hehe, yahoo, google and other search engines send their spiders to crawl all around the web jeo, including SikhSangat The technique is called 'Web Crawling', it basically indexes important keywords from links that later on appear in the search engine results -
Haanji, it never occoured to me but now that you mention it could very well be a possibility The title does have a bir-rassi element to it, maybe that was intentional? Saadhukari isnt very difficult to comprehend, compared to say Brij Bhakha which is common language used by Nirmale poets and writers of that period. But if we compare it to conversational Punjabi as we know it today, it does takes some time to learn and getting used to, mostly because of its unconventional and long sentence structure.. its quite different from conversational punjabi. It also uses quite few hindi/sanskrit/brij bhasha words, and it does help if one has some knowledge of these languages. Perhaps these languages are blended in together in Saadhukari so that saints/writers/intellectuals from other states that have different vernacular can understand it also.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Guru Roop Sangat Jeo, By Guru Sahibs Grace here is Garab Ganjani (Teeka of Sri JapJi Sahib) by Kavi Santokh Singh Ji: GARAB GANJANI TIKA, by Bhai Santokh Singh, is an exegesis in the Nirmala tradition of Guru Nanak`s Japu. The commentator, a celebrated poet and chronicler and author of the monumental Sri Gur Pratap Suraj Granth, completed the work, his only one in prose, in 1886 Bk/AD 1829. Whereas all his poetic works are written in Braj, this one is in Sadhukari. Santokh Singh undertook the writing of this commentary at the behest of his patron Ude Singh (d. 1843), the ruler of Kaithal, who, dissatisfied with an earlier tika by an Udasi sadhu, Anandghana, had wished a fresh one to be prepared. The original manuscript of Garab Ganjani Tika is preserved in the Dr Balbir Singh Sahitya Kendra at Dehra Dun. It was first published in AD 1910 and again, with certain corrections and punctuations, in 1961. The latter edition comprises 184 printed pages. The work opens with an invocation to God, followed by couplets eulogizing first the Ten Gurus and then Sarasvati, the goddess of learning. The poet salutes his mentor Giani Sant Singh whom he had in his younger days heard expound this text. This also explains how he had come to launch on this Tika. He brings out the majestic sublimity of the Japu and alludes to its general popularity. These explanations occupy all of the first four pages; the exegesis proper begins at page 5. Towards the end of the work, there are four couplets explaining the title of the work:Garab Ganjam Tika is Tika or exegesis that dispels and eradicates (ganjam = that which eradicates) arrogance (garb = pride). The exegesis is proffered in the form of a gosti. The Sikh, herein called mumokhi, i.e. one who is a seeker of mokh or release, puts questions to the Guru as to how he can attain liberation and the Guru answers those questions. Thanks for the reality check Veerjeo i couldnt sleep properly last night after having made the above comments.. perhaps because they are stinking of haumai, or that i had no business commenting on something i know very little about, perhaps it is both, or something thats even darker.. in any case, i can only pray to Maharaj and Sangat to do some kirpa on this moorakh jeo otherwise this dirtbag is going to keep spreading gandh like this.. A sincere maafi in Sangats feet once again :waheguru:

Gurfateh Veerji, Bhai Sahib havent elaborated much, just that the text is not by Bhai Mani Singh and these are not Guru Sahibs Hukams. He says he has presented the above text in Mahan Kosh just for reference purposes really. I am not a historian, but even a fool like me can see such Hukams cannot be that of Guru Sahib.. "If you are Sehajdhari Sikh, its good if you can keep your kes like Keshdharis, but if not its is ok to get them trimmed/leveled..." o_0 :rolleyes2: PS: think Bhai Bijla Singh or Bhai Kamalpreet Singh should be able to provide their views on this topic from a more academic viewpoint

Gurfateh Veerji, The text does appear under Bhai Mani Singh Ji's composition but its not written by Bhai Mani Singh Ji himself, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji certainly never gave such Hukams to 'Sehajdharis'. Bhai Kahn Singh Ji Nabha confirm this also, see this text's entry in Mahan Kosh. Read the very first line: It says Sehajdharis can read Anand, and after getting Ardas done get Brahmins to perform rest of the marriage rites as per vedic rituals without any hesitation. :s personally dont think there is any point in translating/discussing such dubious piece of text jeo..

Gurfateh Phenji, Bhai Kahn Singh Ji Nabha give the meaning as 'Vishvaas', and 'Mannana' and faith was the closest word, although 'to agree' is also acceptable? The word Patheyona is often used to represent the act of gentle persuasion, like when naughty/unruly children do not listen to their parents and they cajole the child into agreeing to their advice Perhaps that is why this word is commonly used for the mind -

Gurfateh Veerji, Without adding or taking away anything, here is an attempt at translating the lines jeo: Prof. Sahib Singh: Those human beings who have done simran of Parmatma's name by walking on the path of the Guru, (when) I ask them (the method of doing Simran), (they tell that) it is (only) with the Seva assigned by the Guru that the mind develops faith (in Prabhu-Simran). (Those people who come under the sanctuary of the Guru), they earn the wealth of Naam and thereby become wealthy. This knowledge is received only from the complete Guru. Freedkot Teeka's translation attempt: Those Gurmukhs that have meditated on Hari's name, go and ask them the method of attaining Parmeshwar, because their minds have agreed by serving Guruji. Those persons who meditate on Hari's name, they then receive the knowledge from Guruji, and are possessors of wealth of the Self. Please correct if wrong -

Sunny Veerji that was not my point In fact its good that you have pointed out the confusing elements of his 'katha' and Sangat should be made aware of stuff like this jeo.. I know you wanted to get some answers but.. sorry for hijacking your thread jeo.. :s

He is Nihang Dharam Singh of Sach Khoj Academy who has been doing some really dodgy parchaar on the internet and elsewhere. Sri Akal Takht Sahib know about him, see this: I havent seen the above videos yet, but knowing the Singhs who upload these videos for him I can tell you Sunny Veerjeo that you are wasting your time, they just wont let you 'win' any argument. Katha is one area of Gurbani Parchaar that can easily be misused by people to suit their ideology thats why we should stick to listening to Kathas by Panth-approved Parcharaks only.. Btw, this dharam singh reminds me of that Tarmala chap that was in news not so long ago, anyone else feels the same?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sangat Jeo, Just finished scanning 'Gur Shabad Alankaar' by Bhai Kahn Singh Ji Nabha. This book can be considered as a companion to 'Gur Channd Divakar' which Kamalpreet Singh Veerji have most kindly digitised for us. 'Gur Channd Divakaar' is about the intricacies of Chandabandi within Guru Sahibs works, while this book expands on various alankaars, the literary ornamentation, as used in Sikh scriptures. I wish I could provide a better synopsis of the book, but I have just started reading it myself along with Gur Channd Divakar, so apologies for that. Anyway, hope Gur Channd Divakar and this book will be of some help to khojee premis out there Once again, Parnaam to Kamalpreet Veerji for scanning Gur Channd Divakar! Download Gur Shabad Alankaar from Scribd: http://www.scribd.com/doc/53558875/Gur-Shabad-Alankaar-Bhai-Kahn-Singh-Nabha Dhanvaad for reading!
