Guru Har Gobind was born with the blessings of Baba Buddha ji. In the picture Babaji is shown holding an onion in his hand. According to Sakhis he broke the onion in his palm with his fist and blessed mataji that she will get a son who will be mahabali and would break the heads of his enemies just like he broke the onion in his palm. Babaji was given the title of Brahmgyani by Guru Arjan Dev ji. Babaji was an extremely important person in Sikh history and lived for 125 yeas. I think he was and is the only Brahmgyani ever. I love Babaji.

I had read a sakhi where while Gurujis stay at Damdama Sahib after the battles a famous pandit from Benares came to visit him. He said there is no need of kes as it has become old fashioned and there is no need of kes. He said times have changed. Guruji replied times have not changed. The sun has not chaged, the moon has not changed the stars have not changed only man has changed. He has become alsi and doesn't want to do the xtra effort required for keeping ad maintaining his kes. But his Sikhs are not alsi.

Guruji was helping Bahadur Shah on his personal request, as a long time aquaintance. Bahadur Shah was once sent by Aurangzeb to plunder the hill chiefs and teach them who is master and Bahadur Shah then Muazzam left Guruji untouched. It was because he was friends with Guruji through Bhai Nand Lal who worked for Aurangzeb at the time. About how Guruji became joti jot there are only three contemporary references regarding the fact. One is in 'Amarnama' and other written by 'Senapati'. Both were written around 1710-11 but dodn't give any clue or mention about what happened during the joti jot time of guruji. Only some vague mention towards end of gurujis time etc. The third source is an entry in Bahadur Shah's daily court diary about Guruji giving some sermon and saying something that upset a muslim who in a fit of rage stabbed Guruji in a pandal. There is also an entry about some pathan getting killed by Guuji. These two mughal entries according to many Historians is a clever cover up by the goverenment of it wrong doings i.e Bahadur Shah was responsible for the assassination of guruji. Actually there is no conclusive writing record to know what actully happenned to Guruji in his last days. A historian writing a book needs to mention a fact that is plausible in his own time, he does this for credibility otherwise he looks a fool. Writing a history book based on factual sources does not contain the 'held belief' among the followers. That is why Sikh gurus are reffered to as having been died and the death needs a cause therefore. However, this necessarily need not be true to history. Sikhs did not leave a writing record of their adventures or history and the british historians had to refer to Muslim accounts which were infact hostile towards Sikhs. All this game about guruji taking employment under Mughals or getting disturbed in mind during his end days etc. is a product of the cunning british mind. While they were building churches in India and ridiculing long held beliefs in Sikhi or Hinduism or Buddhism or Islam and re-writing our history, they cunningly did not mention, and do not mention even this day, that the holy son of God Jesus 'the Christ' was infact a '<banned word filter activated>' born out of an un-lawful liason between a <banned word filter activated> and a rich Jewish merchent. How have they explained this miracle! The rationalists didn't question about their religion but took ours apart. If the history of the Christians was written from the Jews point of view or the Muslim history from the Christian point of view, we all know what muhammed was called by his opposing contemporaries, it would have been quite interesting. Wonder if the sggs was to be written like the bible, now and after three hundered years of passing of the 'miracle'!

Doesn't it make you wonder as to why would Guru Gobind Singh fight with the Mughal empire and lose all his sons, his mother, his family, his father, his riches, his beloved Sikhs and each and everything dear only to accept some crappy post in a barren land at the end of south in the middle of jungles and wild animals when he could have made a simple adjustment and compromise with the mighty Aurangzeb and stay secure in Anandpur itself , in the very begginning of it. Any stupid person would have made that simple choice. Oh yeah, and guruji still was friends with Bahadur Shah during Aurangzeb's time and could have approached him when Aurangzeb lived. Moral of the story... " a well read person might not be as intelligent or know how to use logic and understand the sly side of life...especially of those who ruled over his fore-fathers" Period.
