is gonna come back and redeem them all. As for the girl going after the Muslim Guy. Bring up the stories from Sikh history. The major story I would begin with is Guru Arjan Dev Ji and how he was boiled alive and hot sand poured on him yet he didnt give up his faith. Guru Tegh Bahadur on the other hand gave his head because he refused to give his faith. The best way is to describe the brutality they suffered. Bhai Mani Singh was chopped up piece by piece and he never thought about giving up his faith. Heres a list of some other MArtyrs and some pictures. Best of luck in your quest. All these people converting out of the faith is the sign of weak leadership on the parts of the Sikhs. These fools that call themselves leaders are the same as the fools that Guru Nanak preached out against. Remember the action lies within in your hands. Sikhism is a religion of the masses. When 2-3 sikhs are present they the right to make decisions for the panth. Invoke different some of these stories about how the different martyrs gave their lives and these fools will recongize what they have lost or are about to lose. Bhai MAti Das http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bhai_Mati_Das.jpg Bhai Sati Das http://greatsikhism.com/BhaiSatiDasJi.bmp Other Sikh Martyrs http://greatsikhism.com/sikhmartyrs.html Here are some other sources on addressing challenges to other faiths especially Islam and Christianity. http://www.sikhingtruth.com/
  20. What is Gobind Sadan. I watched some of there videos and it seems they are some what on the main path for sikhi. Its not as bad as radhasoami stuff, but still I am a little apprehensive when they state all prophets are the same. Curious if any one has any information. I really am curious to find out if they fall under the label of cult.
  21. There is a whole controversey how these folks twist history. Distortion of history is big in India.
  22. There are two Sikh Studies Programs in California. The one at UC Santa Barbara is the most prestigious and there is one at UC RIverside, and other one possibliy starting up at CSU Channel Islands. The Riverside and Santa Barbara are not free from controversy though . PM me for more information.
  23. I was at my University Library and I met this girl that has the last name Singh, but she doesnt look a damn close to a punjabi. I asked her if she knew what Singh meant or the origin of the name, but she kept reiterating that she was more filipino. I find it odd that these muts lose their identity. I have come across a Sikh guy that keeps kesh and is half filipino. So I am sure some people mantain their identity while others lapse in to their majority culture. Have any of you come across people of Sikh descent that have lost there identities.
