  1. Is this the same Bill Gates that sent out millions of mutated mosquitoes in attempts to get rid off malaria.
  2. After we get through all of this, I wonder if a lot of businesses going to re-consider office space as for potentially several months a lot of their workforce can work from home.
  3. A lot of Mexican drug cartels regularly fly to India for some of their drugs processing.
  4. Punjab has quite a bit of variance. There probably will be some differences in temperament. No different from parts of the UK and there are going to be stereotypes. We think of scousers as car thieves and we think of people in East Anglia as inbreds. Because we don't live in Punjab, we don't know all the intricacies.
  5. It's just to make themselves feel better about themselves. I guess it is their accents. Here in the UK, some people find the Brummie accent quite grating and some people would think they are thick.
  6. Preeto in Jalandhar is just as feisty as Jeeto in Moga.
  7. In the temporal world, health comes before everything. Everything worldy hinges on this otherwise everything falls down like a pack of cards.
  8. Well Boris Johnson the UK Prime Minister is now in Intensive Care. This can affect anybody. Black people (particularly Afro-Caribbean )suffer from type2 diabetes and high blood pressure like our people do.
  9. Black and Minority Ethnic Groups disproportonately vulnerable : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8191443/amp/NHS-data-suggests-people-black-minority-backgrounds-vulnerable-coronavirus.html?__twitter_impression=true
  10. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.11.20031096v2 Interesting research on blood type groups and covid-19.
  11. What ticks me off about the situation at the moment is the western countries reluctance to look at what the Eastern countries who have had to deal with this virus. For example South Korea. They have had the various Coronavirus strains for the last couple of decades, so they have had experience dealing with by widespread wearing of masks, lots of testing etc. I know countries need to verify these kind of practices but if the US did these practices first, the UK will follow suit very quickly. But it is this arrogance of the west that somehow they know better.
  12. It would help to understand your dad better. You should ask your bhua.
  13. How did your baba treat your dad? The level of treatment by the older generation by their parents was far worse. They were beaten with belts, fists. Sometimes with past traumas, you can get triggered by certain things and the anger suddenly comes out. That is a big reason why alcohol is why prevalent in our community. A lot of middle aged punjabi men want to kill themselves. They can't just hang themselves, so they drink themselves to death.
  14. I know of somebody who is counsellor and they told me there is growing number of Punjabis having counselling. A lot of trauma there.
  15. The older Punjabis pick up traits from their parents. They were abused and they pass these down to their kids. They think this is the right way to be because they don't know any better. How many times in India do you hear a kid getting a slap or the cane when they are trying to learn at school or at home? You are taught to fear, scared to make mistakes. This will manifest itself in many ways.
  16. A lot of it is common sense and the author uses real life examples for each rule. He shows the coonotations of each rule. Examples of the rules are: Never outshine the master. Strike the shepherd and the sheep shall scatter. Conceal your intentions. Get others to do the work but get the credit. The book is not necessarily for to make you conniving but it gives you an idea how conniving people operate and the signs to watch out for.
  17. If there is a modern up to date version of this genre of book, I can recommend Robert Greene's "48 Laws of Power"
  18. If you are straight tree you get cut first. It means if you are straightforward you are an obvious target. If you are crooked, it means that you are more evasive and less likely to be manipulated. However, I have found that if you are too crooked, you are more prone to be manipulated because these types manipulate themselves.
  19. Women's intuition is more to do with subcommunication. Men have 17 times the amount of testosterone than women, so that women have higher sex drive is false.
  20. Look at the way Salman Khan is looking at him.
  21. Traveling around giving aid / langar to non-sikhs If non-Sikhs are going around serving food to homeless and vulnerable Sikhs, there are going to be Sikhs that are going to be compelled to do the same. Not having well armed sewadaar guards of Gurdwara's. May prove problematic as in theory, Gurdwaras are supposed to be open for all. That will be the argument against what you are proposing. Sikhs of sarbat da bhulla mindset. There needs to be a better more clear understanding as to what this entails. Not having our own sovereign state nation. To conduct our own economic, military, religious and political affairs This perhaps is the most important point. Inter-faith marriages and lack of promotion of inter-caste or inter-race Sikh marriages Will meet great resistance from certain quarters but this is changing. If you are having arranged marriage then what you are proposing won't happen. If you marry out out of your own choice there is more likelihood.
