Well said but i think there is a need for ladies to stand up and want to be counted, but as you say i feel society has taken that need and produuced something else entirly. In many ways a women is of higher importance than a man, but society and the norm for a lady is what the older generation was trying to surpress. nowerdays a women brings the family name down as much as man ... our orlder generation are wary of what the neighbours, the dhannas, the makans, the basi's the Sidus would say and would surpress the girl because she was seen as the vurnrable one but iss also a a women that can lift the family name bring them from the gutter and raise the families head. its happened in so many cases. its todays society and its norm factor. look what it has done to sikhi as a whole... i was in Punjabi in April and what i heard most from the older generation was that in the olden days the sikhi in Punjab was Phuki (strong) and our Gurdwaraee were Katche ( Weak and broken) but now our GUru Kar are strong but our sikhi is Katche. Society inforces the norm it there for incorporates the veiws of what is socially acceptable. these arte taught in schools and then we get a few that become fundemental

Singh may be the government could not do much ... depending on the veiw you take if they knew or not but whatthey could have done was say that it was wrong to attack .... the government could have approached indra and asked her why she did what she did what support does she have, why she needed to send in an army instead of police (make sure you stress that they had arrested sant ji 3 times before on fabricated charges and each time he had gone peacefully and been released without charge). if you put across that they did not know then you sshould also put across that there was a international cry from sikhs across the world but no country supported us in the time of need as we are a minority ... also remmember india has the largest land army in the world so they would not want to do something any way .... also the Nov Genocide was an organised thing and again a national and international cry but no help ... did they still not know this was going on ..... what you can do is put across the partnerships the two countries had in place then and stress the impact of Canada saying anything at that time ... Great book definatly use it ... may have a essay at home that i previously did so will try and find and upload it... Make sure your essay is not biased ... use other sources such as human rights organisations use books but say where you got your information from ... good book by Cynthia Keppley Mahmood - Fighting for faith and nation . THis is wrong you say the khalistani moveement has been brought down to its knees as a reult of one man ONE MAN ... if the movement can be brought down to its knees by one man then it cannot be a true movement ... look at our history we are sikhs. What you have to understand sikhs are % of the worlds population but out of this % how many are true sikhs .... these are the sikhs that when the time comes will gain Khalistan... i know that i write it now and many of you think yeh its easy to write but just think if the sant samaj or the Dhamdami Taksal says today that sikhs rise come to india lets get our freedom through force how many of you would go.... why is your answer like it is ? WJKK WJKF i feel most of you are off point When you look at the teachings and preachings of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale you will understand why the sikhs look up to them .... i once asked my chacha who knew sant ji personally why we matha teak (bow our heads ) to sants as we were visiting one and my familly bowed and i didnt ... (sant ji knew why i didnt aswell i could tell from his eyes and his smile) and the response i got was that we dont do matha to them but to their knowledge .. the knowledge of bani the bani that we should try to understand and spend our lifetime receiting.... any way my point is that we should be greatful we have someone that is so inspirational to us .... it is okay to say that they would not have wanted us to put the picture up or instead to read their speaches.. this is all good and well but what you dont look at is that there are those that have no access to their speaches where have you seen them published where have you seen them distributed freely or even sold ... secondly are you that highly interlectual that can you show me a interperator who can intepret the words of one person without loosing the meanings and feelings . Bhai Surinder Singh Ji Sodhi a great martar a man who fought for what he believed but who was he what did he do for the cause the nation. i know he was a great sikh and he was with sant ji but i would like to know more
