  2. in your opinion or from what you’ve read , @MisterrSingh What percentage of the population will the wolves form when the Tiger attacks them? what happens on a worldwide scale in the current ‘home ‘ countries of the ‘wolves’ , when this kicks off in the UK as you have described? and the ones like us who are neither the wolves or the Tiger , are we hens or do we also get caught by the Tiger (or both)?! @GurjantGnostic ?
  3. No one in my close family I’m aware of, first learned about it from white friend at Uni and TV In Indian culture, I’m sure it is considered very ‘unclean’ and disrespectful to the books. Newspapers and magazine might be a different matter…
  4. “Shud nihangs control our gurdwaras in villages and cities?” They know how to fight so I think they should be given a chance to improve security of Gurdwaras and stop ‘beadbi’ incidents
  5. In the context of UK, is the ‘tiger’ likely to be a supporter of 3 lions ? EDIT: @MisterrSinghwhat I should have said , the ‘Tiger’ isn the angry and oppressed indigenous?
  6. @shastarSingh what you think ? I thought only BJP party already have Amit Shah planned as their next Prime Minister ? https://hwnews.in/amp/national/if-not-sikh-then-next-pm-will-be-maratha-former-raw-chief-1350105 "If Not Sikh, Then Next PM Will Be Maratha": Former RAW Chief "The work of Saint Namdev Maharaj is universal," AS Dulat said. By - Tejas Joshi Update: 2022-04-08 10:28 GMT The next Prime Minister of India will be a Sikh. If a Sikh does not become the Prime Minister, then a Maratha will definitely become the Prime Minister of the country, said Amarjit Singh Dulat, the former head of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He made the statement while receiving the Sant Namdev National Award. The Sant Namdev Award Ceremony by Sarhad Institute, Pune was held at the Constitution Club, Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Dulat predicted that the next Prime Minister of the country would be a Maratha.
  7. As ‘clever’ (cunning) as many Indians are, they seem to be very easily brainwashed. They believe any <banned word filter activated> the media tells them And going back to the first post by @shastarSingh, English culture and school system actually encourages individuality and ‘being different’ and producing leaders (especially in private school system)
  8. jsonline.com/amp/9526696002 The largest Sikh book collection in Wisconsin, and possibly the nation, now resides in Oak Creek View | 9 Photos Photos: Sikh Book Collection JORDYN NOENNIG | MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL | 11 hours ago A collection of books about the Sikh faith and traditions is now available at the Oak Creek Public Library in a first-of-its-kind collection. About 120 books, movies and other items available for checkout are on display in Oak Creek, making the largest collection in the state, and possibly the country. "We did some research and we couldn't find any other library that has aggregated items on display like this," said Jill Lininger, director of Oak Creek Public Library. The goal is to help others in Southeastern Wisconsin, and across the state, learn more about the Sikh religion, the 5th largest religion in the world. The collection was made available to the state's Department of Public Instruction and will be used to inform public school curriculum as well. "I want to encourage people to learn about Sikh communities and our beliefs," said Gurjot Singh Ghotra, a student at Franklin High School who spoke at Saturday's unveiling of the collection. "At school many of my peers ask why I wear a turban. They ask out of curiosity, and I appreciate that. Now I can let them know they can understand it at a much deeper level by reading about it here, at the library in Oak Creek." Manjit Singh, left, and Balhair S. Dulai chat prior to the speaker remarks about Sikh Temple of Wisconsin and the Oak Creek Public Library hosting an open house to share a new Sikh Book Collection available to the public. 9. @shastarSingh were you a fan of Imran Khan in cricket ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-61055210.amp Imran Khan ousted as Pakistan's PM after key vote 9 April 2022 Updated 5 hours ago Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has been ousted from power after losing a no-confidence vote in his leadership. The vote was held past midnight after opposition parties brought a motion against him, following days of drama. The motion was first brought against Mr Khan last week, but he blocked it by dissolving parliament. Sunday's vote took place after the country's Supreme Court ruled in favour of opposition parties and said that Mr Khan had acted unconstitutionally. Mr Khan is now the first Pakistani prime minister to be ousted by a no-confidence vote. Pakistan's parliament will meet to vote for the country's new leader on Monday. That person will be able to hold power until October 2023, when the next election is due to be held.
  10. Is it a good book @shastarSingh Ji? I know you are a cricket fan. I agree a lot with the quotes. I find Indians to be ‘know-all’s’ - the elder generations always try to impose their thinking and decision-making on the younger ones. So there are a lot of leaders, but at an older age. And these elders can be very egotistical. i don’t know if I agree with the reason that Indians prefer to keep low profile is to do with the British - I think it’s just Indian culture to try not to ‘stand out’ and ‘cause trouble’
  11. A good man inherently (like most people are) but has been corrupted by his environment and those around him interesting that he is Winchester and Oxford-educated and in politics and didn’t marry a white lady as would have been more typical. I think the news about the tax avoidance etc is to smear him for any attempt he has to become Tory Party leader, as he is seen as one of the ‘favorites’. Tax avoidance is nothing new or uncommon with rich people and politicians. he is following the ‘party line’ wrt to voting on certain issues no idea if he would gone into politics if he was not married into the family he is married into
  12. Another incident anyone know more about this incident in West Midlands? thoughts please @chatanga1 @dallysingh101 @proactive and others…
  13. Interesting Thread bump @shastarSinghJi, what are your thoughts ?

  15. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/black-country/birmingham-2022-under-fire-sikh-23625578 Birmingham 2022 under fire from Sikh faith leaders in latest diversity row The organisers of the Commonwealth Games say they are hosting community events, roadshows and forums around the city and region as they try to ensure nobody is left out of opportunities 18COMMENTS By Jane HaynesPolitics & People Editor 17:26, 7 APR 2022 UPDATED18:41, 7 APR 2022 Sikh faith leaders are to meet with the bosses of Birmingham 2022 after criticising them for 'ignoring and bypassing' their community. The comments are made in an open letter issued by the Sikh Community Forum, that represents Sikh Gurdwaras across Birmingham. The Games organising committee's chief executive Ian Reid and chairman John Crabtree are to meet the Forum to discuss their concerns. In a hard hitting and emotional letter - the most recent to land in the in-tray of Birmingham 2022 leaders about diversity and inclusion - the Forum says those who are part of th eSikh diaspora feel they have been overlooked. They say they had looked forward to the Games in their home region as a way to celebrate the Sikh athletes, coaches and officials throughout the Commonwealth, including England. "This was an opportunity for us to connect with family, friends, and Sikhs yet unknown to us, in providing hospitality and promoting Birmingham, Smethwick, West Bromwich, Coventry, Walsall, Wolverhampton and Dudley." "However, yet again, we have been ignored and bypassed, and not for the first time. Just like when we were air-brushed out of “British” history for many decades in the annual remembrance services, despite laying down our lives for the British Empire, both in the first and second World Wars, despite our pivotal contribution." The letter, penned by Cllr Gurdial Singh Atwal, on behalf of the forum, also criticised the Games for using an image of Sikhism (a boy in a turban) "to fulfil the diversity quota in promoting the notion of inclusivity." "Since the Games arrived, we have had little or no contact from the Games Organising Committee, we are literally missing from the Games Cultural programme, just like other South Asian communities like the Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities." They add that feedback given to the Games' equality, diversity and inclusion forum showed Sikh gurdwaras had been largely overlooked, and that plans for faith hubs for visitors, trailed by the Games, had not been a topic of conversation with gurdwaras.
  16. Why don't they tell them to give up Tobacco ? Most people I think are aware of the need to protect environment, but moving away from living 'modern' life is quite a big commitment for most people. I agree with what you said somewhere about plastic. I think natural disasters will be Nature's way of protesting (as I have heard in Katha) @shastarSingh Panjabis are terrible from what I have seen with regards to overusing cars. My uncle in Jalandhar would not walk 10 minutes from his house to his workplace because walking is not seen as something 'wealthy' people do in the city ? And the area was reasonable/not dirty I think 'Dharmis' in India are exactly the same if not worse, if they are maya/business-minded Does anyone else think that the pressure from Western countries towards India and China to reduce pollution is hypocritical and with an agenda to stop India and China's economic progress ?
  17. Their culture is mainly Islamic
  18. The racist killing of Altab Ali 40 years ago today Hammer attacks, punctured lungs, slashed faces... far-right groups inflicted a decade of violence on East London’s Bengali communities. In the deadly year of 1978 Bengali youth began the fightback.
