  1. tanu kaur bhenay, guru ji had the masands burnt alive after the sangat made it known to him in the form of a play as to what the masands were doing. the instituion of the masands was started by earlier gurus (can't remember which ones) to do parchar of sikhi and collect donations to run parchar and other welfare of the community. over time these masands became hungry for power and wealth, thereby started abusing the sikh community. in the name of the guru and sikhi, they would extort money from poor followers of the guru and treat them horribly. The poor people, some who lived very far from guru ji, would take the masands as the representatives of the house of guru and submit to their torture. To ask whether guru ji was the "punishing type" is a naive question as you need to understand the history of what happened and the feeling of oneness with the sangat that guru ji demonstrated in that episode... he teaches us that guru ki sangat is to be treated with utmost respect, he without any favouring shows that attrocities, whether conducted by the mughals or even the guru's "very own," will not be tolerated...he defended the rights of those who couldn't defend them himself...he set the record straight... also, guru ji is the epitomy of love and mercy...for us worldy people...burning someone alive...oh that's so merciless and vengeful...however, if we reflect on it deeper, we will realize the immense mercy of the guru...in burning the masands he prevented any more abuse against his humble sikhs and also, he prevented the souls of the masands from committing more sins against humanity... it is also noteworthy, that our guru in his divine wisdom didn't burn/punish all the massands...there were still some humble masands that did seva of the house of guru with their heads on their hands...these masands were spared...however the institution of masands was abolished at that time....
  2. i agree with you that discussion is necessary.. however, the discussion should be with the intention of learning and growing... many times these discussions aren't really discussions...it's two sides that come to argue solely on their points and not willing to be open that they may not know everything... and then when we all get to points where we know there isn't going to be agreement...because not all issues have a black or white answer...we start judging each other...in fact, i disagree when you say something is gurmat and the other isn't...there may be a third option in which gurmat says nothing about the issue?... i've even seen the repeated misuse of literal translations of gurbani to push certain points of views...one only has to look at one of the dastaar threads when a line of gurbani was taken out of context and i had to export the viakhya from prof sahib singh ji's teekha to show that the meaning of the pangti was not as being presented... in regards to size of some sister's dastaar...if we look at the tone in the posts, it was not a tone of genuine discussion but rather one of complaints and ridicule...naming a "pancake dastaar" is degrading fellow human beings in line with gurmat? is ridiculing others gurmat? What is the point of discussing the guru's rehit and trying to discuss gurmat when the manner in which we do it breaks the most basic and most direct instructions of gurmat?
  3. if someone isn't amritdhari, we complain that they should be amritdhari... if they're amritdhari, we say oh why isnt she wearing a keski... if she's wearing a keski, we say it's not big enough... and if the keski is big enough, we might find out that they do the sgpc nitnem of 3 banis instead of 5 in the morning and complain about that... if they do the "proper" nitnem according to us, we might find out they eat chatka and start complaining about that... then if they also become vegetarian, we'll start complaining about them not eating out of sarbloh and aren't bibeki... if they do all that, we'll find out their views on raagmala, their views on dasam bani, their view on khlaistan, their view on mool mantar, and start complaining... LIVE and LET LIVE... ps...i'm not complaining about everyone complaining...simply pointing out our complaining natures
  4. can i ask the reason why you'd have 2 sarbloh karay? also, are your karay rounded? or do they have sharp edges? cuz i used to have a sharp edge one and i noticed a lot more hair removed with that...now i have completely round one...not sure if it's changed the hair removal...but it's more comfortable... i think with any kara..you'll notice a difference in hair on the two wrists... like Singh132 has said...not a big deal...worry about doing simran, nitnem, living in remembrance of the waheguru...concentrate on what the Who's hair it is, concentrate on Who gave you the kara...and serving Him
  5. usually, good quality vodka won't have a smell... but in any case, 99% of medications have an alcohol component... the kurehit is intoxicants...not alcohol per se... just like..marijuana is a plant...and it's an intoxicant..so you wouldn't want to use it for a non medicinal purpose...you wouldn't start saying that we should stay away from all plants...
  6. very inspiring article... may guru ji continue to bless his daughter with his love so she may continue to be an inspiration to all her brothers and sisters.
  7. i can understand the frustration of the sangat. i know that i found a lot of the content on that site inspiring..the audio, the video...i hope all that content can be uploaded to the other existing sites, so that sangat can still get lahaa from it. and definitely a heartfelt thank you to the sevadaars who did seva of running that website. hope guru continues to bless you with gursikhi jeevan and good luck in your future endeavours.
  8. just a question... what kind of leader declares a separate nation (and in doing so declaring war with the central government) from outside the nation and stays abroad during the years where thousands of young singhs lives were endangered? didn't all great leaders lead the troops into battle instead of watching from the sidelines? also...what did chohan ji do on the international stage? did he write papers and present them to human rights organizations? did he engage the media in the western and eastern hemispheres? what was his contribution other than declaring the separate nation. How did he promote this idea among the sikhs of punjab? how did he help the sikhs of punjab? what did he have to say or do about the many sikhs that died...both those in the movement and the many innocents that were killed in fake police encounters. these are questions that i have had about this man for a while...i was wondering if those who are saluting can tell us a bit more about what dr chohan was all about. what he did, what type of jeevan he led...
  9. Below is taken from an english translation from a speech that gurmukh piyaray bauji gave to the sangat during a samagam in 1982 in pind Dodra. Eka bani ek guru eko shabad vichar God is one- the Ominipresent, the Omnipotent, the Omniscient, and is best represented by His NAME, theSHABAD or WORD or LOGOS or NAAM. The entire universe is existing and sustained under His supreme law. This supreme law is called HUKAM. The more we meditate upon his NAME and contemplate on His virtues, the more we enjoy His Presence and Bliss. The meditation on SHABAD alone will lead us to the inference that there is, in this creation, onl ONE GURU and Dispeller of the Darkness of Ignorance, and Harbinger of the Light of Knowledge. Thus, SHABAD is the Supreme GURU of all and the Revealer of the Reality. Such a GURU has only: 1. One Sermon to preach to all humanity 2. One knowledge to disseminate 3. One light to show the way out. 'Tis all one, all One,; the same, the same, the sam, the same EVER... Gurbani embodied in Guru Granth Sahib is the sermone of ONE, the Supreme God of all. Guru Gobind Singh bequeathed this Gurbani as the ever-living Guru of all. Whatever is from the Divine, is, therefore, univeral, and not sectional or sectretarian at all. The Gurbani that descended down to man and mankind through the Body called Guru Nanak, was this very SHABAD-Eternal, whose visible forms may vary, but Essence remains the same.... Naam, or Word, or Logos has no caste.... It is for all, being above all, above caste, coummunity clime and country; it is as much for the masses as for the classes. And those, who followed the teachings of Guru Nanak, came to be called "sikhs" A sikh is one, who is a student of the spiritual science ( a devoted disciple of the Guru), one who willingly and voluntarily comes forward as a seeker of the Supremem, and to that end is ready to receive spiritual instructions. Thus, the word Sikhs stands for those, who came to Guru Nanak seeking to know his SHABAD. Guru Nanak bani or Guru Nanak's Word or Gurbani is meant to enlighten and illuminate the entire mankind. To say that Guru Nanak is, or was a Sikh Guru, and Gurbani is for the Sikhs only - spoken or sung or written by a Sikh Guru - is to disown Guru Nanak and belittle bani. It is as bad and as wrong as branding the Sun, the Moon, the Stars, the air and the water we live by! Only because Guru Nanak-bani or Gurbani has been propounded in what we like to call Punjabi, it does not follow or mean that it has to remain confined to the punjab or must be kept confined to the Punjabis or to Punjabi speakers only. Let this be made very clear that the WORD or SHABAD is the only Guru - because it alone is capable of removing the darkness of ignorance, being itself Prakash Sarup Remember: Shabad is Prakash-Sarup; and Prakash is Shabad-Sarup Therefore, our Psyche or Surat is to be attuned to, and to be made to live at, "at-one-meant" with these both - forming a - "Shabad Guru, surat dhun chela" Surat-shabad prakash. The Nirankar expresses HIMSELF through His "shabad" in order to enlighten the whole humanity, and in the process becomes mankind's Guru, the only Guru, the Sat Guru: Aad-ant ekay avtara, soi guru samjhio hamara. He who be Sans Alpha, San Omega, and ONe and the same EVER, Know ye Him, and Him alone, to be our GURU - The Dispeller of the darkness of our ignorance. It is unwise of us to tend to limit the UNLIMITED! there we err. So the urgent need is to be 'introverts', seeking the Supremem "within" the centre of us, the core of us, the remotest recesses of our heart. 'Right-About-Turn' and inward march - deeper, deeper, deeper, down to on ABSOLUTE. What we call 'religion' is in a sense, two progned or two faced or two aspected. One aspect of it is the 'outer' aspect and that we term as karm kand. But it is to be remembered that this karam kand was never meant to be an end in itself. It is only a 'means' to an end. the other aspect is to enter within and that is the END. For, only when we merge with the Ultimate, do we begin to live for ever. If the karam kand does not justify itself, with that end as "END", it is useless for us, for, it's only objective is to impel us , to compel us and to propel us 'inward' - to drive us deep within, and deeper and deeper and deeper, till we arrive at the ultimate Depth, and are able to say to ourselves: NIJ GHAR (My own home) Just to teach us this, Guru Nanak toiled taking ten different Bodies and full two centuries and a half to drive the lesson home - this lesson of Returning Home; and thus putting us in direct contact with the Shabad, the Ultimate. How much did people heed then, and how much do we heed now? Does, or does not our 'honest answer' put us to shame- burning shame? And that is the trouble; that is the tragedy - with our entire being, - with the entire fabric of our Society today, - with our leaders in the political field, and - with our leaders in the religious field and more with them than with any other. Before the Bar of Divine Justice, our religious leaders will be judged and found wanting and worthless clay; will be called to account and, you can well imagine what will be the judgement. The Jyoti or the Prakash that impelled and propelled the Shabad-Sarup Body, named Nanak and the Bodies that followed, now dwell in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Thus, this is the eleventh Body that NANAK Abides in and resides in; this Holy Guru Granth Sahib that we see here is the emobdiment of the JYOTI - the Prakash - the Sefl-Effulgent Light Eternal, as also the Shabad- Brahm - thus of both Shabad and Prakash: hence, venerable and worthy of worship. Since it is that, it goes without saying that Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the sup-up of Shabad-Prakash, summed up in this Body, will ever live, survive and surmount all winds and whirlwinds and all the onsloughts of the diabolical forces of darkness. This LIGHT will out-light all darkness, and out-shine all lesser lights. We have to meditate on this SHABAD, ponder over it, and imbibe it - by turning inward....becoming INTROVERTS (antar-mukhi). For then and then alone will the secrets of the Gurbani be revealed to us. This Shabad-Guru is ever with us. Shabad alone as GURU can best perform this function. And we are NOT goig to be blessed with all these Blessings till we turn WITHIN- INWARD. We people do not need or deserve all this talk, for we are not an entirely ignorant lot. We already know much. And we know enough. Not that we do no know, we do know. Only we have deliberately and consistently chosent to ignore this lesson. we don't care, and, We don't want to be bothered! We have become what we were when Guru Nanak's advent took place half- a-millenium ago. We are today what we were before His advant. All what we now have for Guru nanak or Guru nanak bani, the Shabad Guru and the Gurbani is a 'deaf ear' or 'indifference'! To understand and imbibe the DIVINE WORD, we have to make a 'RIGHT-ABOUT TURN', turn inward within aided by advice from Enlightened Souls. Their sangat (company) will lead us on - deep down to the remotest recesses of teh ETERNAL and the ONLY REALITY. The SHABAD or REALITY is 'Only One' - not two; no dulaity is involved. THe Truth or Reality is One. The learned ones expound and propound it in various and varied ways - the Muslims one way, the Christians another way. But the actual-factual Reality remains the same, the same EVER; the Eternal and Infinite.. It is the ONLY REALITY. EKO YAZDAN, DEEGAR NEST God alone is there, nothing else exists - except in name and form. The ultimate reality Namless and Formless. We have to search for it, find it, locate, reach it and realise it in our 'insides' - within our 'within' - in the 'within' of our within - by churning that 'within' of ours. We have to search and find the LIGHT or PRAKASH that the SHABAD is. BUt the tragedy with us all is that we, like the winter-rats, have gone deep down into our dark holes, obstinately refusing to receive LIGHT that is being beamed at us by Baba Nanak. We singh Nanak's praises, but do not practice his advice. What wisdom!! We have become the silk-worm - warm in its cocoon - quite oblivious of the Prakash witin and the Prakash without. And all this only because of our 'illusionary EGo' We have carefully and confidently confined ourselves to a closed cage- caught in an EGO complex of our own making. Again, what wisdom!! Heeding to the Shabad-GURU or GURU-Shabad or Guru-bani is the ONLY WAY OUT, to get out and to remain out of this world of negative thoughts and materialism. I repeat, the Gurbani way or the "nanak way' is the ONLY WAY. This is the only way that will take us out. AND keep us out. Out of the maze of, this muck, this mud, this quagmire. This Art or this Science, we will learn only in the University of Sadh-Sangat, with the Gurbani as our Guide and Text. Sadh ke Sung Nahin Kuchh Ghal, Darshan Bhetat Hote nihal.
  10. dearest bhenji, I urge you to go see the doctor. Start with your family doctor and let him know how you've been feeling. He can prescribe some treatment for you or pills. However, you can tell him that you would prefer not to go the medication route and ask to be referred to a psychiatrist. They can then tailor their therapy with you. I know there is often times a social stigma in our punjabi community about seeing such physicians, but please know that there is no shame or anything in seeking help when we need it. You may be absolutely right that you probably didn't have proper time to grieve for your daughter's death. Seeing the psychiatrist maybe once a week or so to talk through your thoughts and feelings and any other help they can provide would be a healthy way for you to work through the grief process and at the same time be able to manage your life and your family. And of course gurbani and simran always help. If there is someone in the community you live that is an elder and has a deep sense of simran, you can also talk to them...simply the positive vibrations from such a soul would help you work through your process. Do you attend sadh sangat? they would also help in your condition.
  11. how are the tapoban singhs like muslims trying to force their beliefs down people's throats? have they come to your house, your gurdwara telling you how to live? they haven't come to the gurdwara that i go to and forced anyone to believe anything actually... in fact...i actually admire the fact that they took the time out to do gurmat veechar with ghagga cuz it actually showed that they were trying to be constructive in their approach...instead of just calling akal takt and asking everyone to boycott him...they actually met with him and tried sorting things out...that's actually pretty respectable.. and you talk about being narrowminded...if kulbir singh thinks that naam is only waheguru simran...and you say what the hell...aren't you being narrow minded to dismiss his belief as "what the hell"
  12. dancing warrior... you're actually quite wrong in your last statement...He always responds...it's just sometimes His response isn't the one we expected...gurbani says totally opposite from what you said in your last statement.
  13. Just to weigh in here..cuz i don't think i ever posted in the original ghagga/anti-ghagga threads... in regards to what dasmesh regiment has said..from the example of the child and whatnot...it would appear as if kulbir singh veerji was wrong... however...i am someone who fully believes the same thing as kulbir veerji and singh 132 veerji in regards to the power of ardas...watching the video..i feel it wasn't explained as well as it could have been...that said...if you watch it carefully..kulbir veerji doesn't really get a chance to go more in depth into the power of ardas...and how ardas should be done...ghagga just takes his one example...and tries to throw the example in his face...this is the tactic used when someone doesn't want to let another person explain more in depth what's going on... and interestingly enough, many people were jumping in and not letting either speaker to effectively give their message across.. first off...ardas is a FUNDAMENTAL BASIC concept in sikhi...this is in NO WAY meaning to offend ghagga or anyone of the people that associate with him...but for the LIFE of me...i CANNOT UNDERSTAND...how someone who does parchar and claims to be an expert in terms of sikhi would not know the power of ardas...also...it really shows the lack of research done on the part of ghagga...because there are many sants/bhagats/mahapurshes that have written on simran and ardas... also..since i know the missionaries think that all people who are called sants are wrong in everything they say...i will name a few people who did not have the sant title next to their names who have experienced and written extensively on the topic of simran and ardas...namely...Bhai Sahib Bhai Vir Singh ji (someone that is respected globally in the sikh community among all jathas/and no jathas), Prof Puran singh ji (a very strong academic, a bigger intellectual than most of the people who make their anti-simran, anti-ardas claims) and Bhai Raghbir Singh 'bir' (also another gursikh who was an fierce intellectual)...i cite these examples only because in reading many of the articles by the sikh missionary people...it seems they put an emphasis on the intellectual analysis of things and call everyone else unparr... well here are three examples of people who were known as leaders in academics and they too were humble enough and sincere enough and sensitive enough to the divine mysticism of our Guru's Sikhi... The simple answer to ghagga ji's question regarding why tohra or vedanti's ardas never yeilded children...first off...as much as sangat's ardas is helpful...one must also do ardas for themself... and for an ardas to effective there are a set of criteria that need to be met...these are actually outlined in very simple yet elegant terms in Bandginama written by Bhai Raghbir singh ji... here is a passage taken from this great book... The following conditions are the prerequisites of a fruitful prayer: firm faith in God's existence, in His power to grant the prayer, and in the soundness, propriety and efficacy of your prayer; love and reverence for God during prayer; and a pure, receptive heart... The second type of Ardas or prayer-that is, individual or personal prayerof a Sikh may be elaborate, as is the congregational or Sikh prayer, or it may be short, couched in our own words, according to our individual needs and feelings. In this case, no special form, prescribed words, special technique or rhythm are needed. Only the mind must be shaped in a humble mould answering to the spirit of the sacred verse: I do not come into the picture, I am nowhere, I have nothing that I can call mine own. mai nahi kachh hao nahi kichh ahe na mora Sadhna - Bilawal. Such a prayer poured forth by the soul fies Heavenward. The language of the soul is not garbed in sonorous, high-pitched phrases. It is a language of thoughts. When we learn how to pray correctly, the response is instantaneous. We have an ecstatic feeling. There is wonder, mixed with delight, at the actual materialization or fulfillment of the prayer. Personal or individual prayer cannot possibly be uniform or stereotyped, for we are in varying stages of spiritual growth. Pour forth thy heart's prayer to God, Shed thy shrewdness, Dedicate thyself, thy mind and body, to God. jia ki birtha hoi so gur pahi ardas kari chhodi sianap sagal manu tanu arapi dhari Guru Arjan - Gujri-//-Gauri. God cures all pains; He is the bestower of comforts. He who prays with faith suffers no ills. tine tap nivaran hara dukh hanta sukh rasi ta kau bighan na kou lagai ja ki prabh agai ardas Guru Arjan - Todi.
  14. our gurus already and continue to give us guidance for us to live in the world we live in today...materialistic things have always been changing, are changing and will continue to change...all that is deesanhaar is binsanhaar... however, naam and the basic divine laws of nature will always be the same... guru nanak in his ten bodies and now in guru granth sahib ji teaches us to do simran, seva, and sadh sangat... tells us to earn an honest living, share what we have and live in remembrance of the lord... advice that is priceless and timelesss....so no need to wonder what they would say..
  15. absolutely ridiculous... i'd say...those people in the bank who acted like that are ALSO different than Sikhs of Guru sahib... if the guy had a problem with the calender and had a point of view...someone coulda just explained nicely... and if he didn't agree..who cares?? but to abuse him and push him out of line and out of the bank...well..that's stupid... pathetic...
  16. it is good you brought this issue up...certainly one that needs to be discussed... however, two things... one this does not need to be in the gupt section two, it needs to be discussed with the committee if you want any change or results...it's a good thing you brought it up, perhaps other youth in your area and other youth on this forum can give you suggestions in how to approach the committees in a positive manner and to discuss the issues. i would suggest that you call the secretary or whatever position they have and arrange a meeting between yourself, maybe one or two other community elders and the members of the committee and ask for clarification as to how they came up with the charge they are charging...you never know, they may have a good reason. However, if after discussing with them, you aren't fully satisfied with the reasoning, then there are other methods of discussing with the sangat...if there is an election coming soon at the gurdwara, you can force this to be one of the issues discussed, cuz people want votes, so they will be open to listening....and other ideas i'm sure the mods and admins can provide you. i would also recommend that at all times conduct yourself in a calm, respectful manner...that will let the issues highlighted be communicated effectively.

    Who Came First?

the prophet mohamed was born around 570 AD. bhagat ramanand ji is said to have come much later than that..as the bhakti era was started like in the 1200s or later...also, kabir ji, pipa ji, dhanna ji, were all disciples of ramanand ji and they all were in the 1400s/1500s

    I Need Help

when we do simran, seva, sangat...and read gurbani, do kirtan...trying to clean the layers of dirt we have accumulated...after each layer is discarded, the layer of dirt (paap from past lives) becomes exposed...we can't do anything about that...that is why people on the spiritual path, will sometimes feel great at times, and then feel really low at times...and have difficulty cocentrating...but take comfort in knowing that this is a natural process in spiritual progression..the key is to not let these thoughts take power...cuz if you do, then instead of letting them pass and going down to the next layer...you'll make these thoughts stronger..and you'll either be stuck there or be lead astray off the path...trust me...it's a HARD HARD THING to over come... that is why for the spiritual aspirant sadh sangat is necessary all the time...cuz we don't know what layers of paap and lower thoughts we have..we don't know what our mind could come up with next, hence we need the perpetual love and guidance of the sadh sangat....so my suggestion would be to go to any sadh sangat in your area...sit in guru ji's hazoori with fellow gursikhs, listen to the kirtan, do seva (hathaan di seva)...that will bring peace...
  19. wiicked, i'll practice my runway walk..haha

    Bleach

hmm...this is all nice and dandy...but if you ever asked ladies of the older generations, ie. grandmothers...you'll find out that facial hair wasn't an issue for them...as they didn't have it... now i wonder if they had facial hair in guru sahib's time...none of the paintings show it either... also...there is a difference between male facial hair growth and female...everyone has hair all over their body..well most people do...even girls have hair on their face, but it is naturally more fine and not very visible, whereas guy facial hair is thicker, hence visible...when a girl starts exhibiting male pattern hair growth, it is NOT a natural thing, medically speaking...this is an imbalance of hormones, also environmental factors come into play...anyone in medical school will attest to this... not sayng whether to bleach or not...but just highlighting to all "gursikhs" here that there's more to it than just saying..love the guru, keep the hair...what about if some of you had a skin tumour that consists of abnormal division of hair cells and they start growing...would you treat it? or would you say, oh no, i love my guru...and have the cancer spread and die?..the guru requires love, but he also gave bibek buddhi to think and do vichar and act accordingly
  21. never take amrit just because you want to get married..that is absolutely the wrong reason for taking amrit...all of you who are telling him to take amrit and then find a wife should be ashamed of yourselves for bring guru ji's oocha soocha amrit down to a marriage criteria...disgusting... veerji, if you're on the path of about to take amrit...then stick on it...if someone will look at you and see a sincere soul yearning to walk the path...they will appreciate that and want to marry you...you take amrit when you feel ready for it and can't live without it...not in order to impress any amritdhari girl... if people simply hear the fact that you aren't amritdhari and turn away without seeing if there is more to the story, then i believe they are shortchanging themselves... i have yet to see this so-called rehit of amritdhari only marrying amritdhari supported by any gurbani or gurmat ithaas...if someone could show support from any of these, then i would definitely change my mind on it... yes.having teh same spiritual path is very very important...that doesn't necessarily equate that both are amritdhari...what if both have the same goals in their spirituality and one happens to be amritdhari and one is on the road to taking amrit...and are perfect in every other way, you will say no?...that doesn't make sense...
  22. militant kaur ji, if you ever need models to show off your work, sign me up...haha... actually i think fashion design is really cool...it's artisitic..and there's nothing wrong with it..as long as it's done remembering that we are sikhs of the guru and what is dignified... i think it would be cool that a gursikh could create fashions that are worn worldwide and that are beautiful creations and dignified..would show the world, that you can dress trendy and classy without having to give up your beliefs and dignitiy... and having a bunch of singhs and kaurs model it...well...that would be way cool...
  23. Singh veerji, saying that harmandir sahib should be the rolemodel is a load of BS...i'm sorry to say it but it needs to be said... why? cuz i can show you more than several ways that the maryada of harmandir sahib is NOT in accordance with guru sahib's sikhi... i dont' even have to list them here...i'm sure you are knowledgeable and know this also... but maybe then you agree and would be happy if your bhens were barred from doing kirtan in all gurdwaras... and its nt like these guys are clapping out of control...it's just part of their parampara of how they sing in the qwalli style...see absolutely nothing wrong with it...unless it is written anywhere in guru granth sahib, dasam granth that any type of clapping in guru sahib's hazoori is wrong. the Rehit as written is one thing, but even the rehit must be subjected to the teachings of Guru sahib... to see if it is parvaaan.
  24. why don't you just get a wrist band..and slip the karra under that...that way your teacher will be more comfortable with it not hurting anyone.. if you wear a dastaar ...you could do what i used to so and just take it off when you're changing for gym and put it in your dastaar...this was for when we had to play contact sports...
  25. i would just like to say that all the so-called "evidence" that is presented here by Pwalla...wouldn't stand up in ANY court... he's got pictures of some singhs eating meat...ie...niddar isn't the only meat eater out there...akal takt says meat is okay...i am against this stand of akal takt...but if we have a problem with meat eating...we should go petition at akal takt...not go after niddar... he's got pictures of some singhs at a bar...i know singhs that go to a bar and don't do anyting wrong...they go to chill with their friends and will just drink a sprite or something... he got a picture of some singh dancing...now...this one is just PWALLA's personal or jatha belief that dancing is wrong... i saw he picture..i saw a big guy with a smile, busting out a dance move...i didn't see any bibiaan all up on him or anything...nothing dirty or wrong about that picture.. ALL we have been presented with is some pictures that can be interpreted in many ways, but are being given a set of conclusions from...doesn't make a very good case. NOW i'm not a niddar fan or anything...i'm just saying...that there are a lot of people that have their own opinions in sikhi..and i don't agree with the opinions of loads of people, including some of the so-called "panthic" jathebandis...but that doesn't mean i'm going to go around trying to spread hate against them...i just let them do what they want..and i do what i feel is right... UNLESS NIDDAR HAS ACTUALLY DONE SOMETHING WRONG...ie...violated someone's rights, criminal offences, seen commiting bujjar kurehit as defined by akal takt...then you really shouldn't be spreading hate and (mis)information about the guy... the problems you guys have with meat and alcohol...isn't something to complain or blame on NIDDAR ...cuz if you look at the SRM by akal takt...it says meat is okay, and it also doesn't list alcohola as a bujjar kurehit...it lists it somewhere else in the rehit..saying it isn't permitted..but not listed in the bujjar kurehit... i totally disagree with akal takt on this one..and i would happy to join any petition that would present a case to akal takt that meat should be included in the bujjar kurehit and ALCOHOL ..actually ALL drugs not taken for medicinal purposes should be included in bujjar kurehit... only then, if akal takt changes their written rehit, can you start doing parchar against niddar if he chooses not to accept akal takt hukam...
