  1. it was a white researcher who did the whistle blowing to Boris besides the sikh federation seem to be in cahoots with uk and India in my mind , aren't they the ones who had a 'secret' chat with Modi
  2. No that's was why I suggested using on-line sites as you get original Gurmukhi text roman and English so you can cross check accuracy using dictionary such as mahan kosh in english or Punjabi
  3. about vadda I have told him don't mind socialising etc just tell us which location in London you are at and when you heading home , after months of going out and not texting or picking up and staying up late for him I just had it ; three chances then punishment . I think this is part of the problem when people say stupid stuff like it's different a guy can't come home with a baby errr if he doesn't keep it under control any guy can get pregnant with a random girl and then it becomes a problem for the whole family. I prefer to let them all know that I want zero grandchildren out of wedlock and preferably no sex underage or out of wedlock , no difference. Because little sis is a preteen I need to lay done the self-respect rules for all four of them , no one should accept this BS ideology that you are incomplete as an adult if you haven't done it (same old tired lines). I don't want my boys to be hypocrites like the amritdhari boys I knew as a kid who were going out with white and black girls to use and drop, but at the same time I'm not an 1d1ot there is massive peer pressure from non-sikh and surprisingly sikh quarters. So the rules is see how the person is as a human even before you make any kind of move . So far it's saved the twins once each because they fell for girls who turned out to be players and it ultimately turned them off emotionally because of their superficial natures . They are now concentrating on their own lives and sikhi ; love can happen later. They also have noted how crass their mates are towards their girls and women in general and have said how they don't relate to them. The twins have intervened with a sikh girl at college who was getting physically hit by a guy who was supposedly a friend , getting her to see that she is not at fault and that she doesn't have to accept that behaviour. Waheguru ji has done so much kirpa on us , just need some effort on my part to get through to the eldest and youngest.
  4. I think he is aiming for something like the Gideons where there is a copy in every hotel room , of course not thinking it through: that people given free stuff do not usually hold a mental value of that thing at all , and are more likely to disrespect it. Think about all those leaflets iven out at nagar kirtans where do they end up mostly ? on the floor, in the bin . Supporting knowledge is good but maintaining satkar is utmost so virtual granths on websites are better options . No paper waste, no torn or dirty pages , can cross-link themes by making it a hyperlinked document so learning is optimised .
  5. since when has Dhumma spoken for anyone apart from himself , he is a pretender who does not care for the reputation of the taksal tying the honour of the Taksal to his own kartoots ? Guru Pita ji told us to be responsible for ourselves to not look outside for responsible parties , we are all individually and jointly responsible for the state of affairs dadai dos na deoo kisai dos karamaa aapaniaa, jo mai keeaa so mai paeeiaa dos n dijai avar jana. similarly the others who show their true colours we know to distance ourselves from , Anurag Singh has just posted evidence that the SGPC has received Some of the confiscated Sikh library manuscripts and has been selling them instead of letting sangat know they have been returned . Now the sikh rehit maryada as published by SGPC is under fire
  6. There are translations available online , why not advertise those sites instead so we can make sure nobody starts handing out false information in the guise of Guru ji much like the history books and translations done in India ... sahib-e -kamaal by Lala Dalat Rai is an example which is being handed out to every abhilakhee for free in which it says that Guru Nanak Dev ji didn't make a seperate religion by just did a sudhar of hindu dharam and that Guru Gobind SIngh ji did what he did out of desh bhagati and his khatri khoon
  7. As my mum said , all kids are not the same so you go with what works with them , what worked with me didn't work with my kid bro (major coconut) I understand that . Yes I've spoken harshly , once or twice hit for dangerous stuff , removed possessions of eldest (who got into kusangat) even housekeys because of wrong attitude about getting home when he promised (stop out without texting or call) now at nineteen giving bad example to younger ones . But I've not had the same dramas at all with the twins although they had same treatment when younger , as I suggested I recognise that they are naturally different than elder brother so that is part of it but the earlier growing up treatment means that they all tell me their messups truthfully without any hesitations and trust me to listen and they will ask my advice . My Dad said something once in passing ,' they are trainee adults' and it's true if you look at it that way it gives you an idea of what they need to know and avoid to become positive assets to the world . Now my main concern is my daughter she is headstrong like the eldest , and I can see if she hangs with the wrong crowd at school she could easily become very superficial and self-centred , also given TV and films these days that agenda is pushed heavily. So I have to find her particular code to get through to her and instil good values and gurmat khial.
  8. it is stupid people who don't recognise their duties as a parent who talk like you , read Anand Sahib and what we are supposed to do : show them how to traverse in this world on a gurmat path, with love , sure you can admonish but then comes the teaching through vicharna and then the embrace . Beating just shuts down channel of communication and harshness will make them avoid you when trouble comes . They are not YOUR possessions but a special sewa and take it in that light.
  9. yeah but no scope to charge the golak a huge amount then pocket the money , any structural engineer could have sorted this out prior to the building but of course they didn't care about it really.
  10. And so the much publicised Khanda has collapsed less than a year after inaugaration. I kind of feel this indicates that hankaari projects like this , using symbols made up and usurped by sgpc should be shunned and shut down. http://activepunjab.com/worlds-highest-khanda-collapsed/
  11. I did mention that there is some more to Christianity than average joes know, they talk about time in same divisions using the same term watches -pehar, they believe in last pehar of night doing bhagti. a concept of swas simran . Just things that popped up which made me go hmm why is it missing from regular christianity?
  12. You read bible and Jesus teaches to Pray to the Father who is Akal Purakh Waheguru , in Fact also in the Bible one of the apostles says to Jesus you are good Rabbi (teacher) and Jesus turns to him and tells him I am not good only God is good and worthy of praise , Gurbani tells you the same , keep your faith In Akal Purakh Waheguru . The tough times will pass , trust in Waheguru don't pray for things pray for naam and his bhagti...
  13. Easy Meat has the estimate at 10,000 new victims each year with the current total over 1 million kids
  14. yep it kind of does when you look at the world those faiths are encouraging ... the 'chosen people' mentality is very dangerous BTW Jews and Orthodox Christians believe in reincarnation they have it written in scripture (prophets being reborn). The concept of being reborn illustrates God's mercy , we get chances to improve our lot instead of living one life and burning in hell forever which is not particularly merciful. I love the truly loving nature of Akal Purakh as described in Gurbani I cannot imagine how you could know that and accept the kind of petty way He/She is described by other faiths
  15. he is being disgusting and misogynistic by implying she was ridden by everyone thus the bike metaphor. My question would be are you using the same language for abuse victims and if so, where is your brotherly love ?
  16. from everybody's preteens ....
  17. how do you get them to do their homework and chores like that ???
  18. the gujjoos do carpooling to pick and drop their kids and their mates, the srilankans gets the mum who isn't working a shift to collect and drop/keep . There are ways if we cooperate , with the side benefit of getting to know the kids your one hangs with. We are the parents not their best mates , honestly why are apnay so scared of being thought of as old and as lawlayers ? do they honestly think going to the pubs and clubs with their daughters are going to earn them brownie points? you are only displaying them in a meat market. BTW if my kids say they hate me because they can't get me agree to be a pushover I consider myself to be doing the right thing.
  19. thing is the youngest victims are in the single digit age group when people start to groom them , they are literally powerless ...now the advent of social media and cameraphones it is so easy to spread dirt on victims and their families . What I have noted in my neighbourhood the Muslim Dads come down to pick up their older girls and walk them home , the girls that used to be in grades 5-6 and now have transferred to high/secondary schools walk the same routes but either the Mum or Dad is clamped to their side no aunties or uncles or even mates. Our kids are mostly alone or in small groups of friends (4 or less) , they are vulnerable on the way home and to school . Most of these gangs roam the adjacent streets to schools . Those parents who know about this stuff pick up their girls at the school gates but most just trust that she will just be OK .
  20. if you use a blend of castor oil and coconut oil warmed up gently , cooled and then bottled for your kesh this mix will nourish your hair and encourage speed of growth, eat loads of green veggies for amino acids and minerals .
  21. he's hitting his stride...guess the army is out of his system fully
  22. Thing is what we lacked in the eighties , the kids now have younger positive local gursikh people who speak like them and can act like mentors/big sis /big bro . Loads of on-line places to get knowledge, phoneline and societies who will support and help . We need to get the deep true history out because all the average jatinder or amarjit knows is back in the day there was bad guys but now there is no need to worry that was then and cos Guru ji says everyone is the same we can trust everyone. Parents especially Dads need to be positive and involved in their girl's lives , maybe taking them to sports classes, martial arts and encouraging their skills so the girls/boys see their dads are approving of them . Parents need to lose the ho-hai! attitude and deal in truth with the kids , give their no doubts that they will heard, loved and protected no matter what. I mean I could tell my folks the truth because I know they would hurt but still care enough about me to have my back. My own kids know no matter how bad things get they can come back and tell me . Boys also need attention else they fall through the cracks and get into drugs, boozing and misusing girls. They too can get abused so don't be complacent
