Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. this is one of the worst topics for sikhs, as a family to start.... this is what divides us all......... just follow what you were tought...and then when you get to a certain point in life where you want to believe in soemthing else, then go ahead.... but dont make others believe in what you believe, just because you think (or know) that its correct... if you do 3 baaniaa in the morning instead of 5, then so be it... and if you do 5, then so be it...but let others choose their paths... if you eat meat and say its ok, then go ahead and eat it. if you dont eat it and say its wrong to eat, then dont eat. why start all of this between our sisters and brothers? we are a family...and we should stay that way by respecting each others choices...doesnt make you a bad person... dont tackle me now that i've posted this all up ...just my opinions... please forgive me if i have offended you. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. i dont think there is a maximum length of kirpan we can wear in Canada, as a whole...meaning i dont think that there is a specific law saying that you cant have a kirpan that is longer than "so-and-so" length. i believe that there is a certain size for school and in public areas, but not Canada, as one place though... and no, we're not allowed wearing it on the outside in public places, even though so many of us do lol but yeah...we must all FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS TOGETHER, AS SISTERS AND BROTHERS! and letting them see how cool we really are, instead of them thinking that we may (or use) our Sri Sahibs (kirpaans) as weapons...we're not like that..we just fight for justice! cuz WE ARE THE KHALSA! (and no, they shouldnt really be called sikhs...) but seriously, in my opinion we should look at people's personalities first and then deciede if we should try to teach him/her/them. because once we know that the person is willing to listen and understand, then we can talk and no problem..at least they would listen! and if we know that a certain person wont listen no matter what...then why even bother??? we all read every day in Gurbaani: "Moorakh Naal Na Loojeeai" [(Loo-Ji-A) as in short a sound..like n cat..] and this line of Gurbaani basically is telling us not to watse our precious time on some moorakh, and instead spend that time on doing paat(h)...or talking to people you know who would care and listen, and understand, and appreciate, and even better: FOLLOW!... so if you know your breath is going to be wasted by talking to a moorakh, then dont even start...our breaths are really precious. the "moorakhs" will hopefully learn some day. now a different problem is when a "so-called sikh" starts to say wrong things about sikhism...like how we are actually allowed to cut hair, smoke, etc., as long as we believe in God... now thats just wrong...but again..just try sangat ji...it kind of works for me at my school...im the only sikh there and im a girl who wears a dastar...i get the rudest comments....and the stupidest questions asked on purpose by fools.. keep it cool everyone!
