  1. Prachar has been the biggest problem in our religion. Though Sikhism is the greatest religion on the universe, we are unlucky that we have not had good leadership or preachers to propagate the tenets and values to our own people. The teachings of our religion are the best as compared to any other, our sacrifices are unparalleled in the history of humanity but sorry to say, we are our own worst enemies. We should all be grateful to be born or been initiated into Sikhism which shows the most practical way to find Waheguru. Our Ten Masters have lead by example and the Eleventh Master Guru Granth Sahib ji shows us the path in every sphere of life. We have institutions like Guru Ka Langar which cannot be matched by any other religion. We are not bound by any superstions or rituals. We do not start our lifes as sinners as propagated by Christianity. We do not observe meaningless fasts like Muslims nor worship millions of gods like Hindus. The list of uniqueness and greatness of our religion is endless. But these qualities of our religion our recognized by very lucky few. It is our responsibility to spread the message of our Gurus and educate our own people and others about the greatness of our religion and not wait for someone else to do it for us .
  2. We do not want to hear anything about someone who has betrayed our religion and converted to another. These idiots should not be using Sikh names. They should change their last names to a Christian surname. Shameless, spineless, traitors.
  3. The warning is not enough. The so called Sikh leaders who have dared to go against the directives of the Akal Takht Sahib should be thrown out of the Panth.
  4. Congrats to the Sikh panth. This show how much we can achieve if we are united in our efforts. I am so pleased with this victory. We should use this as an .example of leading the world by working together.
  5. I have voted for United Sikhs and also forwarded this message to friends and family.
  6. May Waheguru shower His Blessings on the Sikh Sangat, Sikh Panth and all humanity. Thanks to this forum for encouraging everyone to recite His Naam. Keep up the good work in promoting Sikhism all over the world.
  7. Keep your ill informed guesses to yourself. Your guessing shows your weak character and a loose tongue which you use for slandering others. You need mental training to be fit to write on this forum.
  8. Sikhism means to face any challenge in life bravely and emerge victorious. Stop being miserable about your education, concentrate on your studies and excel in your field. Kirat Karna is one of the foremost duties of a Sikh. The world is not an illusion. It is an opportunity to remember and praise Waheguru (Naam Japna) and attain perpetual Bliss. So stop thinking and start living a life of a true Sikh.
  9. It is wrong to do these activities in a Gurudwara. Can some one from the Sikh Sangat in London do something to stop this crap.
  10. I have to give this to you for being so original. Lol, "bibian don't learn how to tie the dastar, so instead they tie the patka on their kids." So instead of thanking the mothers for looking after the hair of their children so lovingly, washing the hair regularly, combing them regularly, you want them to tie the dastar for them too. The lazy fathers should not even fulfill their duties of teaching the art of tying a turban to their children.
  11. Thanks S1ngh for clarifying your point. We as Sikhs have a responsibility towards our children to teach them the basics of Sikhism. We have to tell them clearly that patitpuna is not right, taking drugs is not right and so on.Even if we are living in Western countries, we have to teach the difference between the right and the wrong to our children. Otherwise how else would they know. Only five rightly says,"Simply telling a kid to do paat, doesn't put into context why they are doing it. They need a very detailed description of the reason to do paat and this is where the life of the Gurmukhs can be introduced." Like you said earlier, let us walk our talk. Be fearless and your kids will not know fear. Lead by example so that the world realizes they are dealing with a Singh who respects all, fears none.
  12. More important for every gurdwara to look at making Sikhs. More important for Sikhs to become Sikhs and most important to encourage our children to learn and live the path of Sikhi. No use to look at the military when Sikhs do not even understand the basics of Sikhism. Stop wasting our time bringing out such useless topics. Think about putting your time in becoming strong yourself and lead by example. Put your time in teaching Sikhism to the misguided Sikh youth of today.
  13. Please refrain from calling patka stupid. You have, I have and now my boys wear patkas to school. I live in a country which took me to towns in which my son was the only Sikh wearing a patka to his school. Rest all were your so called mona Sikh children. We as a family taught our young boy why we keep our hair. We taught him how proud are we to be Sikhs. We went to the school authorities and spoke to them about our religion, our beliefs and why our son has long hair and wears a patka. The school authorities made sure that everyone at school is made aware of our son's long hair and patka and that no one was to touch it. So the children learn from the parents and feel proud of their religion and are not afraid to stand out alone in a school with hundreds of other children with cut hair. Like I said earlier, it is the parents who have failed to infuse pride, knowledge and values of Sikhism in their children. And when the children become mona, it shows how weak their foundations were.
  14. Lol, you amaze me with your complexities. It would be a good idea to think and rethink before you write on this forum. On one hand, you write without thinking, "But the reason we are not strong is that Sikhs have lost too many wars." and then follow this with, "Wars we lost: Khalsa -v- British India." So losing one war is according to you "lost too many wars." So next time before you write here, have a nice shower, a nice cup of coffee, clear your mind and then go for it. Heed my suggestion and
  15. I am amused by your rationale about the patkas. What made you think that patka wearing kids found it hard and embarrassing to wear a pukh. The reason I believe is that even if parents were firm in Sikh values, they did not inculcate the same values in their children. If our children are taught the basics about why we value our hair and how many sacrifices we have given to maintain our identity, they would never think of becoming mona.
  16. Absolutely disgusting to see this picture. Shame on the idiots who are doing this. Of course it is beadbi of our Greatest Living Guru, Guru Granth Sahib.
  17. Again another example of your illogical views. What wars are you talking about? Wars are between two nations. So when did we become a nation and had wars with other nations?
  18. Sikh Sangat nu Guru Nanak Dev Ji De Parkash Divas diyaan Lakh Lakh Vadiayan.
  19. Very well said. These impostors should be stopped from misusing SIKH SYMBOLS.
  20. Grand victory for Sikhs. S. Trilochan Singh, who was denied the job of a Prison Officer because he refused to shave his beard has been given the job as well as USD 295K as compensation. He starts his job with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) on November 1st, 2011. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/uk/Sikh-wins-bias-case-gets-job-and-295K/articleshow/10525938.cms
  21. Sikh Sangat nu Bandhi Chhor Diwas diyaan lakh lakh vadiyaan.
  22. Keep your silly views to yourself. The young Sikhs have to wear patkas and then go on to tie dastars when they learn how to do it.
  23. Cannot see any signs or symptoms of any patka in your photograph.
