  1. No it is nothing sort of 'in my face' ; in fact I too got clarity between 'anger' & 'josh', and consequences of 5 chors. Thanks Bro
  2. The Sikh Coalition, a US based community group, has launched FlyRights, an innovative mobile application that allows users to report instances of airport profiling in real time. Reports filed through the FlyRights app will be considered official, actionable complaints by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the group said. "FlyRights creates a novel marriage between technology and civil rights activism. It is the first and only mobile application created to combat racial profiling at airports," the coalition said. The application becomes available for download April 30 in the Apple App Store and the Android market. Asking its supporters to download FlyRights on their phones and start filing reports of unfair treatment at airports, the group said: "Policy will not change unless you make your voice heard." "This application is easy to use and will ensure that your voice will officially be heard by the TSA and DHS," it added. http://timesofindia....ow/12933526.cms
  3. Many thanks for elaborating on anger & josh: This is what I was trying to put forward; but you have sent the message clearly. Thanks
  4. But without anger one cannot be in Josh; and Josh has to be there without one losing his Hosh (senses)
  5. Ys., you may be true, but black is nowhere mentioned or referenced or we can say associated with our Gurus..... We have to put forward each and everything in life in Hukm with Akaal Purkh (mukkh rakhde hoae). You all must have observed sky just minutes before sunrise..... see the colors of nature..... same Yellow-Blue-White (Chaanan) At the moment I don't remember the book/material/reference; but white color Nishan Sahib (flag) with Ik Oan Kaar was introduced by Satguru Angad Sahibji & was hoisted up til Satguru Hargobind Sahibji which he later on changed to Yellow (mustard flower color) representing shaheedi (martyrdom), during donning of Miri-Piri Kirpans. Pbhul chuk maaf
  6. Though not hard & fast but it is better to don attires of Yellow (Xanthic/Colour of Mustard flower-saron de phull), Navy blue & White; which are Sikkh colors; and have religious & historical importance in Sikkhism. I too have confined to wearing turbans, shirts, coats of these colors or mixture of these colors only (shirts).
  7. WJKK WJKF Khalsa can rule all planets, whole universe and every heart if they contemplate Gurbani, main point is following Gurmat.
  8. At the time of India's Independence, no other Asian city had so many educational institutions as Lahore. Lahore occupied pride of a place in Punjab's history, but in 98 years of British rule over Punjab, it saw only one Indian deputy commissioner, Ram Parsad Singh Grewal, a.k.a. S Pertab. A 1921-batch ICS officer of the Punjab cadre, Pertab had many firsts to his credit. He was also the first Indian deputy commissioner of Delhi and Shimla. Pertab was the deputy commissioner of Lahore from April 20, 1933 to October 16, 1933 and again from May 5, 1934 to August 17, 1935. A native of Narangwal village of Ludhiana district, he was born on June 1, 1896 at Rewa in the present-day Madhya Pradesh, where his father Col Heera Singh was commander-in-chief of the Rewa state forces. While doing his graduation from Khalsa College, Amritsar, he opted to serve in the British army as a jawan from 1914 to 1916. After his graduation, he went to Oxford for higher studies. He qualified for the Indian Railway Service and later in 1921 for the Indian Civil Service. He was promoted provisionally as deputy commissioner in April 1928 and was posted first in Rohtak, and then in Delhi, Ferozepur and Lahore. He also served in Montgomery for three years and lastly in Shimla. He died on June 16, 1939 after battling leukemia for two years when he was serving as DC in Shimla. His daughter Shiela was married to 1936-batch Indian police officer Kanwar Shamsher Singh of the Punjab cadre, who belonged to a prominent Hindu Jat family. Shamsher's father Rai Bahadur Lal Chand was one of the biggest landlords of Punjab. His elder brother Chaudhry Raghuvendra Singh was the founder of the DLF, a construction firm. Many incidents from Pertab's life show the greatness in him. He is particularly known for his adroitness in restoring Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj in Lahore in the summer of 1934 to the SGPC. The case pertained to a dispute over the ownership of land near the Lahore railway station, where a gurdwara and a mosque were situated. A full bench of the Lahore high court had ruled in favour of the gurdwara and ordered the demolition of the mosque. Muslim organisations had strongly opposed the judgment, which was followed by bandhs, 'hartals' and agitations all over Punjab, particularly in Lahore. Passions were running high and the atmosphere was tense. Some Muslim organisations had even warned the administration of bloodshed if it razed the mosque. The then British governor of Punjab, Sir Herbert Emerson, told Pertab to take charge of the situation and directed SSP Denys Killburn to obey the district magistrate's orders. Emerson told Pertab that the Viceroy wanted the British army to be deployed in Punjab. Fearing another Jallianwala Bagh in Lahore, Pertab told the governor that no army would be required. Unperturbed, Pertab contacted the Muslim elite of Lahore and told them "Look, you are much more conservative than the general run of the Sikhs and the Hindus; your ladies move out in 'burquas'. If Lahore is taken over by goondas, you and your womenfolk would suffer seriously." He got their approval for taking any necessary steps to maintain law and order. He also told the governor that if there was any lack of confidence in him, he was ready to be relieved, and the government could assume direct charge. Herbert asked, "If I take over here, Pertab, where would you go?" The ICS officer replied in his own style, "Sir, I would prefer the cool climate of Simla and a governor's job." Pertab got a free hand from the governor. He identified the ringleaders and directed the police to fire at their legs and no other place. The prodigious summer of June 1934 was no deterrent to the provoked sentiments of certain Muslim zealots. They agitated, created ruckus and attacked the police with stones on the day the mosque was to be razed. He identified the ringleaders who were taking shelter behind women and children and ordered the SSP to fire at their legs. The police obsequiously obeyed the orders. One ringleader was killed and a few others injured in the firing. The 50,000-strong mob ran helter-skelter. The mosque was finally razed and Gurdwara Shaheedganj handed over to the SGPC. Pertab plausibly got much accolades for his sagacious and prudent handling of a vexatious and communally charged situation. The then Viceroy, the Earl of Willingdon, appreciated in writing the cogent implementation of the high court orders. While in Ferozepur as DC on December 19, 1931, Pertab, along with a British SP, had chased and killed a dacoit and got a kidnapped girl restored to her family. It will not be out of tune to mention that when Lord John Simon was to visit Delhi in October 1928, Pertab was shifted from Rohtak to Delhi as provisional DC to handle the visit and the massive demonstrations planned to oppose it. In the last week of October 1928 when Lord Simon arrived in Delhi, Pertab tackled the demonstrators firmly, wisely stopped them in the Sadar Bazaar area and personally took Lord Simon to the Viceroy's office. It's one of the ifs and buts of history that had he been in Lahore during the Simon Commission's visit on October 30, the brutal lathicharge on Lala Lajpat Rai and its aftermath could have been avoided. Wherever he was posted, Pertab opened parks, worked for the welfare of the downtrodden and got ladies clubs and hospitals opened. While posted as Shimla DC in 1938, he had passed orders that nobody would stand at the Ridge. When Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan, the then premier of British Punjab, along with a few Unionist followers, stood there, Pertab had the guts to firmly tell him to move from there. The illustrious ICS officer was cremated in his native village on June 17, 1939. By: Ravinder Kaushik http://www.hindustan...le1-844497.aspx

  10. Long live Singh martyrs! They are the truest Singhs of Sikkhism who carried out our traditions of sacrificing for truth, justice & freedom of panth and writing history with blood. Real Heeras (diamonds) of the panth. Such people really merges within the light (Joti sang Jot smana) of Akaal Purkh. May Akaal Purkh bless our panth with charrdiklaa .....
  11. Khalsajio WJKK WJKF This is from a picture posted on facebook by 'Salutes the spirit of Sikhism' showing the couple in very unacceptable positions? The Veerji who posted it says he tried to stop many & reported it to the sevadars (see below in Gurmukhi). What has the SGPC come to, what where sevadars doing? Ki inhan di ijjat, sharm, gairat mar gayi e ? Where have our cultural values, morals, ethics, principles come to ? It will give very bad impression of us to the people who will see this photograph. It is highly intolerable. This is what Veerji says who posted it:

Property worth millions of dollars was looted and destroyed. 3. Dharmi Faujis: Immediate release, reinstatement & proper compensation to those Sikkh soldiers who had revolted in the wake of the attack on their most sacred & holiest shrine in 1984 4. Innocent Pilgrims: Immediate release, reinstatement & proper compensation to those innocent pilgrims who were taken into custody when the army attacked Sri Darbar Sahib are still languishing in Jodhpur & other jails since 1984. 5. Fake-encounters & other atrocities on Sikkhs (1984 to 1999): Punishment to those like KPS, J Rebiero, Sumedh Saini, Ajit Bains, etc; who were responsible for killing innocent, young or old Sikkhs in fake-encounters, extra-judicial killings, murdered by politicians-police vendetta & vengeance, kidnapping, rape, ransom, 3rd degree tortures, arbitrary executions. From 1984 till today, nearly 2,50,000 have been exterminated: - 50k in fake encounters (1984 to 1999), - 52k are still in jails (as per MASR: Movement against State Repression), some even more than more than 28 years, and the life terms is for 16 years! (see above # 3 & # 4) - India still holds 52,268 Sikhs as political prisoners under the repressive TADA law, which expired in 1995. It is also holding tens of thousands of other minorities without charge or trial. http://www.fas.org/i...error-india.htm And the perpetrators are awarded with higher positions of power, gallantry awards, and monetary rewards, medals on their chests & stripes on their shoulders. 6. Implementation of Anandpur Sahib Resolution 7. Anand Karaj Act 8. Deletion of Article 25 (2) (B) which refers to Sikkhs as a part of Hindu community. 9. Transfer of Chandigarh & Punjabi speaking areas to Punjab. 10. Giving deserving status to Punjabi language in neighboring states 11. Permanent settlement of water dispute as per riparian rules & rights 12. Rejuvenating agriculture sector: Bold steps are needed for drastic changes, professional approach and transparency in the system. It should be result oriented & sustainable so that agriculture becomes a lucrative business for the farmers & they are debt-free. 13. World class public health facilities & education to the citizens of Panjab 14. Stop changing demography of Panjab
  13. To take the revenge of attacking the our most sacred place, indira was ultimately killed & her son called meeting of his cronies & spineless-sycophant in which it was planned & meditated to massacre the Sikkhs to take revenge of their mother. Sikkh young & old, women & children were openly killed, murdered, burned, eyes gouged, raped, burning tyres were put in their necks. This cold-blooded massacre continued round the clock for several days. A Sikkh was murdered/killed every minute right under the nose of the rulers in the capital of the so called world’s largest democracy. It was govt. sponsored genocide & extermination of the Sikkhs in which the so called the guardians of democracy govt. politicians, bureaucrats conspired to annihilate the whole Sikkh community. Not contented, the govt. then unleashed vendetta & vengeance by openly abusing civil liberties & fundamental rights, started fake encounters, pronounced biased judgments and as a whole branded the whole Sikkhs as terrorists & anti-nationals. The only electronic media at that time DD was govt controlled & was used by the government in spreading the propaganda. After operation blue-star many other operations were launched during this period 1985-1997 : Black-thunder (1986 & 88), operation Mannd, Opr Clean, man-made floods, opr Woodrose, Opr Research, Opr. Final Assault, etc The Indian newspaper Hitavada reported that India paid the late governor of Punjab, Surendra Nath, $1.5 billion to foment and support terrorist activity in Panjab/Khalistan and in Kashmir. http://www.fas.org/i...error-india.htm The perpetrators now are either MPs, MLAs, or are in positions of power. Some were given gallantry awards, monetary rewards, out-of-turn promotions, medals on their chests and strips on their shoulders by the government for carrying out the genocide. From fake encounters, now, the form has changed. It is to divide & exterminate: - Narcotics, drugs are easily available at all medical stores and kirana shops, - Tthekas at every nook & corner of villages, towns, cities. - deras in disguise of Sikkhism: 50k+ major/minor, private/religious deras, tantrik, - Mushrooming of political parties & groups in the name of Sikkhism - Maltreatment of Panjabi language Even after passing of 28 years, justice is not dispensed to the victims. The judiciary is unfair & media is biased (as we have seen recently in Bhai Rajoana case). If there is to be any hope for us it has to be a resurgence of our spirit of freedom and the courage of conviction.
  14. Dear Bro Yes, the dictionary meaning of riot is clashes between two groups of different communities. But here only the groups of Hindu community were attacking the unarmed Sikkh; which clearly means a holocaust or genocide.
  15. Dear Veerji, WJKK WJKF As per info available with me regarding SGPC, i m sharing with you as below..... SGPC was formed on 15th Nov 1920 when Jathedar Teja Singh Bhuchar called a meeting of all Sikkh bodies & organizations at Akal Takht where it was decided to oust the pro-government priests from other gurudwaras and to restore the management of Sikkh gurudwaras according to Gurmat Maryada; and hence formed a committee of 175 members to run their management. It is a religious autonomous institute of Sikkhs. It has its own Gurudwara Judicial Commission. Presently it has total 190 members out of which 170 are elected, 15 nominated and 5 members are Singh sahibans who don’t have voting rights. Next month on 14th December, 1920 a political wing was formed to carry out the agenda of the SGPC, which is today known sadly as SAD. Initially it was just a panth, but after 1947 when the scenario changed the SAD become a full fledged political party in Punjab, neighboring states and is a partner of a coalition at national level; and the latest about SAD is history which everyone knows about. Pbhul-chuk maaf

  17. WJKK WJKF Zillions & zillions of salutations to a true Singh. Till now we have only heard varaans & saakhis about sacrifices of our ancestors but now we are witnessing history in the making. May Akaal Purkh bless him with chardi klaa. http://www.***anti-sikh website not allowed***/pages/Mar/27/frs12.jpg

  19. What can be expected from such govt., where all the murderers are still roaming scott-free? If we demand justice we get jails, torture, extra judicial killings, fake encounters in thousands, loss of property worth crores, attack on the holiest & most sacred places like Darbar sahib, Akal Takth sahib, genocide (1984) where thousands in number were massacred in 110 cities of 18 states. Even after 28 years, justice is denied to the 1984 genocide victims by the so called world's largest democracy & longest written constitution. On one side the butchers (genocide 1984) are roaming free or given life-sentences or released early from the prison on the other the people asking for justice are hanged. Militancy breeds there, where there is violation of human rights, where justice is doubtful and verdict is biased. Politicians & political conditions create a fertile ground for militants/extremists. May Akaal Purkh bless our panth heros.....
