  1. To the one who said that Ram Rahim is Government protected: The Sikhs are Guru Protected, who is stronger? The Guru or the Government?
  2. I thought the first quote of Gurbani that I mentioned explained that meat eating was ok"ਮਃ ੧ ॥ मः १ ॥ mehlaa 1. maas maas kar moorakh jhagrhay gi-aan Dhi-aan nahee jaanai. ka-un maas ka-un saag kahaavai kis meh paap samaanay. gaiNdaa maar hom jag kee-ay dayviti-aa kee baanay. maas chhod bais nak pakrheh raatee maanas khaanay. farh kar lokaaN no dikhlaavahi gi-aan Dhi-aan nahee soojhai. naanak anDhay si-o ki-aa kahee-ai kahai na kahi-aa boojhai. The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom. What is called meat, and what is called green vegetables? What leads to sin? It was the habit of the gods to kill the rhinoceros, and make a feast of the burnt offering. Those who renounce meat, and hold their noses when sitting near it, devour men at night. They practice hypocrisy, and make a show before other people, but they do not understand anything about meditation or spiritual wisdom. O Nanak, what can be said to the blind people? They cannot answer, or even understand what is said." Ang 1289 written by Guru Nanak Dev Ji(if you have any question Guru Nanak is higher than Kabir, though both are highly spiritual) we also have to understand that Kabir also said this"ਜੀਅ ਬਧਹੁ ਸੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਪਹੁ ਅਧਰਮੁ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਤ ਭਾਈ ॥ जीअ बधहु सु धरमु करि थापहु अधरमु कहहु कत भाई ॥ Jī▫a baḏẖahu so ḏẖaram kar thāpahu aḏẖram kahhu kaṯ bẖā▫ī. You kill living beings, and call it a righteous action. Tell me, brother, what would you call an unrighteous action? ਆਪਸ ਕਉ ਮੁਨਿਵਰ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਪਹੁ ਕਾ ਕਉ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਸਾਈ ॥੨॥ आपस कउ मुनिवर करि थापहु का कउ कहहु कसाई ॥२॥ Āpas ka▫o munivar kar thāpahu kā ka▫o kahhu kasā▫ī. ||2|| You call yourself the most excellent sage; then who would you call a butcher? ||2||" he would clearly be against all killing: which just isn't the Saint Siphai way of the Khalsa. Also before we can argue on meat we have to know what meat is? If you asked Guru Nanak himself, he would answer in a very different way than a low-person like me. If you showed the above quote to Guru Gobind Singh Ji about why the Sikhs have war, he would most likely call non-violence impractical (Kabir mentioned it as all killings), but understand we can also kill someone's heart or emotions or could destroy their reputation, so it goes soooooo much more than just not eating an animal, because plants have souls as well. We should have Daya for the animals and the plants,(not just animals), when someone goes to destroy Sikhi will you be saying"No, they were Vegeterian, they won't finish us"(you better believe that there are some Vegeterian organizations who wish that Sikhi would be finished tomorrow).
  3. only Guru Sahib can give liberation, and if the Guru(through Panj Pyare) say that you can't eat meat, there is the answer: if they say you can that's also the answer. ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਗਲੇ ਬਖਸਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ जीअ जंत सगले बखसिंद ॥१॥ Jī▫a janṯ sagle bakẖsinḏ. ||1|| He forgives all beings and creatures. ||1|| Ang 866 since you are pro-vegan I would like to say merly being a vegetarian can't save you from the paap. The Nkali Nirankaris and the Naamdharis are Vegeterian, but you know what they did. You should see the big picture, that Guru Sahib is not a set of rules, he is the Guru and as such shouldn't be treated as a rule (forgive me for the word I'm about to say, but it's the only way you'll understand) a rule "book"(I hope Guru Sahib could forgive me for using such a derogatory term, but that's how you viewed Guru Sahib). You know the Guru used to hunt, so what's next:"Killing is wrong it's wrong!""jee-a baDhahu so Dharam kar thaapahu aDhram kahhu kat bhaa-ee. aapas ka-o munivar kar thaapahu kaa ka-o kahhu kasaa-ee. (2) You kill living beings, and call it a righteous action. Tell me, brother, what would you call an unrighteous action? You call yourself the most excellent sage; then who would you call a butcher? (2)" ang 1103 You have to get to the point that the Khalsa is Sant Siphai and a Siphai has to kill at certain times.
  4. I respect your views, but instead of mercilessly beating him there are peaceful ways to do this: "do not pick-up the sword until all peaceful means have ended, then it is righteous to pick up the sword" Guru Sahib. They clearly didn't try peacefully first so therefore they shouldn't beat him up. Also they have their own religion, and didn't insult us for wearing turbans.
  5. "maas maas kar moorakh jhagrhay gi-aan Dhi-aan nahee jaanai. ka-un maas ka-un saag kahaavai kis meh paap samaanay.gaiNdaa maar hom jag kee-ay dayviti-aa kee baanay. maas chhod bais nak pakrheh raatee maanas khaanay. farh kar lokaaN no dikhlaavahi gi-aan Dhi-aan nahee soojhai. naanak anDhay si-o ki-aa kahee-ai kahai na kahi-aa boojhai. This to me says that meat-eating is ok, stop arguing on meat unless you know what meat is: only the Guru knows what meat is. http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Guru_Nanak_in_Kurukshetra according to this Sakhi Guru Nanak did cook meat; therefore, consuming meat is ok, and even if it wasn't from what I know this hasn't been agreed upon: are all Nihangs going to hell?
  6. Before we can become martial again(which we must) we must realize that we have to become Spiritual again. Sant Siphai first is Sant and every true Sant is a Siphai(all of them, Bachittar Singh looked like a weak guy, but still beat an elephant). If you don't believe in the Bachittar Singh story: Guru Gobind Singh Ji first asked a really bulk and muscular guy to take on the elephant and he said no; and later died by a snakebite. Bachittar Singh was a Sewadar and he decided that this was a mission to do Sewa. Another story is the Musket and Guru Gobind Sibgh Ji. http://www.sikhnet.com/stories/audio/guru-gobind-singh-and-new-musket
  7. Perfect answer, Amrit isn't free it originally came with the 5 heads of the Panj Pyare(I understand why Guru Gobind Singh wouldn't want to show 5 men without a head somehow resurrected, sometimes I find the Baba Deep Singh photo too hard to see), also Sikhi is the way that uplifted farmers and other "lower" people to come to their senses. Afghans are still a tough force and without Amrit you can't beat a group like them: even America and Russia failed.
  8. that's not what happened, he didn't go to a Gurdwara, even if he wasn't being Nanga there is probably more people naked, India has the highest Prostitution in the world, not in Asia but in the world.
  9. I truly hope you get him back, most likely I think you should put the "lost and return" papers so hopefully you may find Kaka easily, you just can do Ardas now because if you try finding it yourself you'll most likely be lost. I'll do Ardas for you.
  10. Personally I would bring up Sikhi to them; however, if they decide this isn't the path for them then I can't do anything about it: only Guru Sahib knows his Sikhs, I would keep their Kesh unless they say they want to cut them because ultimately it's their choice. I would try my best to bring them to Sikhi.
  11. My family became Sikhs just before the Partition and they were heavily influenced by the fact that Bhai Randhir Singh Ji had such powerful kirtan(which sadly I've never heard) and they really wanted to live a similar lifestyle to Randhir Singh's and live the way the Gurus wanted people to live(my family never officially considered themselves as Akj) also on another side of my family they were influenced by some Brahigyani(arround the same time) and were inspired to take Amrit. So really my ancestors of Sikhi was not that far away, luckily they choose Sikhi so I wouldn't have to search as hard to find the truth.
  12. Shiny weapons, funny. I would more likely call Shastars as that thing that protectors others, and if someone is in America they probably won't just become a Sikh to look different: especially in America, it makes a lot of things hard; it can also make it easy, really depends.
  13. Very True, the problem isn't really in Sikhs(in my view a Sikh is someone who takes Amrit), the problem is Punjabi culture and even the by-products of waxing because it is wrong and this issue will remain until people realize a Sikh isn't by birth it's by actions and deeds.
  14. I'm just really sad, that people take our Kesh and Dastars as just a piece of fabric or fashion item. Is our Guru's identity so low, that we have to truly ask this question: "Do I look good to girls?" Does anyone know about that Hari Singh Nalwa, when a Muslim lady(beautiful for times at the time) asked "will you bear my children?" Hari Singh Nalwa responded,"I can not have your kids; however, if you wish I can be your child." Now that Islamic lady was surprised. Gurcharan Singh Manochal is known for considering all women as his sisters, even protecting them from a young age. Please think of these high moral Singhs, you represent them when your with a Turban.
  15. Why does everyone always assume the Non-Sikh will convert? It's not even a healthy idea to share to the kids, also are the converting so they can lust you or because they truly love the Guru? A few generations ago, the same happened to my physical ancestors: they mostly converting to Sikhi out of some false idea of romance( this was before the partition so romance hadn't yet been popular). If they truly believe Sikhi is the better religion than by all means go ahead and join it, but Guru Sahib knows whether its just a show or if it is sincere. More to focus on the showing off part, some people previously took amrit just so they could join the Misls: not because they love Guru Sahib or because they felt the spiritual need for. Personally, I'd say the more Sikhs the better, but are the Gur-Ka Sikhs or Man-Ka Sikhs. They could still have a secular wedding, (which I believe is better than an Andaj Karaj with 2 people who pretend to be Sikhs, but don't follow any of the Gurus teachings), its still considered a marriage in my eyes.
  16. I believe it was deleted because by sometime that Ravidadsaia communitty could somehow look it up and find this article and put their own Guru their honor.
  17. I agree we should have Daya for these animals, but we just can't give-up what we are used to our whole lives, I physically don't appreciate cotton clothes; instead of being an internet warrrior on a Sikh website(less than 1% of the world), how about you actually do something about it in the real world.
  18. this is cruel, I will admit to that, but how exactly will boycotting(Sikh population) actually affect the end of the torture of these animals?
  19. It really depends on why your going out, my recommendation would be: if this is just for you having fun, it's not the right ideal. Dating to find a real life partner would be more acceptable. It really depends on why your going out, my recommendation would be: if this is just for you having fun, it's not the right ideal. Dating to find a real life partner would be more acceptable.
  20. Could anyone please explain to me what Tantric Yoga is? The reason I asked on this Forum is because on the 3HO website I know there will be a biased. I wanted to know, why exactly do people do it? It looks disrespectful and bad from what I saw from Gursant Singh.
  21. The reason women can't do kirtan at Darbar Sahib is more of a societal role: in Harminder Sahib a Kirtani should be able to do it for months and years, (hence the title Hazoor Ragi), the society of Punjab is women stay home. The Punj Pyare Sewa is a debated one: 3HO and Akj both had female Punj Pyare. The last one is if you wish to carry Guru Mahraj on your head then you should wear a keski, same if your a man. Your entire basis of discrimination seems flawed. You should really see the rest of the world.
  22. these people have left Islam without a death penalty. You know some Muslims have also became Christians and Atheists right?
  23. https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/directory?direction=desc&sort=extinction_status here's a list of endangered species also 99% of species are extinct. So that leads only to the 1% we still know(what you can see physically alive), we were probably one of them before. http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Sikhism_%26_Astronautics evidence of life outside of earth according to Gurbani; and slowly science is discovering extraterrestrial life. You should go to Sikh Answers
  24. his name is Jugraj Singh, he's known for Basics Of Sikhi.
