  1. Wjkk Wjkf Jeo How lucky indeed!! They get to listen to Gurbani 24/7 at the holiest of the holy places! I am jealous Fateh ji!
  2. Wjkk Wkf jeo, Sunny veer jee, I'm a nobody, certainly not worthy of such praise. Yourself, freed, talikhaak, pheena all os you are infinetly wiser than me, whenever I read their posts, it makes me feel so glad that there are people out there who have such high avastha and let me tell you as long as we have esteemed people like yourself and the countless others I haven't mentioned, sikhi is just going to get stronger and stronger, please keep inspiring people like me who still have millions other spiritual concepts to learn! Btw, thanks a lot for the links veer jeo, gyani ji has done immense seva and I hope it gets appreciated! Fateh ji!
  3. Wjkk Wjkf Jeo, Im afraid indian media is hijacking true Khalsa identity and there is hardly anything thats being done about it. Speeches, protests and the like have seem to led to nothing I was watching this debate on Dasam Granth recorded from Alpha Tv sometime ago, and when the Dasam Granth defender put his case, that hindu presenter had such a sarcastic smile on his face, later said: dont you think Sikhs are over sensitive? I mean, what sort of a reply is that? Either the guy had not done his research properly, or (more likely) he was just ridiculing Sikh sentiments, a form of which is such junk star tv and zee tv programs. Waheguru Bhull Chukk Maaf, Fateh!
  4. Wjkk Wjkf Jeo, I agree, piracy is a big issue, and while im not going to claim i dont listen to downloaded audio, I think such Sewa should be encouraged by actually getting the originals and paying the due respect to the developers so they can carry on doing the good work. This has got me thinking - what about the kirtan we download off the net? I know some of it is nishkaam sewa, and thats alright but what about the Raagi Singhs who would expect some sort of revenue from the sales of their CDs/DVDs? For all we know, it might be one of the few sources of livelihood for them? I am feeling guilty now Bhull Chukk Maaf
  5. Wjkk Wjkf Jeo, Nice, thought-provoking issue Phenji.. I agree with harsimran kaur phenji, a copy of guidelines should be given along with the copy of Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji, stating its not merely a 'sacred text' but is considered Guruji by sikhs and these sentiments should be respected. My guess is a significant population of people who go to read/cite Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji in libraries could be from non-sikhi background, maybe someone might be a student of comparitive religion or just plainly interested in reading more about the Sikhi message. These are the people that need to be told the ethics of handling a copy of Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji, whereas Sikhs should already know about this. Also, I think libraries should be guided to have a seperate section where Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji is read with as much rehit as possible, i.e, covering head, taking off shoes etc. I know it sounds impractical and hard for libraries to take this rule on, but with a little bit of persuasion, we just might get this implemented? Adding to this, i think Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji should be reference only, that way at least some sort of better respect can be shown to the Guruji? Bhull Chukk Maaf, Fateh Ji
  6. Wjkk Wjkf Jeo, This is indeed a rather odd case. AS Nehmat ji said, were you born in a sikh family or are you a convert? If you are from a sikh family, then it is most unfortunate that your own parents are telling you to cut your kes. What exactly is the reason they dont like you in your sikhi swaroop? If you can provide us with a bit more detail, maybe someone from here can guide you what to do? Fateh ji
  7. kbIr swcw siqguru mY imilAw sbdu ju bwihAw eyku ] kabeer saachaa sathigur mai miliaa sabadh j baahiaa eaek || Kabeer, the True Guru has met me; He aimed the Arrow of the Shabad at me. lwgq hI Buie imil gieAw pirAw klyjy Cyku ]157] laagath hee bhue mil gaeiaa pariaa kalaejae shhaek ||157|| As soon as it struck me, I fell to the ground with a hole in my heart. ||157|| Wjkk Wjkf Jeo, I think Bhagat Kabir ji is using arrow as a metaphor to explain the eternal wisdom of the True and Complete Guru and the Power of His Word. Bhagat Ji says the the arrow of the Word of Wisdom of the All-Knowing Guru 'struck' (affected) my heart so much so that 'I' meaning my ego and arrogance just shattered to pieces and I (as a person), just fell on the ground (meaning became humble and modest) and on Guru's feet, surrendering myself from deep within. kbIr gUMgw hUAw bwvrw bhrw hUAw kwn ] kabeer goo(n)gaa hooaa baa//aa beharaa hooaa kaan || Kabeer, I have become mute, insane and deaf. pwvhu qy ipMgul BieAw mwirAw siqgur bwn ]193] paavahu thae pi(n)gul bhaeiaa maariaa sathigur baan ||193|| I am crippled - the True Guru has pierced me with His Arrow. ||193|| Again, according to my tuchh budhh - Kabir Ji says with that hit, for rest of the world I have become mute, crazy, deaf, and crippled meaning Mute: I dont speak ill of anyone. Crazy: my mind is all in tune with the True name of the Akal Purakh, thats why to people Ive gone crazy. Deaf: I dont hear ill of anyone from anyone. Crippled: My feet dont take me on the wrong path anymore. i.e i think Kabir Ji means that the True Guru has destructed the evil side of me with His Word of immense Wisdom.. kbIr siqgur sUrmy bwihAw bwnu ju eyku ] kabeer sathigur sooramae baahiaa baan j eaek || Kabeer, the True Guru, the Spiritual Warrior, has shot me with His Arrow. lwgq hI Buie igir pirAw prw kryjy Cyku ]194] laagath hee bhue gir pariaa paraa karaejae shhaek ||194|| As soon as it struck me, I fell to the ground, with a hole in my heart. ||194|| Kabir Ji compares the Great Wise Guru as a Warrior that has acted as a saviour by destroying my ego and arrogance with blow of his True Word and the message, which has made me willingly submit myself at His feet (have accepted his Word of Wisdom whole heartedly ?).. I just cannot do any justice to any Gurbani Tuk and for all I know I might be very wrong in interpreting the tukks, please forgive me for my mistakes.. Bhull chukk Maaf again ji Fateh! PS: Harsimran Kaur phenji, looks like you are new to the the site, so a big warm hello to you!! are you really from Finland? Wow, didnt know we had sikhs there too, niceness!!! :D

  13. Wjkk Wjkf jeo I am not the right person to reply to this message being a non-amritdhari (yet), but I can tell you what I know, you cannot seperate kakkars from your body while sleeping. If you are going to bed, you cannot take your kirpan off and hang it like normal clothes, its a ang of your body after amrit shakkna. About the other question, i know nothing about that sorry! Fateh ji!

  17. Wjkk Wjkf sangat ji http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BZvSy5gCauY http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Hhth-hHsgFc http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=T52mrnyWHmE This guy is totally messed up, i dont know if i should be angry or just laugh at his ignorance! Just check out his other videos, it seems like hes got waaay too much free time on his hands! I called him just now to ask why he is hell bent on distorting facts but he didnt seem to be interested in reasoning it out with me! :S Waheguru!! Edited: Don't post anyone's address, phone number etc. on this forum. EDIT: Sorry, didnt realise its against the rules! :S
  18. Wjkk Wjkf Ji As far as Im aware, British Library keeps copies of every book that is published in the UK and Ireland. You can ring the British Library and see what they have to say about this Fateh ji

  20. Wjkk Wjkf Wow, this is soo sad! Whats happening to this world, so much hate and prejudice! Waheguru Mehr karo pleeaaase!
  21. Wjkk Wjkf Ji This is a good sewa for people in india! All the best, and if I may add, keep it nishkaam veer ji! Fateh !
  22. Wjkk Wjkf Ji Absolutely, I totally agree with you. Exceptions can/should be made in case someone is not physically fit to sit on the floor but that should be the end of it. Humility/Humbleness is the idea behind sitting on the floor in langar and if that is not practiced then arent we breaking the langar maryada started by Guruji himself? Im sorry to say but this whole business of treating gurdwaras as community centers n all should be stopped, its meant to be Guru Da Ghar not some 'place to chillout'. May Waheguruji give some sumatt to singhs and kaurs! Bhull Chukk MAaf ji
  23. Wjkk Wjkf Ji The one down at cannock road, wolverhampton has got tables and chairs in langar hall, which is the reason i dont feel like shakkna langar at that gurdwara sahib, (all respect to guru ji tho!)
  24. Wjkk Wjkf Ji I like your nimarta phen ji I am going to copy this and send it to my friends! Fateh ji!
