  1. Gyan ratnavali actually has some interesting sakhis. There is one in which Guru Hargobind lists some qualities that a kathavaak has to have before he is entitled to do katha of Guru Granth Sahib, some of these being: - throgh knowledge in Gurbani - throgh knowledge on the languages in Gurbani - through knowledge in sikh history - through knowledge in other religions - a pleasant and nice personality - a good speecher who attracts his audience etc.

    Help Please

Make it comfortable for yourself .. Dont start with 5 prayers in the morning. that will be to overwhelming to begin with (believe me).. Start with some meditation and maybe the japji sahib (and read translations so you know what you're reciting. understanding is everything in sikhi) and add more as you progres along the years.. God bless u. People here seem to forget that there is a difference on being a Sikh, and being a Singh.
  6. Why do you advertise for his page? silence it to death
  7. What was wrong with the one made by the Udasi sikh? Were these the first commentaries on Sikh litterature or do we have other teekas from the 18th century?

    Bad Smell

Could you just stop farting in front of people?
  10. Looking at the proportions of how many threats there are in such a small document this seems out of context in a sikh document.
  11. This is said to be written in 1695 in the Christian calender which means its false since the Khalsa had not yet been manifested, nor was Guru Gobind Singh in abchal nagar at the time. The content with constant threats of hell also seems out of context in sikh teachings.
  12. Why would sikhs do anything? She is not an enemy of the sikhs like her mother in law was!
  13. "Forming our version of Mossad and hunting these rats down? " Yup
  14. Akaal Ustat was written in Paonta I think.
  15. In the Chaupa Singh rehitnama the following is written: He [Guru Gobind Singh at a young age] listened to other poetic works (apart from hanuman natak) and to katha which Devi Das delivered. During this same period he hunted and practised with dagger and sword. In S.1734 (1677) he composed the Jaap and Sri Akal Ustat. - verse 174
  16. If that is the case then we play the tapes 10 times more on Sikh TV!!!
  17. Waheguru.. Is it not the Singh who hosted the program on Nankana Sahib in Pakistan? If the Indian government is involved somehow the UK authorities is not going to do squat about it. Diplomatic immunity... I really hope the Sikhs in UK will take action to put pressure on the uk authorities and not let the murders be freed when the UK government releases the murders due to pressure from India!!!!!!
  18. That might be true. untill the partition of india-pakistan it was mainly muslims who performed Kirtan in the golden temple.
  19. Invite speakers such as Gurinder Singh Mann, Kamalroop Singh Nihang and others to give speaches and presentations that would be good
  20. Guru Gobind Singh created two wings of the Khalsa: The Shasterdhari khalsa and the Shaasterdhari Khalsa: Those who protect the religion by the sword, and those who protect the religion by the pen.
  21. Many instruments were created by the Gurus. The Taus, the swan like instrument, was created by Guru Hargobind Sahib ji
