I prefer to use cash where possible https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45483637 More than 250 free-to-use cash machines are disappearing a month as operators shut unprofitable ones, the network co-ordinator Link has said. There are 53,000 free machines in the UK - but the number is shrinking at a record rate as people use less cash.......... Link's ATM Footprint Report found that between the end of January and the start of July 2018, the number of free-to-use ATMs fell from 54,500 to 53,200.
  6. Are you trying to make us 'blend in' with the rest of the world?

  8. racism is present in all countries. In the UK it is minimal compared with most.
  9. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzi-OoKd2Z_RoU3GMEBBEDw Anyone know the bhai sahibs/bibian who produce these videos? Have seen some of the videos, and they are quite good
  10. Bumping this thread as looking for books to read - in paper not soft form
  11. Don't worry, Khalsa will rise when the time comes. Islam and Christianity might boast numbers but their quality is not high. Why does Sikhism need to be spread by sword? We only take weapons when it is right/just. If we spread by the sword, we would have a lot of poor quality adherents.
  12. New Prime Minister of Pakistan. What does this mean for Pakistan? India? And will it have any direct/indirect impact for Sikhs?
  13. Look at the heath section of this site, you will easily find at least 1-2 threads there to help you to start with
  14. Should this section of the site be merged with ‘What’s Happening’ ? Since hardly any topics there gets good responses and also maybe half of threads on the whole should be there really.
  15. What is his 'endgame'? Populist politics to attract right-wing votes? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-45096519 Boris Johnson has stood by his remarks about the burka after the Conservative Party chairman told him to apologise. The former foreign secretary has been criticised for saying Muslim women wearing burkas "look like letter boxes" and comparing them to "bank robbers". PM Theresa May has backed calls for Mr Johnson to apologise, saying the remarks have "clearly caused offence". But a source close to Mr Johnson said he "won't be apologising", adding it was "ridiculous" to attack his views. "We must not fall into the trap of shutting down the debate on difficult issues," the source added. "We have to call it out. If we fail to speak up for liberal values then we are simply yielding ground to reactionaries and extremists." Johnson burka 'letter box' jibe sparks anger What's the difference between a hijab, niqab and burka? Mr Johnson's remarks, in a Daily Telegraph article, have provoked criticism from Muslim groups, some Tory MPs and opposition parties. In the article, Mr Johnson said full-face veils should not be banned but looked "ridiculous".
  16. Really? I think number of converts is v low
  17. Is it Sikhs or is it Punjabi or even North Indian/Pakistani culture? I think a lot of Punjabi Pakistanis also do not like to see others within their own community succeed.
  18. You've missed out a lot of countries. I am assuming these are only the countries you've visited/lived in? Why is Iran garbage? I have not visited most of these places, but I think you are making too many judgements about places you do not know much about
  19. Moving the thread back onto the topic, can anyone add to their observations from travelling/living different countries where Sikhs are or are not recognised?! my cousins (male and a female) went together on holiday to Egypt a few years ago. Both wear dastar and people there were really respecting them but my cousins think the Egyptians thought they are Muslims
  20. Maybe in the other places Sikhs are not visible but they are known. Have you been called insults in any of those places.
  21. I sense the OP is a troll.
