  1. Divide your mind in two- one for relative realities where all negative attacks happen, second is the source of mind(call it your real self) where non dual jot saroop reside (Gurbani says Man tu jot saroop hai, apna mool painchain). Whenever negative attacks or evil energy attack happens, try to witness the attacks- don't be afraid just simply witness it without any judgement from your real self - 2nd portion of mind- source of mind just simply pure witness your first portion of mind with pure awareness-consciousness pure witness without any judgement, as you will keep practising this, you will notice negative thoughts manifested in form of energies etc will go away in their own accord like clouds disappearing- our thoughts appear disappear on their accord you don't have to touch it its not your headache as you are sky period nothing matters to you you are sky-analogy. Don't try to resolve try to fix your thoughts , more you try to rebel against thoughts more harder it will become. Thoughts feeds off from our resistance/energy to stop thoughts - (mind cannot fix mind- only by going beyond mind- witness awareness-jot saroop - one can quite mind-negative energy of mind), give no power to your thoughts , give no resistance to it..it does not matter as you are not thought- cloud you are the sky..it does not matter at all. Give it try, give your heart mind to it trust me it will help.
  2. In my views he is true hero- khalsa in its own right (from saving lives aspect). He got a call off duty to save innocent lives, he did it selflessly without any pre-condition bias or notion. Pure perception and judgement regardless whoever it is. He didn't saw religious garb, labels, outlook, he show innocent human life in danger, defended them from oppressor period end of story. Thats why pure perception trumps all- keeps it real and truthful, rest is all egoic conditioned mind (based on fear, insecurity, five vices) baggage which clouds our pure perception and judgement. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-medal-of-valor-sikh-temple-boston-20150211-story.html Police officers and firefighters who helped save lives in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings and the shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin were honored with the Medal of Valor in a White House ceremony Wednesday. Vice President Joe Biden draped the purple- and yellow-striped ribbons around the necks of 20 public safety officers, and presented medals to the families of two officers killed while responding to armed robberies. The two were off-duty at the time. 3,000 honor 6 slain at temple "You're a rare breed," Biden said. "You're all crazy. We love you for it. We need you. You are the best thing we have going for us." Two people were dead on the ground outside the Sikh Temple in August 2012 when Lt. Brian Murphy and Officer Savan Lenda of the Oak Creek Police Department arrived on the scene. The suspected gunman was fleeing. Murphy pulled his gun, but the suspect fired first, hitting Murphy in his throat, legs and hand. When Lenda arrived on the scene and shot the suspect, the shooter crawled out of view and killed himself. lRelated BREAKING NEWS Families marking anniversary of Sikh temple shootings SEE ALL RELATED 8 Lenda sent fellow officers to help Murphy, but the lieutenant waved them away and insisted they help those still inside the temple. The White House said the two officers' actions helped save the lives of many. Boston and the surrounding area were in a state of panic in April 2013 because the suspects in the marathon bombings remained at large. The fateful night when Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev allegedly carjacked a vehicle before a dramatic confrontation with police is well-known. Less well-known were the contributions of seven officers and firefighters from Watertown, Mass., who received the medal from Biden. cComments Hey Tribune. That's Lt. Brian Murphy getting the Medal in the picture...not Sevan Lenda. RESPONDCODE3 AT 7:59 PM FEBRUARY 11, 2015 Despite heavy gunfire and reports the brothers were throwing explosives, officers and firefighters who responded helped protect the lives of those in uniform, the White House said. Tamerlan Tsarnaev died as a result of the incident; Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was apprehended 20 hours later. Attorney General Eric Holder said this year's medals were particularly poignant, given that the country is struggling with "deep challenges" in the relationship between law enforcement agencies and their communities. "Beyond these honors, America owes you a debt that must be repaid not just with words but with actions," Holder said. The Medal of Valor is the nation's highest honor for public safety officers who risk their own safety to save or protect others. This year's ceremony honored individuals who committed acts of valor between 2011 and 2013. A total of 95 medals have been handed out since Congress created the award in 2001. Also receiving the medal: • Five special agents from the FBI's Alabama-based hostage rescue team, who rescued a 5-year-old abducted from a school bus in 2013. • Sgt. Daniel Hutchinson, Weber County, Utah, who was shot three times but still rescued two fellow sheriff's deputies in a shooting. • Officer Michael Keith, Knoxville, Ten.n, who used his shirt to beat back flames from a car, then pulled a state trooper to safety just before the vehicle exploded. • Former fire Chief John Curly, Bellmore, N.Y., who broke a burning building's window with his bare hands to rescue an unconscious woman inside. • Special Agent John Francis Capano, New York, who was killed while confronting a suspect during an attempted robbery attempt. • Sgt. Bradley Alan Wick, Duluth, Minn., Police Department, who shot and killed a convicted felon after an armed robbery and car chase. • Clifton P. Lewis, Chicago, who was off-duty when he was shot four times and killed while confronting two masked gunmen at a grocery store. • Sgt. Michael Darrell Brown, Brevard County, Fla., who helped save a woman whose estranged boyfriend was attempting to stab her to death. • Deputy Jenna Underwood-Nunez, Los Angeles, who was five months pregnant and off-duty when she rescued a teenager from drowning at the bottom of a muddy lake. 3. Islam has equivalent to naam simran, they call it ZIKR/DHIKR. Agree with your post but i like to point out current punjabi culture is not what it used to be. We had enrich punjabi culture in past which was more prevalent in mainstream where there was lot more emphasis on vidya, bhramvidya, poetry, calligraphy, art, martial wrestling, punjabi medicine, pride in language, clean folk songs, punjabi heritage, literature Thanks to these websites for reviving traditional punjabi literature and culture: http://www.panjabdigilib.org/webuser/searches/mainpage.jsp https://www.facebook.com/groups/discoverpunjabheritage/
  4. Ranjeet veer, I agree not a whole lot, may be 20% of muslims...sunni fanatics in islam have totally lost the plot.. However, generally speaking other religious people from other religions have similar problem of not getting the final message, have issue seeing things in stages and are stuck in initial stages, taken relative realities as their reality. For example, Sikhi has spiritual stages mentioned as well in Japji sahib, anand karaj among other places but many people are not aware of it how they are state of mind, state of spiritual development progress. Many are cultural religious sikhs affected by punjabiyaat than religious-spiritual sikhs deep rooted in gurmat
  5. Thanks for sharing those videos but i think for me atleast, gurbani riterating islamic spiritual stages of development/pre-existing spiritual development framework in sufi Islam as updesh to misguided muslims around that time is good enough. Ang- 1083 saraa sareeath lae ka(n)maavahu || Let your practice be to live the spiritual life thareekath tharak khoj ttolaavahu || Let your spiritual cleansing be to renounce the world and seek God. maarafath man maarahu abadhaalaa milahu hakeekath jith fir n maraa ||3|| Let control of the mind be your spiritual wisdom, O holy man; meeting with God, you shall never die again. ||3
  6. My experience is been otherwise through few tibetan freinds i know. Anyway, i wasn't suggesting we should follow their model. We have our own traditional gurmat model.
  7. Lets look at why people get hooked on drugs? whats the real reason? Drugs temporary camouflage mind-tension, stress, anxiety, fear, loosen thoughts into liquid flowing not sticky and affect gives druggy individuals temporary high trance which is quite addictive like state where thoughts/mind tension does not bother them as they are rooted in temporary high trance like state. I have done drugs in my youths before coming into sikhi. Nasha of drugs is not even close to .01% meditation trance states -bismaad in Sikhi. Introduce first self awareness, meditation programs into punjab first to show druggy individuals that there is something far more superior nasha than temporary nasha like drug...far more superior which is naam simran, meditation with shabad. In this way, one should be able to root out drug problems. While i appreciate sant ranjit singh dhandrianwale basic initial parchar in punjab but we need to realize basic parchar without incorporation with people living in experience gurbani higher states of meditation, consciousness becomes very dry, it wears off in people. Thats is where radhaswamis beas take advantage of the situation- they give people spiritual experience even if its initial hyper ventilation, intial chakra experience- people gets off on drugs. They use that as parchar to push their agenda. We need to see overall picture and introduce proper various meditation techniques incorporated with gurbani than just dry parchar in punjab. Look around in other spiritual cultures for example in tibet. Tibet has virtual no drugs problems in the area as they-their culture are very deep rooted in dharma teaching and dharma meditation from early age. But now china is infusing drugs/drug cartel/drug money into tibet to destroy their spiritual culture.
  8. Universal Shared-A Dimensionless Map for SELF-REALIZATION. It's quite profound, surely put things in perspective
  9. Agree But from Gurmat Nirgun Gyan Absolute perspective, there is no locked door to begin with as there is no door at all let alone locked. Relative realities appear and disappear spontaneously and effortless while ABSOLUTE stays forever.
  10. jae ham ko paramaesar ouchar hai | thae sabh narak kundd mehi par hai | Translation:- “Those who call me God, will fall into the pit of hell. This vaak of maharaj should be seen as scolding of our father, cannot be taken literally. However overall message behind this vaak of this maharaj should be taken seriously. What Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji is saying- don't be attached to my transient (shud bhram sargun) saroop-personal god saroop, don't confine me in transient shud sargun saroop. Realize- your and my real saroop which is Nirgun saroop via bhagti, shabad dhun, shabad gian- bhramgyan.
  11. I agree fully concur with message of sri dasam guru granth from absolute reality perspective/view. Missionaries are highly allergic towards anything sargun in the panth, no different than teja singh bhausaria/kala afghana mindset. They should be given these context- absolute and relative reality-pointers so everything make sense to them- most other faiths have these contexts to explain scriptural stance and they should also be given analogy and difference between praise and worship something they can relate to. For example- If missionaries -kids gets A+ in math, they would praise them as any parent, they don't go around worshipping them.
  12. Totally agreed. Sikhi upholds Absolute truth all the time but while upholding Absolute truth it also praises relative realities as well- for example- vahiguru ji avtar of narsingh we read every day in asa di vaaar- rehras sahib- Vahiguru saved bhagat parlhad ji in Narsingh form: Har Jug Jug Bhagat Upaaiya, Paij Rakhda Aaaiya Ram Rajai Harnakash Dusth Har Maaraya Parhlad Taariaya Ahankarye Nindakha Pitta Daie, Namdev Mukh Laaiya Jan Nanak Aisae Har Seevaaiya, Ant Leh chadaya || Sikhi is not nirgun vaad only. It's Nirgun and Sargun combined. Gurmat is bhagti-relative-sargun / gyan-nirgun- absolute- somacha vaad (combined/blended)
  13. In Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, there are gurbani quotes where- Krishan maharaj is praised as avtar of akaal purkh is praised as bhagvan very Clearly. However, In Dasam Guru Granth- Krishan is called a worm..smalll worm nothing as failed conquered by KAAL. How do you reconcile the two? The only plausible explanation I have gotten from scholars- Nirmala/Taksali which make sense that- We need to look at it from relative-bhagti reality in duality and from Non Dual- absolute-nirgun truth-bhramgyan Reality. From Relative truth or reality perspective- Krishan (pointer) is avtar of akaal purkh is praised as bhagvan just like Narsingh (we read in rehras sahib ASA di vaaar) However, from absolute truth- Krishan (pointer) is nothing jot in krishan and jot in the worm is one and same...This krishan (pointer) is nothing but some joe blow punk- significance of this pointer is totally been destroyed to uphold Absolute Truth where there are no distinctions- It's only - ONE NON DUAL TRUTH- IKONGKAR- ONE IN ALL, ALL IN ONE and also to raise the surti of seekers from form (Sargun) to Formless(Nirgun).
  14. I beleive famous Albert Einstein sum its up very well - 'You can will what you want, But you can't will what you will' -backdrop is predetermined. From Sikhi point of view, there is no such thing as free will either. Its in gurbani many places..particular one i remember are from sukhmani sahib

  16. Correct me if i m wrong...If we look at his authority position from western point of view- he is delhi mayor (CM), mayor has power over police funding, accountablity of public sectors etc. But does he have power of assign attorney general prosecutor to prosecute 1984 culprits? How does law work in India?
  17. Guru sahib declared his three saroops to his Sikh very clearly via bhai nand lal-
  18. Great news, lets see if arvinder kerjival can deliver promises - accomplish this as he promised below..i m sure he will face lot of challenges from fanatic neo nazi rss. I am very happy with aap sikh section of candidates
  19. I kinda got it but will fully get it- upon kirpa of Guru maharaj on ripeness
  20. World is false-maya as separate relative reality perception but same world/ universe is true as Ik Hari roop as bhram pure-bhramgyan perception.
  21. Dasam dwar (higher portal to reality) is also comes in maya as it comes under sukhsham maya-subtle form, anything that is seen or whats being witnessed or even experienced is part of subtle maya- rajo-tamo-sato even shud satogun. From absolute reality, its transient and relative reality. Only IKONGKAR- Absolute Truth endures and remains and in that Absolute there are no relative realities its all ONE non dual advait-Absoulte so whatever is seen or experienced is not separate reality its not seperate as relative reality but as one Absolute-ikongkar! 22. I think you can weed out patits from gurdwara automatically by interviewing non patit looking sikhs. Panj pyare should be interviewing, interrogating them thoroughly (if they are following guru's teaching) because in this day and age- of kalyug - non patit external looking sikhs are just as likely to get curropt like patits because we have all kinds of people hide behind sikh bana, external saroop to hide their own shortcoming-five vices.

  24. Here are profound questions / riddles / self enquiry asked by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji to his Sikhs: These questions below are meant to be explored, inquired, contemplated in Meditation..they may look very simple to our egoic mindset but it cannot be conceptually answered by conceptual mind but deeply inquired within during meditation- answer you will quickly get verbally like in form of thought or scholarly knowledge by conceptual mind/thoughts needs to be abandoned as mind will try to trick you by providing its own pre conditioned/ pre conceived notion/ conditioned response (it may be right answer but this isn't point..this is not mind exercise, point is answer needs to be felt by intuition out of our egoic conditioned mindset ). Any answer you will receive in meditation via spiritual divine insight is right way to start and from there you will notice growth in your bibek- clear understanding, pure perception which helps significantly in spiritual growth, deep spiritual inquiry and transcendence.
