For those that are in contact with the people that are incharge at Mata Sahib Kaur Academy, could you please ask them to update their site to include the current finical situation? Because it would really help if people could go on there site and see the issue about funds and also at same time see what great work they are doing. If we do get all major Sikh channels and Sikh websites to raise awareness, we need a place we could send them online or over the phone so they can talk to someone if they need to. People donate more if they can really talk to the people going through the hard time. I know there is a meeting being held but putting more information online would help more people. LIke I am sure people want to know why did they wait so long before bring this to sangats awarness. the amount of money they are short is not pocket change, they should have seen this coming and began raising awareness months before this payment was due, preferablly when the got the first extension.

I think part of the problem is the gurudwara sahibs around the world never really did much outreach to the younger generation and were almost potrayed in a negative light because of amounts of corpution and anti-sikh stuff going on. Now that most of the older generation is retiring, the ball is really in the younger generations court to donate more and keep programs running but they shy away from donating to Sikhi causes. We need to get more youth involved and as you said hold people accountable.

If you read the sakhi about Gurudwara Nankana Sahib and how it got freed from the evil mahant, you will know what I mean. Most of our natural instict would be to fight in those conditions. But look at those Singhs that gave their lives but did not fight back. It was their scarfice that brought the whole panth to arms and made the mahant run away, so the Gurudwara Sahib could once again be under the khalsa rule. There is no cryptic message. and you don't know if you have a good connection, only guru ji knows. Just be honest and even if it sounds silly, tell Guru Ji exactly how you feel about what happened in the langar and then ask for advice on what to do. After ardas, take hukamnama. If you can't understand the hukamnama post it on sikhsangat and I am sure many people are ready to help you understand the hukam and follow it.

How about this? It is Guru Ji's house, his langar, why don't you ask Guru Ji? Next time you go to the Gurudwara Sahib take a hukamnama after asking Guru Granth Sahib Ji advise on this matter. Then do accordingly.

It will find the virus and clean it. you'll be good to go.

A few days we decided my dad will go to India next week, so shopping had to be done this weekend. While we were shopping dad spotted jackets on sale, he bought about 10 or so to pass out to people that looked cold. When I said it was a nice thing that the poor people would apperciate it, I got scolding right there in the store. My father would like to remind everyone not to label people poor or rich because you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. When you label people, you make it hard for them to break out of the label.

Yes, we do shasterdhari but at same time we do need to have security mesures in place. Even in the Guru Sahiban time Singhs would have night duty to make sure they were never caught off guard. It is useless to have weapons if you don't even see the attack coming and get caught off guard.

I think its a respect thing, like my moms generation and the generations before never used name to call their husband. But todays generation, everyone uses name. People are more relaxed these days.

Is there any amrit sanchars this weekend around surry, canada? I just found out I am going this weekend and I want to take amrit while I am there, where I live there is not enough sangat for Amrit Sanchar to happen but once every few years. I can't wait any longer. So please someone check for me and let me know.

Whats the history behind it? And why is it only for boys? I can't find much online about how it started and stuff. I was wondering if sangat could help me understand it.
