  7. I think i know who your talking about. very very close brother of mine. they wear it as it allows them to remember what they are, and who they belong to. personally when i see this person i feel so inspired. they also wear it so people will c that they are a sikh of Guru Gobind Singh. its the same principle of a dastaar (turban). it takes alot of courage to get to the ability to wear things like that as there are always the odd few that will do nindia, and say oh luk hes wearing a skirt.... but Guru Kirpa they keep chardi kalla
  8. im sure there are some dadrian wala fans in this forum? n e 1 wid info? its pretty urgent
  9. i agree with H, and P walla. whats the point of even being at a rensbai if your going to hang about outside socialising and gossiping. and i think bhaji above said about getting advice, i very much doubt that every person outside is talking to get advice. agree 100%
  10. Gurfateh!! i needed info on a sakhi, i remember hearing it on a bhai Ranjit singh dadrian wala vcd. it was about a singh that coloured his face black to stop the other singhs getting nazar. obviously Guru Gobind Singh ji told him it was wrong, but praised him for his pyaar. has any one got the names of the singh involved, and may be a more accurate account? some people where going to do a talk on ritualism, and i fout this would be a good sakhi to put in. and has any one got a presentation on superstitions or rituals? thanks
  11. GurFateh! i understand the prog being set months before, but the fact is it is so hard for any of these singhs to set up programs due to so many progs in the month. 1st coventry, then this one, then the rensbais (not saying its a bad fing) but progs will clash. so i think its important to try attending other progs aswel to keep ekta, and we should be willing to compramise our own kirtan darbars and allow others to have the oppertunity to do some seva in this way. one of the main purposes of the smethwick prog was to try and promote ekta. youl be able to notice the mix of kirtanees. i think after all of the recent events, its important for the youth to have a united front, especially at smethwick. hopefully next time we can try involving each other when arranging progs, so we can all be at these programs together rather then being split.
  12. unbelievable man! i think its important all sangat do ardas for this young sikh and hope that he gains strength in sikhi rather then led off the path. realy sadning news!

  16. vaheguroo would never want this. vaheguroo wants to take u into his sharn, its not that vaheguroo doesnt want you to become a sikh, he's testing you to see if these obsticals will stop you. dont let advice like that put you off, realise that its God thats telling you to come onto this path. its out of ur own determination and love that will carry you through

    Rehit?

lol i find this forum so funny sometimes. we find out our brother wants to take amrit, n straight away throw him strait into the politics of differences. just follow the rehat given to you by the panj piareh. dont do farak between amrit. if you want to take amrit go 2 nex sanchaar and do it. what rehat Guru Sahib gives you follow it. the important thing is that you giving your head to your Guru. the basic core rehat is pretty much the same, jus slight variations in different jatha bandis. just look at all the different maryadeh and try keeping a rehat more or less in conjunction with all of them. its not that difficult to adapt them all e.g. no drinking alcohol, no meat etc. what you not sure on ask the panj piareh!keep prosa in mahraaj. do ardas, Guru Sahib will guide you himself.
  18. just try educating them through Guru Sahibs Kirpa. do an ardas, mahraaj will carry you himself. jus put your faith into Guru Sahib. rather then avoiding confrentation talk and explain why kesh is important, and why you dont want to eat meat. this will require you to gain your own research into these principles and why they are done.
  19. i dont think the speed is the important factor, its your tyaan. if ur mind is focused then its fine. personally i prefer it slower as i find it easier to focus. i think it was i know some singhs that can read a japji sahib in lyk less than 2 minutes!! like sarbloh warrior sed, it depends on your avastha!
  20. gurfateh bhai sahib sometimes we have to go against our parents wishes. i think it depends on how bad you want to come into Guru Sahibs family. this is all a big test for you. you've found the true Guru. just remember we are born alone, and will die alone! try to make them understand, and show them what sikhi offers you. to become a khalsa take amrit, but to start follow basic principles of sikhi. share earnings, mediate on Gods name, and live honestly. if you show your family this is the path you want to follow theres not much they can say to oppose it. how old are you if you dont mind me asking? and where do you come from? may be some of the other sikhs that have converted from christian backgrounds can offer the sangat to show your family what inspires them etc. show them website links such as mrsikhnet.com n other similar websites. i think its important to help them understand. dont forget this is another test mahraaj giving you, with many more to follow!
