Rule of thumb in my opinion about life is : Nothing has any meaning you give it meaning. Need is an illusion you are complete in yourself but not aware of it, We don't need anything outside of ourself to be complete. Its just an ego trip.

Just watched the movie. Quiet good, anyway message of Guru Nanak is very vast and the movie highlights a few important ones. Mardana role is very well played.

A recent bollywood art movie Qissa potrays a sikh family in a negative light on the same issues. Plot Umber Singh, a Sikh after being displaced by the partition of 1947, has three daughters. He migrates to Punjab, India. Yet when his fourth daughter is born, he raises her as a boy, Kanwar Singh, who in times becomes a truck driver. However, when Kanwar Singh married to a girl, Neeli, this gives birth to complications.

Yes Sikhs should always look at others to help them with their issues. Hindus and Punjab police for justice and White folks to help you with your issues. They have no interest in your causes or issues. Sikhs have been in USA for 100 years yet most don't know what a Sikh is.

I think his parents should home school him, like many white and other parents in USA who don't agree with the school system. Talking to teachers etc is a waste of time. If there is only one GOD in many manifestations (us). Then our will is is GOD's will. My personal opinion is that GOD provides full free will so we can choose to remove the veil of illusion (separation) when we get tired of our self made dramas.It may be foolish to pursue our EGO-mind -selfish agendas which keep us bound to the cycle of reincarnation. To accept whats showing up in the now is probably the best way to go. Since what we resist persists.

They must not frighten us, because they are signs of our progress on the spiritual plane. In fact, with more experience, these taps prove to be sources of great joy. After every tap, there rises a wave of mental peace; the nerves and brain cells thus assume their natural poise. When for the first time the late Sant Gurbakhsh Singh Ji, of Jabbowal (Amritsar), told me of this phenomenon, I was unable to make any comment. But when I had this experience myself and enjoyed it immensely, I recollected what he had said. He was a high-souled Mahatma and was leading a life of Simran and missionary work. I met him for the first time when I had just appeared for the B.A. examinations. He remarked, “Do not worry about examination results. You will get through. Go on with your Simran, and some day you will taste of its sweet fruit.”

Of couse nothing has any meaning you give it meaning. All so called truths at mind level are but subjectives truths . At the mental level objective truths do not exist. So in life it what works. What works is what experience you are trying to create. So in SIkhism you choose GOD over maya illusion via sense. Do Simran and go beyond the subjective senses. In other words blow your brain. Since to know GOD you have to be out of your mind.

Repetition with belief will lead to integration.

When you woke up this morning you decided to bath, brush etc you had a choice. Wearing what color turban white, black etc......... All choices are acts of self definition. You largely decide who you are based on the choices you make. Yes agreed most people are sleepwalking with instincts. Making a conscious choice of choosing Naam (Whaeguru) over Maya is a choice of individuals free will.

Every sub-reality is a created experience within the absolute reality (GOD). The biggest gift given by GOD is the free will which makes it possible for one to create any experiences as you wish in other words nothing has any meaning you give it meaning so give it a damn good one. All experiences One creates one experiences. If you create Atheism experience you experience a lot of separation or egoism. Now the reality of GOD is unity, oneness. Atheism is a created hell that one experience because of ones choice made possible by free will. The more you research on all spirituality you will be amazed at the simplicity of Sikhism. All sub-realities are illusions they do not change your true being.

Life's Problem is a typical Catch 22 .A catch-22 is a paradoxical situation from which an individual cannot escape because of contradictory rules.[1][2] Catch-22s often result from rules, regulations, or procedures that an individual is subject to but has no control over because to fight the rule is to accept it. Mind often plays the devils advocate telling one to accept other people opinion and one repeated thought playing over and over about how one is not enough. Now the real deal is that step back observe your mind YOU are not the mind. First observe the breath goes in and out. Then observe your thoughts do not respond to them, keep observing all the negative talk that your thoughts are telling yourself. My friend be an observer be aware do not respond or believe all the negative mind chatter. Do it few mintes a day morning evening. You will feel better. Also after a while via breath in and out say wahe while breathing in and guru while breathing out. Over time when mind goes into negative chatter it will go to simran. Keep praying to Guru Sahib for his kirpa to take you out of your situation. Also reach out to other people do seva in gurudwara or nursing home, shelters. Etc. Fastest way to release happiness in oneself is to make someone else happy. Smile look in mirror tell yourself you are a divine being having an human experience. Good luck

The witness is the EGO essentially,ones story that I am so and so, my parents, country, race etc. Samadhi the state of union with GOD is where the witness ego disappears into GOD(unity). As we are three separate entites in an illusion body, mind an soul. Sikhism stress on repetatition on GODs name to attain samadhi where the witness dissapears into the all.

Its not even written by their prophet and been edited multiple times by different writers according to their convinence. Lets not go there.

Sikhism is about your relationship with Guru and GOD. All are welcome to be SIkhs. I will not put weight in what ethnical punjabi Sikhs or any others opinion, they do not have a monopoly over who they let in.

Life is eternal nothing dies but changes form. There are no should and should nots. That is for an individual to decide. There are religion that say humans have dominion over the creatures that creep and the birds that soar and the fishes in the sea. Such is the level of their arrogance. They use this to justify their cruelty on other species.

Close examination will reveal that you and the rocks and the trees and other planets are made of the same stuff. We all look different, but we all have identical substance. When you discover your oneness you will see that when you have treated anyone or anything as though it was not you, you have hurt no one but yourself. Life expresses itself at many levels of consciousness or self awareness. The higher the level of consciousness, greater the degree of self determination, the greater the ability to choose and decide. Mind/personality are different but soul is same ONE SOUL.

The energy field that you call the light , or soul envelops a physical object. This light radiates into all physical objects, and thus create them. Its reverse of what popular belief about soul is that it is localized at some particular point the body. There is no place where your soul end and another begins. Its a universal soul GOD. Its like air in your house. In your home there are separate rooms yet there is only "one air". The air in kitchen has some food smell characteristics. That can be sensed in living room but its not separate air. So you soul does not live in your body its the other way around. Your body lives in a force field, its housed within this energy.

If GOD is your target then you can't miss since it is so big. The only thing is that you can use the short or the long path. GOD exist whether you believe in it or not. By Naam Simran you bring it to your awareness. You go for the source GOD who is all in all, the begining and the end, the first cause of all that happens. So Naam Simran is the supreme above all Karam Kands. You ultimately become what you worship i.e you realize that you as an entity never actually existed it was all an illusion.

At one point GOD created itself in many manifestations to experience itself from all the knowing. Knowing, a conceptual understanding of all that is, was not enough. It yearned to experience itself. Hence manifestation came forth with a free will to make it choose what part of itself it wants to experience. Because you can only fully be something after you experience physically. So you are small god creating an experience. In other words you are helping GOD be GOD. The planning is happening before you show up on this or any other plane for your, so real physical experience. The planning in the spiritual plane on where, how, when, parents, places and circumstances one will encounters that will lead you to your experience are preplanned, how you respond to them, is up to you via your free will. Soul yearns to experience all kind of emotions. As white light is not devoid of color but contains all color, so is love which contains all kinds of emotions not just love. For you to experience love one must know what love is not only then can you know what love is. In truth Love is all there is (GOD is Love in Truth, all else is an illusion). The urge to merge in the unity is the extreme experience yearning for soul which it is after, since we are a three part being, mind, body and soul . Mind more often goes on its own tangents creating experiences based on duality mostly ego and fear . Our body is a reflection of what our mind holds. Essentially we are all the same only with different level of awareness. An infant is no less perfect than a grown person. In an absolute, divine and godly way all things are everything. It’s only our mind, sense based subjective opinion which reinforces the illusion of need exist, superiority, insufficiency, judgment, condemnation, conditionality exist. The only difference is that there are those who remember their true self more or remember less. The souls who remember more (sages, prophets, gurus etc) volunteer to help those who remember less of their real self. The only worthwhile experience to create is within, If you do not go within you go without. Outside lies the illusion inside the real truth. If we remember all the parts of us rather than this manifestation, our experience will have no purpose, like a magician performing tricks for himself. So the built in Amnesia exist. In short it’s not what you are doing but what you are being your soul is after. Feeling is the language of soul. You could be doing anything but are you being selfish, arrogant , loving , compassionate …… is the aspect of you that you experience. In end LOVE is the ultimate reality. The feeling of LOVE is your experience of GOD. Anyway Give yourself time and be cautious about people advices.

Lets not make this a mystery. One engages in sex because its a natural thing to do. We all know it but keep denying. One obeys a biological imperative. The biological imperative is not to guarantee the survival of species, but to experience the oneness which is true nature of you being. Creating new life is what happens when oneness is achieved. As long its it is consensual, free will of individuals its no one else business. But its still an illusion the true relationship is within oneself which is to be sought after per Gurbani. Just my opinion
