I used to share your views. But then I saw first hand what these guys do and met them personally to address these issues. And i can say these guys are doing frickin brilliant seva. I used to think they just a bunch of kids out to cause trouble. But these guys are what organisations like BOSS have failed to be and I hope they continue to flourish around educational institutions in particular around the UK and beyond. Oh and BSSF, you need to create much more professional looking posters man. Looks like u get someone from India to do them! Sort out your branding. Just a suggestion.

Sikh Federation needs to do more to get the word out that these conferences are more than just about raising money especially amongst the elder community. People wanna see variation as well. Not just the same old people, same old speeches, same old imagery, same old set up as every single other year. I think all your focus seems to be on targetting the youth which is fine. But I tell you, biggest influence - directly or indirectly - for a lot of youth, are their parents. Just a suggestion. Oh and get off Sikh Channel as well coz its getting way too boring. A lot of youth around here - me included - call it feddies channel. You might think thats good, but trust me... it isnt.

Hmmm I personally have a lot of respect for Swami Parmanand Ji who is in the video - not in a "let me bow to u and kiss ure feet" kinda way, but he has done katha at various asthaans and is revered by people like Gianni Thakur Singh and Harkowale Sant. But it p*sses me off seeing that Singh full on matha tekking to that **** and getting involved in such blatent manmatt activities. Time for me to go buy some new juthiyaa anyway...

Yeah the question is : is any of the staff at Sikh Channel actually Sikh?! In addition, DS Bal also allows his staff and interns to have booze sessions and stuff at the same Sikh Channel studio where they do paath every day, and baniyaa are brought in to recite Sukhmani Sahib paath etc. Not only that, but he has said to Singhs in the past that it's ok to "do stuff" with the interns, but not with any of the guests! Anyway, yeah, people are all finally waking up as to what Sikh Channel is about and anyone who hasn't woke up will get a very rude awakening when Sikh Channel shuts down and runs off with your monies.

I did hear something a couple of weeks ago that he was here for a VERY brief visit.

I was having a discussion with someone and a thought came to my head. Is it good to be in a place where there are many like-minded Sikhs or not? I know the obvious answer is yes, but I then thought hold on... there was a time where Guru Nanak Dev Jee encouraged people who have lots of good to offer others to go far and wide and spread their teachings and love to inspire others. I feel a lot of Sikhs try n stick to their own. Jathas stick to their own. local sangat stick to their own. But shouldnt we go to places where there arent many Sikhs and do parchaar and live life out there to encourage and inspire others to lead the path of goodness that Guru Nanak Dev Jee laid out for humanity?

Audio corresponds with the video. Nothing in the video sounds doctored. Simple things like a tap on the table or sliding of papers etc is spot on. The timing of when he speaks and stops is flawless. The clarity of the sound when he moves his head away from camera is also spot on. Cant spot anything thats flawed to be honest. I think people on here find it SO hard to believe that this has been said and that by a "raagi" as well, that we need more proof. But i think the video proof is there. It can probably be proven more by getting the original video from the persons phone. I think Edmonton sangat need to get onto this immediately and arrange a meeting with this person and video it as well with a DV cam. Lets see what he has to say for himself.

They were also approached after the divaan but no response hence why the post on this forum - seems Sikh Channel only respond when they are publicly shamed. Press Stop Can I just get this straight for a second, Southampton Gurdwara are serving meat blatently in Gurus langar and organisations such as Sikh Federation etc have not taken this up? It's disgusting to find that SC can only respond via forums and not actually answer emails and phone calls of complaints. People should not believe Sikh Channel or trust them at all. They want Sikh brothers and sisters to to come and help them - but they are treated like such crap. A LOT of Singhs and Singhnia went to help Sikh Channel but were treated like so horribly, you just wouldnt believe. Tell me Sikh Channel, what happened to Amrit-dhaari Sikhs like Rajvinder Kaur, Amrique Kaur, Prabhjyot Kaur, Manpreet Kaur, Baldip Singh, Darminder Singh, Gursevak Singh, Aman Singh, Jagmohan Singh, Nirmal Singh TO NAME A FEW? They were good channel controllers, or presenters, or editors, or journalists. What happened? What happened is, you treated them like cr*p and they all left because they were doing seva, getting paid pennies (if anything at all), and were abused in some way or the other. How many Singhs and Singhnia work at Sikh Channel now? Dear sangat, we have so much talent in the Sikh community, even just around the West Midlands. They were all sent to Sikh Channel at some point in the first 6-9 months on a mission to do seva and offer their services. However, they were abused so badly by Davinder Bal, that they left because they felt it was spiritually and mentally draining them - all because of the owner of Sikh Channel. If it wasnt for the businessman Davinder Bal and his greed for money and a bit of power, Sikh Channel wouldnt need dodgy european interns - they would have sevadars, Sikh volunteers, doing all this for them.

Did anyone go to Coventry on the weekend just gone? Sikh Channel were an EMBARRASSMENT. It's been over a year and you would think Sikh Channel would have got their tv crew trained up by now and be fully briefed on Gurdwara etiquette. Instead, you had girls in a MINI SKIRT and TIGHT SHORTS operating the cameras on the Mens side. In addition, they were chewing gum in Gurus darbaar. Me and my bro had to get up and move coz they were literally in my face. What the hell is all that about? And when Sikh Channel representatives were told, they didnt even care. No response other than "oh yeah". Its ridiculous. There also seems to be mega confusion as to who is who?! The people everyone thought were Sikh Channel reps, said they werent Sikh Channel reps but they were now Sikh TV reps! The Sikh TV crew looked so much better with amrit dhaari Singhs at the forefront. Then I tried to get through to Sikh Channel to air my anger but no one rang me back and all the Singhs and Singhnia I used to know working for the channel are no longer working for the channel. Infact, I have been told that 90% of Sikh Channel staff are non-Sikh whereas when it first launched, 90% of the staff were Amrit dhaari Sikhs!!! Surely these are MEGA steps backwards employing staff who chew gum, wear stupid clothes and have ciggie packs in their back pockets whilst representing Sikh Channel?!

Actually, looking at the video, it doesnt seem ALL that bad. Ain't you lot ever been to an AKJ rehansbhai?! There's people that move a LOT worse to the Gurbani that little kids swaying left and right!!!!!!

I havent seen them but no kids - animation or no animation - should be dancing along to Gurbani at all. What time is this programme on? This should be discouraged by Sikh Channel - not encouraged. And Sikh Channel, you are obviously active on this public forum - why can't you respond here? You're a community channel, this is a community forum :-) singh# - it doesnt matter too much if kids get the Gurbani pronunciations wrong, as long as they are trying. Maharaj forgives children because they are innocent and young souls. Parents should teach kids punjabi and santhiyaa from a young age. If kids make mistakes because they havent had that teaching, then the paap falls on the heads of the parents.

Not really. Never had a problem with Dastaar at airport. Why not take Eurostar from UK though? You can put your Kirpan back on on the train, take more luggage etc and probably cheaper too. The dastaar issue may have changed recently though from 1st July as they are allowed to hand-check your dastaar now in non-UK airports.

I find it quite disgusting, some of the responses on here. If you wanna blame anyone, blame the parents - she has been brought up her whole life being told she is Sikh by her parents and she seems genuine in the sense that she doesn't have a lot of education about Sikhism. You know, not everywhere in the world has great Sikh education. Personally, I would say if thats what she wants to do then go ahead and do it. It's her life. She isn't in Sikhi saroop and she hasn't purposely gone and caller herself "Kaur" to diss any of you guys. Theres plenty of girls out there who cut hair, and do a LOT worse than modelling who call themselves Kaur. So she came on TV and calls herself Kaur... do you really think people look at her and think "wow, all Sikhs must be like this?". People aren't that stupid. Turn on BritAsia and look at some of the GANDH on there. Not only girls, but the guys too. And how come "Hard Kaur" still alive?!
