A Gursikh wedding is basically the same as any other anand karj, the groom wears a chola (at all wedding i have seen) while the bride wears a kesri/blue suit. and no maroon is just another shade of red. i think all these customs are manmat..but i m not sure. the reason why it is done in the presence of guru maharaj is to get his blessing... i tried my best @ answering these ?s but i do have many questions myself...the stuff that i stated factuall, i read in the basic rehat maryada pamphlet. sorry..couldnt help much but hope this is a good start.
