  1. Agree. But late 20s? A lot of these people are still not married by their 30s!
  2. Then why not punish him via the law courts ? Depriving someone of their liberty (i.e., putting him in prison) takes an extraordinary level of proof. On the other hand, merely depriving someone of the chance to acquire new victims (preventing him from having access to Gurdwara sangat) takes a much lesser level of proof. The latter has been done. The former can be as well, later.
  3. If you view the NKJ video that shows up in the links at the end of this video, you'll see women are sitting smiling and very pleased at the NKJ fellow. This includes women wearing dastars and ramals! What's the point of making an outward show of religiosity if you have no shardha for Maharaj? 1. He says "It hurts to think what our IQ level must be to accept the things in the Suraj Prakash. Ask a kid how it rains, he'll tell you about the water cycle." So he's against the entire Suraj Prakash? Might has well just write off all of Sikh history. Why does he even bother talking about "Guru Granth Sahib ji"? The only place where it's mentioned that Guru Gobind Singh ji gave Guruship to Guru Granth Sahib is Suraj Prakash! (Or other history granths.) 2. He says the Gurbani line that says "It rains when Parmeshar makes it rain", "parmesher" means nature. You should know that they don't actually believe that God exists, only Nature. So why even bother with Gurdwaras? Just attend rationalists society meetings. 3. He says "Kids are telling parents not to send money to Punjab to do paath, we'll do it ourselves." OK, that's fine. But the method of this group is to say a few good things, and then telling people that Guru Sahib were not manifestations of God.
  4. What did I just watch? This guy is unhinged. He says (in the Gurdwara) of Guru Nanak ji "kidnap kar ditte honge". Huh? "Honge"? Might have been? You might as well say "NKJ govt da agent honge". This is all just totally baseless speculation. You don't have a right to just make up total lies and present them as what "really happened". He says "do you get mithai from shops or trees?" (disrespecting the miracles of Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj). For people who don't understand why he was banned, it wasn't for one statement. It was for a whole method that these people continue to use: Just make up totally lies. When caught in one lie, move on to the next one. They are shameless. They are free to live their lives, just not as preachers in Gurdwaras.
  5. When's the last time Badal has spoken to a UK gurdwara? Exactly.
  6. This isn't exactly rash, this is at the tail end of a whole lot of stuff that these people have been doing. I agree that it would be good to have had a discussion, but do you know for sure there wasn't one? Who's laughing at Sikhs? Because they decided they want to enforce a certain standard for speaking in Gurdwaras? People respect strength. Everybody thinks he's a hero until the moment he finds that his entire kaum (nation) doesn't want anything to do with him. This is an entirely non-violent action. It's not like we killed him, like the penalty would be in Islam. Every group has the right to determine who is able to speak or not speak in their facilities. If he decides he wants to stick to his fairy tales, he can do so. It's all up to him. Also, it's entirely wrong to be saying such things (that Guru Nanak ji was kidnapped and murdered) without ANY backing whatsoever as if he's sharing "the real truth".
  7. If that's the case (that older=wiser), why are his followers upset that older and wiser Sikh brothers are shutting down this 24 year old (the NKJ baba)? Wow.
  8. Good point. I also wonder about some of these unfortunate events. It's like, how did these weirdos get unsupervised access alone with these minors? Also don't allow minors to have unsupervised time on the phone (don't give them personal phones that no one is allowed to look at). This is regardless of you're of the samprada, Nihang, Nirmala, AKJ, missionary, or other bent.
  9. Females love overtly gay men, my guess is that they feel drawn to the feminine energy. Yeah, I think you hit the nail on the head, bro. Not that I'm calling for gays to be strung up like the Muslims do. But I do recognize that any kaum needs masculine energy to survive, which the West is definitely lacking in the 21st century. So let's stay strong, in the way that Dasmesh Patshah wanted us to.
  10. There are already 1.3 BILLION people in India. You could fit another 10 million, and that's not even a 1% increase. I doubt there are 10 million Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, etc. in neighboring countries who want to flood into India.
  11. "associated with a veggie jathebandi"? You mean Guru Hargobind ji was a member of ... Nanaksar? Seriously, though, are you stating that someone forged a hukumnama?
  12. Well, some people may be doubting the Nihang Singhs. But that's not the same thing as sants telling people not to eat meat. The sants are not criticizing Nihang maryada. They are speaking to people living in cities who have no need to eat meat, and even if they did eat it, they'd be buying halal. They are certainly not going to be crying "Sat Sri Akal!" doing jhatka with a 3 ft kirpan! You do agree that Sikhs should not eat store-bought meat, right bro?
  13. This link says Indian nationals, but it doesn't say Sikhs, Punjabis or Afghans. Also Afghan would not be Indian nationals.
  14. I don't agree with this. Sometimes you need to post a link to Gurbani or a Gurbani resource. Or a YouTube link. And sometimes, when debating, people challenge other people to post a reference. So how would banning links work? You can post the most outrageous assertions, but when someone challenges you, you simply say "I'd post the proof, but links are banned"? Frustrating.
  15. I think it would be short-sighted to not appreciate the wider context, which is the entire political and economic environment we find ourselves in, in Punjab. The fact is that if a pro-Punjab government would ever be elected, it would be extremely difficult for it to accomplish its program. The very fact that Punjabis are fairly successful abroad and they do obtain degrees in all sorts of subjects seems to demonstrate that there's nothing inherent in us that holds us back, rather it's just the environment. So basically, we're in a vicious cycle: 1) we're uneducated, so we don't elect a pro-Punjab government 2) we need to elect a pro-Punjab government to allow for education and economic opportunities so that we can become educated. And by education I don't just mean "chemical engineering" or something. I also mean Sikh values and what we as a Panth should aspire to.
  16. Simple: There are Guru Granth Sahib ji sarups, too, which feature purported paintings of Guru ji. Does that mean that Guru Granth Sahib ji is fake, too? The bani is real (Aad or Dasam), the paintings are artists' conceptions.
  17. I totally understand preventing new fake users signing up and spamming the board with advertising links and such. It is puzzling and also frustrating why users with hundreds, some with thousands, of posts would need to be be similarly restricted. If they had been causing a problem, they would have been discovered years ago. The disabling of the "link" button is similarly problematic (for longtime users).
  18. You know, Jagsaw, underneath the tough exterior of bluster and boastfulness, there does seem to be a smidgen of concern in you for our Panth. But I have to say you'd get much farther without being so dismissive and and disdainful of every other member of the Panth except you.
  19. Can you provide the ang number and which shabad. No, bro, I can't. Because that is not from Gurbani, just as all the other sakhis are not. As I mentioned, that is from the Makke-Medine di Gosht (Discussion at Mecca and Medina). The discussion Guru ji had with the Muslims.
  20. ohh......I didn't not know that. LMAO whtv I will leave this topic up still. Ok. I don't know if you're actually a "kid" as in your username. But it is very encouraging that you are able to accept new information and adapt. Good on you.
  21. No, that's not "Guru ji" wearing a topi. That is a drawing that an artist created from his mind of someone in a certain form of dress who (in his mind) represents Guru ji. That doesn't mean that's Guru ji. It just means that's the artist's representation, nothing more.
  22. There are about 34,000 Muslim children in Birmingham, and a few thousand Sikh children.
  23. What you would normally suppose the meaning to be would be: People who vichar vidia (think over or study education) are parupkari (helpers of others). But, for whatever weird reason, Prof. Sahib Singh inverts the words and claims this as the meaning: People who become parupkari, think of them as having become a person who vichars vidia.
  24. Agree, and same here. Not only that, but with hundreds of posts (like you have), why should you have to be forced to undergo moderation. Especially if there's never been a problem before? Also, the "link" button has been disabled. I think it should be brought back at least for longtime users. The Admin is just making more work for himself by having to approve Every Single Link.
