  1. WJKK WJKF Thankuji Balait da sher, and Gurdssingh, ur posts have given me confidence to go to gurdwara more.. i dont wish to have these disabilities, because of my karms I am like this, I dont wish to sit in chairs in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahibji, but when I cannot sit on the floor the need will arise. " I always say to god, why cant i be like "normal" people and be able to sit for longer, be able to do this and that, cry to god, but its all my karms. And everybody is not "normal". I noticed in the pictures that Mandela has put up, that there are people standing behind Guruji too and at the side, that doesnt mean they have less respect than those that are sitting down, they are not sitting either, in fact standing behind them. So i cannot judge how decide how Guruji wants me to be. I am like this and try my best, but god has made me like this, sorry but i cant change myself.
  2. Wjkk Wjkf Mandela ji you have more gian than me, if you feel that strongly about sikhi values please answer me this. Kere guru ji ne parampara chalaiyi c ke apaaj lokhaa di madat karni? (which guruji started the method of helping the disabled?)
  3. WJKK WJKF "My kind" ??? And wat is that supposed to mean, I'm no different from you, just coz i have a disability. ANd wat kind are u exactly? Wat if u had the disability then how would u feel if u were not able to go to gurdwara without everybody looking at you. We get enough discrimination from some members of sangat, NOT saying all, few who are ignorant of the rest of the world. Gurdwara is not only for healthy people, anybody can go to the gurdwara. How do you they are able bodied? and wat is the definition for able bodied? It is not beadbi to me, you have ur opnions, I have my own. So I will stick to my own. Dont be ridiculus its not an attack on sikhi values,,, Its people like "ur kind" that deters disabled people and people with health conditions from going to the gurdwara. I agree if one does not need to sit on a chair then they shouldnt, so wat are the ones that want to go to gurdwara and be able to stay there longer, wat are we supposed to do? Especially if they are young, even the elderly, are we suppose to rot away at home, coz our lives are already full of dukh? Are we suppose to listen to be quiet and not say anything which will help us in order for us to have wat u have and reap when u go to the gurdwara? And listen to "ohhhhhh eh tha bechari de karm ha, gurdwara nai jaa sakdi" Wat a load of nonsense....I feel that before now gurdwaras have been denying that right for disabled people to go to the gurdwara.... Why should one go when there is no facility for them? Answer that? You're not the one that has to live with the disability so its easy for u to say wat u are saying, but there are thousands out there, for whom the chairs are a godsend and i fully support them for those that need them. Thats the only reason i go now, as I feel secure that if I am wobbly or my co-0ordination is not rite on one day, i know i can sit on a chair, even downstairs in the langar hall, without being harassed. The beadbi im feeling is ur attack on disabled people. The gurdwaras should have a structure where they can implement how they are to be used. I could argue to if i wanted to, about gyms being built in gurdwara premises, for those that are healthy, so nothing for the needy??? And wat about the gareeb, and the needy?? Wats provided for them?
  4. WJKK WJKF Nowadays, girls from india have the same thinking as girls from uk/abroad. It all depends on whether u click together and no harm in talking to girls from both countries. If u dont talk to them, how will you know you are compatible for each other. Dont think uk girls are all same, or india girls are all same, its all down to personal experiences. Happy for Bachitar Singh and that he has found a compatible partner., But no offence to anybody, please be wary that a girl doesnt use you for a visa..and then leave you, not saying that all do, but there have been cases and nowadays alot of girls want to go abroad for a better future, which is good, but as long as she doesnt leave you, you should be fine. If then it could happen with a uk girl too, but then thats up to god, you need to be introduced to some and you will know yourself what they want, and if they are the one for u. Good luck with it....
  5. WJKK WJKF Try asking somebody with a disability like myself what its like sitting on the floor. With waheguruji's kirpa I am able to sit for a bit, but why should I have to leave the gurdwara just because I cant sit on the floor for more than 5mins? I dont think people with disabilities take advantage of the chairs, the gurdwara I go to there is one or two at the back, so its not a distraction either. I dont like chairs at the front either as it doesnt look nice, but if somebody is unable to sit for long and wants to listen to path then they should not be forced to leave. That is totally unfair and discrimination. Its hurts me to hear some of the posts on here. Obviously these people dont know as they dont have disabilities. If somebody looks normal from outside it doesnt mean they are healthy and can do acrobatics, or are flexible in any way. I try to sit against the wall on the side when I cant sit with crossed legs. I dont like doing this, and I dont like sitting on chairs, I try to sit as long as I can but that does me more damage. So why should I sit at home on my own depressed, nowhere to go and cry, whilst those of you who dont agree with chairs or benches, have the privilege of enjoying your lives, being able to go where u want when u want, and then belittle the disabled, and think we are nothing and shove us wherever u want and do watever u want. Why?? coz you dont have a disability? There are young generationm aswell as elder generation with disabilites and health conditions, which a lot of people do not realise, for whom going to the gurdwara would be the only place they would go and their hearts fill with joy of being able to go to wahegurujis house without being shoved around. How can the disabled and elderly be in sangat, when they are not given the chance. Everybody is going to go old one day, and when one is unable to function properly WHY SHOULD THEY BE STOPPED FROM GOING DUE TO LACK OF FACILITIES. Thankuji for listening.
  6. WJKK WJKF Hope this helps bhenji: http://career-advice.monster.co.uk/job-interview/careers.aspx

  10. WJKK WJKF As those that have been healed by Waheguruji have stated they went to a camp, is it necessary to go to a camp, or can one do path or simran at home if they have an illness? Also if anybody could please advice does bani have to be said out aloud, as i find it hard to do that, can one do path/simran in ones mind? thank u ji for listening
  11. hahahaha i just read my post, and i wrote can someboy put the show on youtube or here,,, wat i meant to write was can somebody plz put the show on there. sorry boys..for the spelling mistake.
  12. WJKK WJKF Oh noooooo i wanted to watch this weeks Sikh Youth show, was soo looking forward to it, probably hasnt even recorded. Can someboy put it on youtube plz or here so we can all watch it.
  13. doesnt matter wat he is getting arrested for stupid police in india shouldnt even touch his pagg let alone remove it.
  14. WJKK WJKF Im not siding the program or the family, but i recorded it and watched it, and to me it seems like the boys side were not expecting it, from their reactions, as the b4 it was given to the grandmother she didnt have chuni on her head but when she kissed it she had her chunni on her head, thus maybe the others not having chunnis on their head, etc. to be honest i didnt even see the rest of the things u mentioned, as not watched it all properly. But the producers should have done that properly and the family should have made them aware of what they were taken to be told to the other family, although it was nice to see the father make a comment that about Sukhmani Sahib ji da gutka. I feel Sukhmani SAhibji da gutka is the best thing one can give the boys side as its not materialistic like the washing machine, presents etc. It will keep the youngsters close to Guruji, unlike the washing machine.
  15. WJKK WJKF THis is so weird I have been listening to these for cple of weeks now, since i felt like listening to raag shabads, yes they are brilliant, and sing from deep within. The first one i listenend to was Baras Ghana Mera Pir Ghar Aya. Guru NAnak Dev ji started bani in ragas, with Bhai Mardana used to sing like that. The Sikh Gurus used the Ragas in their bani, enshrined in the Shri Guru Granth Sahib. These came direct from god.
  16. WJKK WJKF Note to admin, there is problem with logging in username, forbidden access page appears. But I just logged in using "sign in with other other services"~which has seemed to work.
  17. WJKK WJKF Congratulations to the lovely couple, and to Alexandra in becoming Harvinder Kaur now, amazing... But one thing Im confused about is from the following extract she says: ‘Many holy people, saints, came to our wedding, which is rare. They came out of their caves. Normally saints don’t leave their place of meditation.’ No offence to the couple or anything else, just for my own understanding, I dont understand, does she mean sant/mahapurkhs? And what caves would they been in, where and who would they be? Sorry if this is silly question but I've never a sant before and not sure what she means. Thanku ji..
  18. WJKK WJKF I've noticed its more the married males/females call each other bhenji/veerji. I dont really hear single males/females call those that are also single. Or a male will call a married woman bhabhiji, and viceversa.
  19. WJKK WJKF ~Ive looked on the sikh channel website in their tv catchup section, but afraid they havent put it up yet. But soon as its up I will put it on here.
  20. WJKK WJKF Yesterday i recorded a live phone show on sikh channel and watched it today. Would just like to say that there were two bhenjis on one side and 2 paajis on the other and the presenter in the middle. Sorry but do not know any of their names, but just want to say i loved the way the bhenji in the blue suit n chuni spoke, so lovely and refreshing, and loved the way she explained everything about nails and hair.
  21. I know somebody that didnt used to sit in a chair either, as they were so bad that could not sit, so they used to lie down instead at th back of the gurdwara darbar. As long as they were listening to the bani, i feel personally this was ok.
  22. this is very hard to answer bhenji, i know somone that has been there themselves, and asked for this to happen, begging their loved ones to end it all. but wat i say is i know its very very hard, ask the child to say waheguru, even if its in their mind. just keep repeating waheguru. sorry but that is all the advice i can give, but to take somebodys life is rong, and also to see sombody hurting so much is unbearable. may waheguruji help them.

    Where To Sit?

Bhenji if it was me that saw u, I wouldnt think ur trying to be better, but would be proud of u that you are sitting on the floor. good that u feel better about it now. There maybe other reasons y they dont approach u, they may not know wat to say, and I wouldnt take it as a bad thing, for all u know others maybe admiring the fact of ur love for god. Its very hard to tell what one in thinking. When ur children are followed by other children that is wonderful as the children are learning from ur children, and th parents may just not follow as they dont want to disturb th company of th children sitting together. I'd be proud of ur children, and its all due to u in teaching them lovely ways.

    Where To Sit?

If u feel comfortable bhenji carry on the floor, I feel seating should be for those who have disabilities or elderly who have problems sitting on floor. Others may think twice and think why is this family sitting on the floor, and may come and ask you, then that is ur moment to explain to them why, then they may realise that they want to sit on th floor too. ITs great u and ur family are sitting on th floor for langar. I dont think u are singling urself out, I feel that is the way everybody used to sit from beginning, even in gurdwaras today people sit on the floor. Dont worry waheguruji would be proud of you that u are singled out like that, as u are having langar which to others may be in a harder way.
  25. hehehe wat are u like........soo funny,, looks like paaji's toasted sandwich topic has become a hot topic....lolz....its gud that u are learning to cook, well done and gud for u. Just say to ur mom, "bebeji main rotian banaya karugaa". Cool keep it up...and learn to make dal sabji too, coz the time ur spending on cooking th recipes for the sandwich it will take the same time to make sabji,,,,then watch how proud ur wife will be.
