  1. Only Five, kindly copy and paste instructions in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji or rehit that backs up your point that I'm doing nindya of Guru Sahib's way of serving the sangat. Were you there in the 1600's when the sangat was being served? Do you have any concrete evidence of the way in which the sangat was served and whether the methods ever differed. How exactly is serving sangat in a line going against the principles of khalsa? The khalsa is pure of heart and loves god, how can standing humbly and waiting for holy langar ever change that? Give me concrete backed up answers then maybe I'll begin to take your comments seriously. P.s You were being sarcastic, read your post again. P.P.S If you see a sevadar so close to the food then bring them up on it, don't tell me about it, however the same risk of 'spit' is also posed by sevadars serving the sitting sangat so your argument on that point is pretty weak.
  2. Sarcasm is the lowest form of speech. And no I'm not doing nindya of Guru Sahib, you however are doing nindya of sevadars and sangat all over the world. The gurus children are a part of the guru so you're the one doing the nindya. You are overlooking a whole lot, but if you really think you can make it work then go ahead and sort it out, no one's stopping you, there's no point in arguing about it.
  3. ^^take a chill pill mate. If you think you're right go to southall gurdwarra and get people to sign a petition for the way you think langar should work in the biggest gurdwarra in the UK. When your 'method' is up and running you'll see what I mean. You're being very unrealistic. p.s don't tell me I'm disrespecting My Guru when you're the one so interested in rituals involved with serving. You people are the type who ignore devotion and love, the core of our religion and pick on petty irrelevant things. p.p.s Your anger issues project onto your posts.
  4. ^^^That's your opinion and I have mine. Seva is about love and devotion and sevadars are serving with the same love and devotion. If you think otherwise and that it's becoming like maccis you are seriously deluded and insulting all that love waiting patiently and humbly for gurujis food and those who serve with love. I find it ridiculous that people are not humble enough to stand in line for the holiest food on earth.
  5. You've been given your answer and have been blessed to have gotten it so clearly!
  6. Amritsar is the holiest place on earth, not Times Square or a scientology temple. If we wanted amritsar looking like an apple store thats what it would look like. The focus is on the Guru not bill gates.
  7. Hi people From what I've seen the queue system works much better in certain gurdwaras. Also in smaller gurdwarras or when there isn't much sangat yes it is nice to be served langar but it is equally as lovely humbly waiting in turn for gurujis food which is lovingly served by sevadars. It doesn't matter how its served either way its about the love and selfless service and humbleness. Also in my experience a smaller sangat is able to cope with and keep track of the sangat and able to see who needs water etc and serve the sangat properly. With a larger sangat this is virtually impossible and also by the time say the daal comes around, the sangat may have finished their subji which was served before hand, paani may be served after the langar is finished, people may be overlooked and maybe even perceived to already have eaten. Different sangat coming at different times in great numbers makes it very difficult to serve properly. Godbless the sevadars that stand on their feet for hours lovingly serving langar to waiting sangat.
  8. Lol no they'd more likely think he's wearing a bandana which he could actually wear. The whole muslim ship sailed long ago when America wikipedia'ed him after he was elected only to find their muslim fighting hero's midde name is Hussein! Lol. The real reason: He's so corrupt and evil the sanctity of the place would blind him. And people worship him like an idol, it's mad. ^^I agree with you!
  9. Dreams can have a huge effect on us but only if we let them. Gurbani says that the world is an illusion and when we sleep and dream the illusion increases. Less sleep means less illusion, and little sleep is prescribed in gurbani. Dreams of god or anything to do with sikhi are good and worth remembering because they equate with truth. I have had dreams of the deaths of every single one of my family members in my life time and dreams where i've been slandered to the ground and have felt depressed all day long. Now I wake up and if the dream is depressing I remind myself it was just a dream, do morning paath and focus on guruji one pointedly and the dream is usually forgotten. The longer you dwell on a dream the more you'll prob remember it so try and put it out of your mind the minute you wake up and focus on god. Don't dwell on a fake illusory dream existence, focus on god who is truth. p.s If I took my dreams literally I'd be an orphan and a psychopath who talks to coats. And don't try those dream dictionaries either because they're full of rubbish!
  10. Man I hate it when my birthday comes around, I feel uncomfortable being the centre of attention! But paath sounds good for a birthday, to put the focus on babaji instead of oneself.
  11. Yes thankyou so much for that! It's come at I time when I really need it! I rarely ever smile and I think I'll smile more now!
  12. ^^I agree, I really like this bit
  13. I say all sikhs should boycott Virgin Active Gyms worldwide until sikhs are allowed in with kirpans. A facebook group should be set up spreading this message and a petition signed to overturn this rule. If it's not overturned, they'll be losing a lot of business, sikhs all over the world are getting fit and healthy to be able to better focus on paath and naam and the loss of business might hit them abit.
  14. Lol alot of ravidassiyas want to be called ravidassiyas just as many sikhs like to be called jatts. We're stuck in a self created situation which directly contradicts our very heritage and ancestors. We've become like different races with different names(castes). I believe the poster was calling them ravidassiyas as a way of identifying them, kind of like how on equal opportunities forms people are divided into categories like black, white, Indian(not brown), chinese and all the rest of it or in criminal situations where a suspect is described as caucasion, black or oriental looking. But yeh saying a few ravidassiyas would have been better because people are gonna take it as a discriminatory or derogatory remark. Having said that, as sikhi shuns the caste system I'll say that anyone who has a problem with someone identifying an individual as a ravidassiya jatt or any other caste needent because the only people offended will be those who identify themselves with a caste. If someone calls me a jatt or a silly jatt I wont respond because although my family are jatt, I wont take on that title- I'm a sikh.
  15. There are many variations of the turban, but any tightish head covering is sufficient in sikhi. And western clothes are fine, just not ones that are very revealing for a singhinee.
  16. If you don't agree with what they're putting up on their website then you should keep your morals and values in tact and stop them posting your work, or it would be a tiny little bit like me allowing rss hindus post my sikh writings on their website. But only you can decide, if you feel in your heart that its wrong to allow them to put your stuff up then ask them not to.
  17. Excercise, do cardio, running jumping jacks running on teh spot etc, then do naam jaap straight after. Ecercise is well known to lift depression, just keep it up and do abiut every time youre feeling upset but naam japp done sincerely really helps, relax and do it.
  18. Okay thanks for your help, also sorry to ask another question, what about family? I mean I aviod certain members of my family as much as possible b/c I cant stand their vibes and know they dont want me to be into sikhi. Innately I feel like they dont want me to progress. I dont feel peace even being in the same house as them.I just want to know if this is wrong as we're meant to live a householders life, but some of them are just so into kaljug that I cant stand it.
  19. Most of your post was nindya. I'm also a nindak, we all are, only the True saints and our gurus are not and we must look within guru granth sahib ji for guidance. That should be our preaching. When we are imperfect ourselves who are we to judge, we do not get that luxury, only those who have truly earned it do. 1)Par ninḏā par mal mukẖ suḏẖī agan kroḏẖ cẖandāl. Slandering others is putting the filth of others into your own mouth. The fire of anger is the outcaste who burns dead bodies at the crematorium. 2)So gurmukẖ nām japi▫ā vadbẖāgī ṯin ninḏak ḏusat sabẖ pairī pā▫e. Very fortunate and blessed is that Gurmukh who chants the Naam; it shall bring all slanderers and wicked enemies to fall at his feet. In light of number 2 quote from gurbani, the only way to handle slanderers is to chant the naam. We need to believe in naam, it means Truth is His name, it is satnam and it is the only boat that will carry us across in this dark age of kalyug. This is the definition of a true saint: ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ॥ असटपदी ॥ Asatpaḏī. Ashtapadee: ਮਿਥਿਆ ॥ मिथिआ नाही रसना परस ॥ Mithi▫ā nāhī rasnā paras. One whose tongue does not touch falsehood; ਮਨ ॥ मन महि प्रीति निरंजन दरस ॥ Man mėh parīṯ niranjan ḏaras. whose mind is filled with love for the Blessed Vision of the Pure Lord, ਪਰ ॥ पर त्रिअ रूपु न पेखै नेत्र ॥ Par ṯari▫a rūp na pekẖai neṯar. whose eyes do not gaze upon the beauty of others' wives, ਸਾਧ ॥ साध की टहल संतसंगि हेत ॥ Sāḏẖ kī tahal saṯsang heṯ. who serves the Holy and loves the congregation of saints, ਕਰਨ ॥ करन न सुनै काहू की निंदा ॥ Karan na sunai kāhū kī ninḏā. whose ears do not listen to slander against anyone, ਸਭ ॥ सभ ते जानै आपस कउ मंदा ॥ Sabẖ ṯe jānai āpas ka▫o manḏā. who deems himself to be the worst of all, ਗੁਰ ॥ गुर प्रसादि बिखिआ परहरै ॥ Gur parsāḏ bikẖi▫ā parharai. who, by Guru's Grace, renounces corruption, ਮਨ ॥ मन की बासना मन ते टरै ॥ Man kī bāsnā man ṯe tarai. who banishes the mind's evil desires from his mind, ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ॥ इंद्री जित पंच दोख ते रहत ॥ Inḏrī jiṯ pancẖ ḏokẖ ṯe rahaṯ. who conquers his sexual instincts and is free of the five sinful passions - ਨਾਨਕ ॥੧॥ नानक कोटि मधे को ऐसा अपरस ॥१॥ Nānak kot maḏẖe ko aisā apras. ||1|| O Nanak, among millions, there is scarcely one such 'touch-nothing Saint'. ||1|| ਮਾਣਸ ਤੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਭਏ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰੇ ॥ माणस ते देवते भए धिआइआ नामु हरे ॥ Māṇas ṯe ḏevṯe bẖa▫e ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā nām hare. They are transformed from humans into angels, meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਹਉਮੈ ॥ हउमै मारि मिलाइअनु गुर कै सबदि तरे ॥ Ha▫umai mār milā▫i▫an gur kai sabaḏ ṯare. They conquer their egotism and merge with the Lord; they are saved through the Word of the Guru's Shabad. <a class="dict" href="http://www.srigranth.org/servlet/gurbani.dictionary?Param=%E0%A8%A8%E0%A8%BE%E0%A8%A8%E0%A8%95" onmouseover="ddrivetip('iNānak /i The first Guru of the Sikhs, the founder of Sikhism', 250)" ;="" onmouseout="hideddrivetip()">ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਅਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ॥੨॥ नानक सहजि समाइअनु हरि आपणी क्रिपा करे ॥२॥ Nānak sahj samā▫i▫an har āpṇī kirpā kare. ||2|| O Nanak, they merge imperceptibly into the Lord, who has bestowed His Favor upon them. ||2||
  20. http://www.earthport...nger/nanak.html or http://www.scribd.co...rs-09-GuruNanak Read pages 2 and 3 or google Bhavekhath purana and loads will come up. This isn't the only prediction in the puranas, others can be found in the Rig Veda, Vishnu Purana, Yujar veda, Dhigvajeh Purana and the sage Patanjali says abit aswell. Thinking about it though I'm not sure how much of it's genuine so i'm gna delve into it abit. If anyone can let me know for sure if these are true then i'd appreciate it, I stumbled acoss these websites a few days ago.
  21. Yes sikhi is different to Sanatan Dharma and would RSS Hindus like to know why? Here's the reason taken from their own scriptures: In the BHAVEKHATH PURANA "Baavekhath" means "future foretelling". There are numerous places in this famous Hindu epic where the advant of Guru NANAK is directly alluded to. These instances are listed hereunder - "Guru thaa Brahma, Guru raa Vishnu, Guru raa dev maheshra saakhyaar Parbrehem Thasmei NANAK nameh" meaning "The Guru of the prophets, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiv ji is God almighty himself. This very Creator will manifest itself as a human, in the form of one whose name will be NANAK I think this answers most questions in the article.
  22. No it's definately getting worse, Most of it is behind the scenes now. And theres more black magic and horrific activities going on in the world than most people can comprehend, esp in western countries.

You need to keep your head up high and rely on god to give you strength, be proud to have the creator of the whole world on your side, . In your life as you become more religious you'll see bad traits in even your closest friends and some people let these get them down, but don;t focus on these, understand that even these people have are on the same path as you and have gods light in them, they just deny it, and when they die, they'll be punished badly for the bad things they've said against the One who made them. Don't be upset by what they say, pity them because you've chosen the right path and god will be with you all the way if you think of him. When you think of god/ the guru, hes there no matter what, your thoughts are very powerful. Do paath, do naam jaap. You've been blessed to be so wise for your age, In these times, you are one in a million, most kids don't spare a moment to think about god, and only think about playstation, friends, food etc. Lol so keep being amazing and keep your head up high and have faith in your creator, because a person with god on their side can't be hurt by anything unless they stop believing god is protecting them. You should have ultimate confidence, sikhs are warriors, both in the mind and on the battlefield, when we used to come on the battlefield grown men would scream and run in fear, so stop your bad thoughts when they come and think of god, read Guru Granth Sahib Ji and make sure you understand it properly or you won't get very far! Good luck and god bless you.
  24. You, as in your true self, are not bad. All the bad is kaljug, root out the darkness and you'll become the real pure you, goodness and gods light.
