nice video about Guru ji's teer.

However, I really recommend the sikh sangat should be learning archery. I need to find a place to start learning archery again since I used to before the pandemic.

I guess they will do more exposure for our community as opposed to the deep spiritual parchar which is required to capture peoples' hearts and minds.

It's starting to get on my nerves in a major way. I can more often than not detect when I'm being lied to, and "they're" starting to push their luck because there's no pushback from the public. Corona is clearly something that exists, but this desperate desire to get this vaccine into our bodies is sus. They're using every tactic from the propaganda playbook.

I'm not sure whether it's the vaccine that's suss or whether it's all the other legislation that means everyone is controlled by the State that is more concerning

No idea what you are saying.

Do you mean to say that Indian Punjabi Sikhs are so rubbish at parchaar ?

That Pakistanis are more 'zealous' about their beliefs ?

Windsor Castle intruder: Priti Patel orders review of crossbow laws as 19-year-old man remains in custody

Crossbows are legal in the UK and no licence or registration is required to own them at present as they are not legally classed as firearms – but people can be prosecuted for using them for illegal hunting or for attacking people

Priti Patel has ordered a review into crossbow laws after a 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly carrying one in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Christmas Day.

The Home Secretary has instructed her department to look into ways to “strengthen controls” on the weapons.

At present, crossbows are legal in the UK and no licence or registration is required to own them as they are not legally classed as firearms.

I hv contact with sikhs from various different organizations.

There is so much distrust and dislike for each other between them, I won't be surprised if they physically attack each other especially if there is some anarchy or disorder in India.

Ideally if there is anarchy in India, Sikhs shud get together and form a sikh state. That's why efforts shud be made NOW to get unity between sikh organizations.

  7. 2022 is coming to a close.

New Year starts in a few days.

Does anyone have any thoughts about what will happen around the world next year? It can be serious or sarcastic, minor or major, but more specific the better please. And you can write your 'hopes' as well (of course, everything is in Maharaaj's Hukam). You can predict any deaths as well ?!

Off hand, I don't know much of any scheduled events in politics or culture, other than Indian national elections. I have no idea what will happen in Panjab, but seems BJP are strong nationally

In football/soccer, it's the World Cup, which I will follow with interest. I will tip Argentina or Brasil to win that one.

Maybe Boris Johnson in the UK will resign as PM given he is under increasing pressure

Will Joe Biden's health allow him to complete the following year as President - maybe not?

Hoping Jagtar Singh Johal and other freedom fighters are released from prison

Something very interesting I have observed on youtube.

For several years, you may have seen reaction videos. There are reaction videos for everything: music, tv shows, comedy etc

However, the interesting thing I noticed is the number of Pakistani reaction videos to Bani and Kirtan. I think what has happened with the advent of the internet, coupled with the yatras of gurdwarae of Pakistan and made the local Pakistani populace quite curious to Sikhi.

I know on other threads we have spoken about Haryanvis coming to Sikhi but I think (could be wrong though) you could "potentially" see an explosion (pardon the pun) of Sikhi breaking out in Pakistan.

    Million tax evasion

"Batman" sentenced to more than three years in prison

It was about sales tax fraud on a grand scale: The Briton Peter Virdee Singh, known as "Batman", has been sentenced to imprisonment according to SPIEGEL information. His confession was taken into account.
    December 23, 2021, 9.43 p.m.

He is considered a key figure in the case of a so-called sales tax carousel that cost the German tax authorities almost 125 million euros: The British Peter Virdee Singh, known as "Batman", has been imprisoned for three years and three months in six cases by the Frankfurt am Main regional court for serious tax evasion To be sentenced. The attorney general there confirmed to SPIEGEL on request.

The judgment was issued on December 16 - without the public having been informed. In the sentence, among other things, Singh's confession and voluntary "reparation payments" of the convicted person in the amount of 3.9 million euros played a role, it said. According to SPIEGEL information, Singh is currently back in Great Britain before he has to start his prison sentence. The United Kingdom transferred him to Germany a week before the verdict was to be pronounced. Officials from the Department for Serious and Organized Crime of the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) accompanied him at the time. At times, Singh was one of the most wanted men in Europe.

The fraud model of Singh and his accomplices was based on the trading of emission certificates , as the public prosecutor's office, tax investigators and the BKA reconstructed in years of investigative work: A group of business people imported CO 2 certificates tax-free from an EU country to Germany , smuggled them through numerous bogus companies and carried it out again through Deutsche Bank . The trick was to get 19 percent sales tax reimbursed by the tax authorities on export, which in truth was never paid. Several members of the gang had already been sentenced to imprisonment for this.

Singh himself had long portrayed himself as a righteous, successful businessman. There are pictures of him shaking hands with Queen Elizabeth II or showing himself with pop star Rihanna .

  10. This story seems 'off' to me

Didn't Shaheed Udham Singh avenge Jallianwala Bagh Massacre ?

Timing - close to what has happened with the beadbi attempt at Harmandir Sahib - could be GOI behind this

Also, the clause 9 Nationality And Borders Bill proposed - the protaganist in this event would be an ideal candidate and another reason/example for the govt to use to put this bill

For me, it doesn't add up.

A woman said she has been forced to live in a hotel with her baby after a predator crept into her home and violated her 'safe haven.'

Mahmun Ahmed, 33, was handed an extended prison sentence after Judge Graham Knowles QC said he posed a serious risk to lone women.

His victim, who can not be identified for legal reasons, was asleep in her flat in Lancaster when Ahmed climbed in through the living room window and got into bed with her.

At first she thought it was her former partner but when she turned on the bedroom light she found a complete stranger had been cuddling and kissing her.

Judge Knowles said Ahmed was driven by 'entrenched attitudes to relationships' and feeling 'entitled to sexual fulfilment.'

Speaking about the impact of the offence, which took place in the early hours of October 21 2021, the woman said: "As a young single parent I had little money although I was able to work hard and save for this flat.

"It is a place I enjoyed spending time and making memories. I loved watching my baby growing up, learning to crawl.

"This flat was my home, my safe haven, my own and my life. This has all been turned on its head by this one incident.

"I was asleep in my own bed, no more than an arm's length away from where my child was asleep.

"I was at my most vulnerable - I wasn't able to protect myself and I wasn't able to protect my child. Then waking up to find a man, a stranger, lying next to me in my own bed, kissing me, touching me, putting his tongue in my mouth in my house, my safe space....

"All this has left me feeling dirty and unclean, inside and out.

"I constantly feel sick thinking about the situation. I don't fully know what happened before I woke up. Did the man only lie next to me? Did he touch me anywhere else? I don;t know what may have happened if I hadn't woken up.

"Would he have gone further? Would he have raped me? Would he have hurt my baby?

"I also don't know if this man was clean or if he had a disease. Did he have covid?

"I have had to move out of my home as I no longer feel safe in my flat, the flat I have worked so hard to make my home. Everything about the flat brings back memories, distressing memories, that make me feel unsafe.

"The council have so far only been able to move me into a hotel in a different town, isolated from all my support.

"At night I sit in the hotel after I have put the baby to bed and sit in silence, zoning out and feeling numb. I am haunted by the 'what ifs?'

"I have realised I have been drinking most nights. This is to try and help me sleep, to dull the feelings and thoughts. When I do go to bed I lie there awake for hours.

"Guests in the hotel walk down the hall - every bang, crack, any noise makes me jump. I have been prescribed sleeping tablets but I am afraid to take them because I want to be able to wake up.

"One of the things that keeps me going is my baby.

"It stirs emotion I never thought I would feel. I hate feeling that way but I can't help it.

"I break down and cry constantly, for no apparent reason.

"My hair has started to fall out and my gums and mouth bleed. I put this down to the stress this situation has triggered.

"I have been diagnosed with depression and have been referred for counselling. I find myself asking, 'why me?' I did nothing to deserve this.

"This man has taken away my trust in humanity."

You are right, the family is Arya Samaji but they did not convert to Arya Samaj from Sikhi, they were never Sikhs. They belong to Sahnewal which is in eastern Ludhiana district. Ludhiana is a curious area where the Jats of the western areas of the district (Jagraon -Raikot) became Sikh at the time of Guru Hargobind and later Guru Gobind Singh and the majority of Jats in the eastern areas remained worshippers of Sakhi Sarwar and Jathera well into the late 19th century. The became Sikh during the Singh Sabha movement. The Arya Samaj which although it was a mainly urban movement but there were some rural areas of Punjab where they gained a foothold as well. One of these areas were eastern Ludhiana especially the villages close to Ludhiana city of which Sahnewal was one. A few Jat families of this area went from Jathera worship to Arya Samaj rather than to Sikhi. Sunny Deol's family was one of them.

Very interesting post, I have family from near Sahnewal. Never heard Arya Samaaj talk from them. How did you learn all this ?

Dalleya, while some Pakis do lie about it, there are genuine cases of Pak Muslims having Sikh ancestry. Just look at the poet Afzal Ahsan Randhawa who was a descendant of Baba Buddha Ji.

Others than that, while grooming and other activities to subjugate Kaafir women are acceptable in Islam, the biggest issue in the UK is because these groomers are from Mirpuri backgrounds. Mirpuris are generally more inclined towards crime than Pak Punjabis. Just compare Pakis in the US (primarily Punjabis) and Pakis in the UK (primarily Mirpuris) and you will see the difference.

@dallysingh101has done more than anyone else on this site on raising awareness of these 'wrong uns' . He might be older than all of us, but life experience is the best teacher and he's put more doubts in my mind (in a good way) about being too trustful of anyone, and to be more street smart. I think as ones gets older, you become more cynical and less trusting.

@SikhKoshI reckon you are in your 20's still ? You seem too trusting.

Yes, those Pakistanis who have same gotra like Sikhs (most common ones seem to be Bajwa, Waraich, Cheema, Bhatti) probably are 'softer' than some. And it would be good to find common ground with the more secular Panjabis as they could help us with more access. And these ones are from around Lahore , Faislabad, Sialkot, Nankana Sahib.

But, push comes to shove, they will put Islam first before Punjabiyat. And even if some of these are true 'liberal/SJW' types, they won't last long before something happens to them from their other 'brothers'.

Also, true that most of the groomers in UK seem Mirpuris. But, I reckon more than you would think are actually 'Punjabi' as well - at least, from the areas around Rawalpindi and Gujar Khan who seem to be quite similar to Mirpuris given the geographical proximity.

There's some confusion about the tweet. I doubt she tweeted it and it looks like it was doctored by some bandar in India. The outrage is only in the Indian press and given how much BS passes for news in India is it not surprising that their newspapers have accepted it as a real tweet.

Looking at it now and given the context of her being a MP, I think she would be careful to let any emotions get better of her and think before she speaks. So, I agree, likely a fake

    Hi Everyone

I just want to let everyone know that Jamie has decided to come home since he is homesick and will be back in Canada in July. Anyway Jamie told me of a very unusual encounter last weekend when he was visiting City Square Mall in Jammu; he met a group of 8 Sikh teenage boys hanging out at fastfood restaurant and one of them was a gora who was wearing a patka like the other 7 teens. That gora teen who Jamie told me was named Bhavjeet Singh told Jamie that he came to India with his younger 3 year old half brother when he was 10 years old after his mother and stepfather who was of Punjabi Sikh background died in a car accident. Apparently, Bhavjeet's Stepfather's brother got custody of Bhavjeet's younger half-brother and Bhavjeet Singh himself because there were no-one on his mother's side of the family who could take him in and Bhavjeet Singh never knew his biological father as he was the product of a one night stand. Anyway to cut this story short, Jamie told me that Bhavjeet Singh told him that the events that led him to becoming a Sikh started when after a fight with his Stepfather's brother's 10 year old son, he quietly walked into the boy's bedroom with scissors that while he was sleeping and started cutting the boy's kesh. Apparently after cutting a few hairs the boy woke up and screamed which caused his father and mother to burst into the room. Bhavjeet Singh stated that his Stepfather's brother told him because of his actions his son will have to be baptised again and as punishment for cutting his son's hair, Bhavjeet will be baptised with his son. Jamie told me he asked Bhavjeet if he liked being a Sikh and the was "Yes". Bhavheet told Jamie that he loves being a Sikh and is very comfortable wearing his long hair tied in a patka.

I do not agree completely on the Pak Muslim angle. While we have to be aware of the Pak Muslims and the agenda of ISI (them utilizing Sikhs against India), these renewed relations can be used by visionary Sikh leaders for many purposes (many of which should not be discussed on public forums). This is a tricky one, needs a different approach than the renewed Sikh-Jaat relations but can yield positive results if done properly:

    - Rebuilding other Gurdwaras, historical places related to Sikhs, recovering Gurdwaras that were converted into schools and so on, organising exhibitions and increasing awareness of Sikh rule and Sikh past of Pakistan for the general population (this is being acknowledged by Pak Muslims much more than before - there are restaurants with Sikh historical paintings in Lahore and so on).

    - increase of parchar among non Muslim Pakistanis (Hindus and Christians) with state 'approval'

    - Focusing on Pakistani (Muslim) Juts and other common castes, not for conversion, but creation of cultural organisations (Unionist Mission, and so on) for exchanging ideas, and so on thus increasing their overall closeness to the Sikh cause. I have talked to many Pakistani Juts, many of whom have Sikh ancestry, and they have a soft corner for Sikhs being Juts and consider themselves different to other Pak Muslims.

    @SikhKosh

Where did you talk to these jats ?

How exactly do they consider themselves 'different' ?
