  2. Moving the thread back onto the topic, can anyone add to their observations from travelling/living different countries where Sikhs are or are not recognised?! my cousins (male and a female) went together on holiday to Egypt a few years ago. Both wear dastar and people there were really respecting them but my cousins think the Egyptians thought they are Muslims
  3. Maybe in the other places Sikhs are not visible but they are known. Have you been called insults in any of those places.

    Pcos and hiritism

I sense the OP is a troll.
  5. I understand what you say, but you are confusing some towns with counties. in response to you and even my own question, a lot of who knows Sikhs depends on education and wealth. Yes, where there are Sikhs in cities most people know them, but in affluent areas, e.g parts of some of the places you’ve mentioned I think most people will know Sikhs.

Which vitamins do you recommend? I.e. which ones, apart from the obvious Vitamin D would you say most of us need to take?
  13. I've been busy, but done a quick google search which shows (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_crime_in_the_United_Kingdom#Race_and_crime_in_London): Figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that in 2007 an estimated 10.6 percent of London's population of 7,556,900 were black.[25] Evidence shows that the black population in London boroughs increases with the level of deprivation, and that the level of crime also increases with deprivation, such that "It is clear that ethnicity, deprivation, victimisation and offending are closely and intricately inter-related".[26] In June 2010, through a Freedom of Information Act request, The Sunday Telegraph obtained statistics on accusations of crime broken down by race from the Metropolitan Police Service.[n 2] The figures showed that the majority of males who were accused of violent crimes in 2009–10 were black. Of the recorded 18,091 such accusations against males, 54 percent accused of street crimes were black; for robbery, 59 percent; and for gun crimes, 67 percent.[27] Robbery, drug use, and gang violence have been associated with black people since the 1960s.[28] In the 1980s and 1990s, the police associated robbery with black people. In 1995, the Metropolitan Police commissioner Paul Condon said that the majority of robberies in London were committed by black people.[29] Street crimes include muggings, assault with intent to rob, and snatching property. Black males accounted for 29 percent of the male victims of gun crime and 24 percent of the male victims of knife crime.[27] On sex offences, black men made up 32 per cent of male suspects. Similar statistics were recorded for females. On knife crime, 45 percent of suspected female perpetrators were black; for gun crime, 58 percent; and for robberies, 52 percent.[30]
  14. Hopefully a good thing, but if difficult times are ahead with racism etc, will make it easier for Sikhs to be singled out from other South Asians. So, I am slightly sceptical

  19. Sau Sakhi, I guess: "Sikh Predictions" is an enchanting book of prophecies made hundreds of years ago to predict the forthcoming events that are going to take place in AD 1999 and after throughout the world. Wherever Guru Nanak went during his Missionary journeys, all those areas will form part of the Khalsa Kingdom. The Khalsa is going to rule for several centuries and all the blessed Sikhs and saints have already taken birth for this. For the Sikhs the interest is in the religious background, but for the others, it revolves around its historic significance and resemblance with other world-predictions.
  20. Yes, true. Btw, were Jews also supportive of each other so much, or did the difficult times of the world wars bind them closer together

  22. The referee/// spoiled the World Cup Final today. How that was given as a penalty, I cannot understand. It ruined the dynamics of the game, and basically made Croatia more of underdog than when the match started.
  23. Where have you been? i am enjoying your posts, but fully disagree that we should name children after Gurus/their close family. But reasonable to name kids after Shaheeds

    Reincarnation books

Can anyone recommend good books that tell of people's experiences with Reincarnation. Like how their actions in one life led to consequences/situations in another life.
