  1. Where does trashing Guru Ji's property come into the Saint-Soldier aspect of Gursikhi?
  2. So let me get this straight....a group of Sikhs go to Dudley to protest that premises owned by the local Gurdwara were being used to stage celebratory parties where non-religious music was being played and alcohol and meat were being consumed by the party-goers. For the vast majority of the protest it was peaceful and admirable, (6 hours worth of it as some people have stated). The Sikhs protesting believed that the Hall was the property of Guru ji and therefore such property should not be used to hold such parties, (as per sandesh by the Akal Takhat). THEN you get a few of these ‘Sikh’ protesters who force their way into the Hall (Guru ji’s property) and they start to trash it and smash Guru ji’s windows....they don’t do seva in there...by cleaning the place up...by removing the alcohol etc...oh no...they decide to throw pots of meat and other foods all over the floor and smash a few windows in. Now IF this is the case, IF the CCTV shows this to be the case, THEN I hope the police/courts throw the book at them. Not only have they done beadbi of Guru ji's property by falling into Kroodh and stupidity, not only have they ruined the 6 hours worth of peaceful protest effort, but they've done the bearsty of the Sikh community by making out the Sikhs to be a bunch of thugs in the national papers. And what makes this even more laughably tragic is that the tw** who hosts the Sikh Youth Discussion show on the Sikh Channel has said the Panth will pay for ANY charges that the police put upon these vandals. Yeah you heard me right...Guru ji's Panth will pay the charges for those who vandalised Guru ji's property!! What a plonker!!
  3. Funky Designer Dastaars http://www.gosikh.com/Design.htm Shiny metal or Khanda print?
  4. A Sikh friend of mine said to me that she loved to do seva at the local gurdwara however at the langar hall the bibi's warned her about the male freshies that were doing seva at the langar hall too. Basically they were there doing seva at the langar hall to chat up the local Sikh girls and get into relationships with them. I guess that's one way of becoming 'pukkha'...
  5. Hey it's ok...you're probably right anyway!
  6. I had a freshie (trying to look like a Bollywood hero) stare at me on the train....although I found his tarka cologne (with essence of b.o.) more offensive.
  7. You maybe right...and if you are can you please provide the section in the Akal Takat Rehat Maryada that states what she is doing is incorrect.
  8. Even when someone wears a distaar we nit-pick...why are apne community so b*tchy to one another? Where is the love?
  9. How about 'The Man in Blue'? ...aka Harjinder Singh? http://maninblue1947.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/001-e.jpg?w=192&h=313
  10. Singh1986....I'm not saying I'm right...hey you could be right...but at this moment in time AV doesn't seem right to me. From what I know, out of the 3 countries that have AV, one of them, Australia, is planning on getting rid of it. ...and that's got to say something...
  11. You should vote for a party and it's mandate that you believe in....if the largest mandate is 30% of the entire vote then so be it....maybe if the other parties formed a coalition they could get a larger mandate....with so much choice of political views of course the total votes in the majority mandate would get smaller. The current system isn't perfect but in my opinion it's still far more suitable than AV.
  12. So votes with a 2nd preferences would carry more weight than a vote with just one preference.....that doesn't seem fair. Well the Great British public have overwhelmingly rejected AV.... ....and some people say that democracy doesn't work! :D
  13. There are a number of hukumnamas from the Akal Takhat that a lot of people don't agree with. (I posted one earlier but my reply got deleted the admins). We should agree with all the hukumnamas that the Akal Takhat issue and not cherry pick the ones we agree with.
  14. :D It's ok...from what I've heard they always end up in fights anyway...
  15. The DNA result for Osama Bin Laden has come back as 46% coconut, 29% cocoa, 19% sugar and 6% milk solids. An expert says this is probably due to the fact that he had a bounty on his head. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_vzv6rcpJt4k/S98V084MraI/AAAAAAAAAJM/CVccPoSJLfc/s1600/bounty_bar.jpg

    Pets?

If you keep a cat, don't you have to give it meat as food?...what happens if you have the Guru Granth Saihib in the same house?....
  20. "Clothes are meaningless"...what nonsense. :D
  21. Nothing in my statement was factually incorrect.
  22. My clothes aren't meaningless...they have a purpose.
  23. I made that statement based on experience and observation, however I'm not an expert in this field of science, hence a scientific study would be interesting. Sorry I must of missed the part in the Guru Granth sahib where it stated I had to sit on the floor to eat.
