1. Whatever gurbani says is truth, how can we dispute the words that came straight from the mouths of our guru's as portrayed to them by god? Ignore what anyone tells you and trust in gurbani, our gurus knew there would always be misguided people in the world and left us the truth to ensure their sikhs were protected against this misguidance and always know the truth. Everything is preordained, bad things happen to us because of karma from this and our previous lives and as lessons to be learnt. ਦੁਖੁ ਦਾਰੂ ਸੁਖੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਭਇਆ ਜਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਤਾਮਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ Ḏukẖ ḏārū sukẖ rog bẖa▫i▫ā jā sukẖ ṯām na ho▫ī. Suffering is the medicine, and pleasure the disease, because where there is pleasure, there is no desire for God. ਤੂੰ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰਣਾ ਮੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਾ ਹਉ ਕਰੀ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ Ŧūʼn karṯā karṇā mai nāhī jā ha▫o karī na ho▫ī. ॥1॥ You are the Creator Lord; I can do nothing. Even if I try, nothing happens. ॥1॥ read this if you can, sorry I had to download it so it doesn't have a link! A sakhi that may help explain Dukh and sukh Two shopkeepers had their shops next to one another. The Gurmukh (follower of the Guru's (Gur) words (mukh)) used to go to sadh sangat every day and have darshan of Guru Nanak Dev ji do seva and come home. The manmukh (follower of his mind's (man) mukh (words) ) used to go to meet a prostitute. One day the GurMukh said come with me to the sadh sangat, after some persuasion the manmukh agreed, on the way the manmukh remembered his prostitute and backed out of going to the sadh sangat. He said I'm going to go to my normal activities but I'll meet you at the tree across the road tonight. The manmukh went to see the prostitute but she wasn't there so he arrived at the tree much earlier than expected. While waiting for the Gurmukh he started poking a twig into the ground. He found a gold coin, he quickly dug more and more but he only found a pile of ashes. When the Gurmukh returned he was limping along he'd stepped on a thorn. The manmukh said I do my dirty deeds and get good luck you do good deeds but get bad luck. The Gurmukh said lets ask Guru jee to explain. Guru ji told the manmukh, in your previous life you donated one gold piece to a Sant, for doing such a virtuous deed you were to recieve the rewards in this life of many gold coins. But because of your sinful deeds you burned your reward away and were left with your original gold coin. The Gurmukh was told, in your previous life you killed someone with a wooden spear, in this life you were to be killed in the same way, but because of your seva to the Guru you bad deed has been reduced to being pricked with a thorn.

2. glad you realised it bro. you seem to be going in the right direction lately he grew up btw im just 13 years old too wat his age must have been wen he started this thread Thanks babbar_sher Bhaji. Yes gskapoor bro, I was 13 and something when I made this thread. Im 15 in 2 months... WJKK WJKF Jio :o I'm absolutely stunned! My little cousins are 13 and they aren't half, even a quarter as mature or knowledgeable as both of you, You're amazing kids and amazing sikhs! you're parents must be so proud of you, i'm proud of you and I don't even know you!
3. Hiya I wore a skirt to school everyday and then to work and wear them out aswell so I'm used to wearing skirts and find them very comfortable. I find jeans to tight and think they tend to look tartier than skirts ive worn and boys seem to like girls in jeans for some strange reason (hence the song 'in those jeans' by ginuwine and others dedicated to girls in jeans by Bobby Valentino etc') The typs of skirts I've worn are called pencil skirts which are impossible to fly up with the wind and look really smart. My skirts have always been decent and if they were too short to wear n their own I would alway team them with a pair of leggings, I think they look very corporate and feminine for work ie. skirt suit, and are great for parties as long as they dont look trashy and too short, or not worn with tights or leggings when appropriate. Just for the record I hate clubbing and parties and if I go it's usually because its someones birthday or my parents force me to go (yes they force me to go clubbing no joke I fight and fight- although I try my best not to because its against sikhi to find with your parents- but sometimes they win). It may sound funny but I actually feel more exposed wearing trousers and tops unless they are dress tops or extra long tops, maybe its just a psychological thing but skirts are what I feel most comfortable in.
4. He said he has furious thoughts so I figured he's angry with someone. Not being able to sleep because of these furious thoughts means he can't shake this anger and it naturally leads to want of revenge or justice against whatever's keeping him awake and angry. It is the way and sequence in which the mind works, it recognises a problem and tries to find a solution- and that's the most obv solution- though not the most wise.
5. Look please as a sister I am asking you not to do anything rash. If you're mind is everywhere you're obv not able to think clearly at the moment. Do paath, ardas and ask Guru Nanak to guide you. If you listen to your heart(or gut) and not your mind you'll know what to do. If it's murder, don't do it. If its beating someone up, don't do it. Look even if it's arguing with someone don't do it. Whatever you do now will come back on you- god doesn't like us getting involved in arguments. Whatevers happens, whoever's hurt you, let it go. When Guru Gobind Songh Ji's children were killed, Guru Ji didn't seek revenge, not once. If he could stay calm, so can you. Guru Granth sahib Ji tells us its wrong to get into arguments- so if its this or anything worse than this just walk away- dont do something thats gna effect the reason you were born, to gain liberation (find god) and know that everytime you're angry with someone they get your blessings, not the other way around- all the good things that were going to happen to you will happen for them instead, this is the price you pay for your anger. mandaa kisai na aakh jhagrhaa paavnaa. Do not speak ill of others, or get involved in arguments. nah paa-ay jhagrhaa su-aam saytee aap aap vanjaavanaa. Do not get into arguments with the Lord, or you shall ruin yourself. - remember we're all part of god, in reality there is no or you or I, we're all a part of him- let go of your ego, realise this and instead meditate on him, ask him for help and peace and he'll give it to you, instead of cursing and being angry at another person, pray for them- pray their ego is reradicated aswell. Read this thread, the whole of it and everything Nehmet Ji has to say, he makes the most sense- it'll help you alot, this persons increadibly wise http://www.sikhsanga...es/page__st__12 mandaa kisai na aakh jhagrhaa paavnaa. Do not speak ill of others, or get involved in arguments. nah paa-ay jhagrhaa su-aam saytee aap aap vanjaavanaa. Do not get into arguments with the Lord, or you shall ruin yourself.
6. This is all so amazing, butat the same time really sad knowing theres so much pain, war and death in the years to come.... and most people are so complacement right now.....
7. Is it revenge or justice you want? Is that whats keeping you awake at night?
8. No to worry jee. We get misquoted, mis-interpretted all the time. Its ok, let it go. As long as you are clear in your thoughts, intentions, there is nothing to worry. Apne aap nu gussa nahi aouN deNa. Listen to some shabad you like. Here is one I could suggest. BTW the below shabad has nothing to do with current topic. Just picked one shabad on random. http://www.youtube.c...rom=PL&index=31 Thankyou bhenji.
9. I asked if it was an 'opninion' or 'kaam'......you answered now, not then. So now your telling me that you would look for 'kaam' in a husband?? Everything just adds on.....no point kidding yourself. This is the truth you say? so none of your other posts are true? If you can back up all your opinions, then who are you afraid of? Now thats a lie, you still trying to back your origanal comment with more lies. This is what you think. Interesting. Now you don't balme me........anyway, if there was anything I said which offended you or anyone, then by all means I am sorry. But I still stand by my words against the 'panj doot'. happy posting... Okay now I'm really offended, , lol You're twisting my words again. By saying he isn't what id look for in a husband I was letting you know I didn't fancy him and there is no lust involved- I really thought my comment was self explanatory but apparently it wasn't! I honestly thought you got what I was trying to say, im so sorry I didnt reply with- 'No it was not kaam, it was an opinion.' Next time I will make it much clearer- but yes I am telling the absolute truth and do not appreciate being branded a liar. I'm a sikh, I tell the truth. :| At the same time I'm sorry if you misunderstood what I was trying to say. The problem with a forum is that unless you state something more than clearly people dont tend to always get your point. Secondly- with the aishwarya Rai comment I was trying to get you to see my situation from a guys point of view- and was simply stating that if you jumped to conclusions about what I said I bet you would about a situation like that aswell- it's not such outrageous assumption to make seeing the conclusion you made about me, but I am sorry for making this assumption, I dont want to get in an argument. Thirdly, most of the world is inclined to think in a less than civilised way, as a sikh I do my best to fight against the panj dhoots with everything I have- I was just suprised and frankly hurt that you would think so lowly of me. You need to stop and think objectively before you jump to such hateful and damaging conclusions so quickly, you are too headstrong, if you love sikhi and your sikh brothers and sisters you should not be so quick to slander, you should be quicker to love. Maybe next time you'll think twice before wrongfully accusing a sikh sister of lust, feel abit more shame and have a bit more respect.
10. That's enough to settle my dispute. I'll give you a reason if you want one though.... You've got to be joking. You asked me if it was kaam and I told you no, I told you hes not what id look for in a husband, therefore I dont fancy him and it is not kaam!! Please if you want to defame someones character please find someone else to pick on. My best friends are handsome, doesn't mean i fancy or want to marry them, I would never even let myself fancy someone who is unavailable or that I wasn't looking to marry- its called self control, wayward minds lead to unhonourable conclusions. It's hurtful and sickening how the second someone makes a truthful comment ones words are nitpicked and completely misconstrued. I also think aishwarya rai is an amazing actress and think she is incredibly attractive, but if a guy said that I bet you'd jump on it and twist it. I don't blame you though, its how the world thinks. oh and before you jump on it by charming I mean increadibly gentlemanly and polite, my mum thinks that aswell but if you want to diss her feel free, shes happily married.
11. look hes handsome and charming theres no doubt, but not 100% what i'd look for in a husband as he aint sikh but he was also in a film that I think most of sangat would have seen seeing as it was about punjab and sikhs, hence the 'we all know why' comment, if id meant it in a pervy way I would have added a wink instead. I thought it would get misconstrued which is why took it off. I also think hes the best actor, he beats shah rukh kahn and hrithick roshan by a mile, hes really talented but the thread topic didnt say to give reasons why. I'll never understand why people are so soon to jump to the worst possible conclusions about people- I almost feel a defamation of character here. :6 and where are the moderators, we need this godforsaken evil thread removed. :|
12. Look, people discuss thinks like football, college etc on here, I've just watched a hindi film and enjoyed sharing my opinion!
13. Hmm, if the article said that yoga helps clear the mind, I wouldnt have written anything. The White Tantric Yoga® Video Course is a powerful meditation practice that clears the subconscious mind, allowing prosperity, success, and happiness to flow freely into your life. It is an ancient and unique yogic science that accelerates your psychological growth by dissolving deep-rooted subconscious blocks through the direction of a facilitator and the energy of Yogi Bhajan, the Mahan Tantric. If the article said the yoga helped to clear the mind and there was no mention of flowing happiness, prosperity and sucess etc I would see it as credible. I love practicing yoga as excercise, but the happiness and success comes from Guru Nanak.
14. I hope that pic wasn't directed at anyone or I might have to delete the captions I wrote! :|
15. Nooo, Jag singh that wasn't directed at you at all, you make some really good valid points! I was replying to Singhstas picture- he said lets see if anyone gets the picture, the picture's from a scene in a film and I just wrote what Jack Nicholson (the guy in the picture) says in it!! It's not directed at anyone I promise! sorry for the misunderstanding!
16. LOL  Nicholson: "You want answers?!!" Cruise: "I want the truth!!" Nicholson:"You can't HANDLE the truth..!!"
17. OMG not Aarti and Ganga!!! how discraceful to your Sect of Sikhi!!!!! Let me explain my view on this:- Aarti = Poetic verses explaining the importance and values of naam simran, whether this is sikh, hindi, jewish or christian you should listen and understand what is being said before slagging it off Ganga = A sacred place where Guru Nanak devji visited aswell as many other Mahapursh over millions of years. Just to do darshan of this sacred place is a privilage let alone any form of prayer to God. Yoga - Let me explain to you of my understanding before I get slated by all the so called Sikhs out there that jump on anything other than their narrow minded version of Sikhism. Sri Guru Granth Sahibji tells us to do naam simran which is not an easy task as our mind is attacked left right and center by the 5 evils, now for us to start naam simran we should try anything we can to get our mind to focus, as we are all individuals different things will help focus our mind. Yoga helps some, walking helps others, washing dishes others, sitting in a dark quiet room others. My point is Whether you sit at home or wash dishes at Harimandar Sahib or yoga at the river Ganges and do naam simran or Aarti or Japji Sahibji. You are better than the next person that wastes their time on Sikh Sangat slagging everyone else off for trying to better the life. wat a reply m8 wow. Yoga is a form of excercise, I never said it doesn't help with naam simran because it helps a hell of alot with mine. However statements such as the one I posted, that removing blockages etc will bring happiness and prosperity into your life are not sikh- Only god has that ability- we're 100% helpless wthout him, this is kaljug, the darkest age and yoga isn't going to get rid of peoples misfortune, only something amazingly pure and strong can overcome misery and misfortune- and that's god.

19. Hi all Just wondering if anyone on here uses Sikhnet chat? Everytime I log in no-ones there!! loll I use to use sikh sangats chat room about a year ago, not sure what happened to it!
20. That's so weird, I went to sleep at 2am and woke up half an hr ago at 3:30am. I can't go back to sleep so I was thinking of staying awake for the rest of the day aswell. I have an early start though and have so much to do and I don't know how I'm going to be able to achieve anything today....I'm really scared because I can't afford to sleep during the day :umm: I hate waking up randomly in the night! Hmm im going to lie back down!
21. I always support whatever teams winning so i'm not a laughing stock when my team loses and I don't have get into any arguments! lol
22. Yeh a lot of Hindus genuinely believe it. Someone once told me they feel superior to sikhs and muslims as muslims worship the shiv ling and guru nanak was born into a hindu family. I told him he's an ignorant i diot.
