  1. will become a police state ? veera it is already that and more ...apne are so dhile now they can't even support by bodies being there , visiting, doing benti chaupai paat and being good sikhs and taking amrit?? those are things that show resistance to the powers that be and strengthen the kaum without so-called risking anything . I didn't think I'd hear people making excuses , wrong is wrong it is hukham for us to oppose evil and adharm and not stay silent . If punjabis are restricted they can still teach their families itihaas , bani, rehit and become Guruwale in that there is no restriction but our laziness and lack of backbone.
  2. I agree strike while the iron is hot ...get the true history out of the shelves and into our hirdey ...people are wowed by a 'tiny' glimpse of a suggestion of Guru ji's mahanta just wait and see when their eyes are opened to the links of now to then https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVQCIVCYxHc&feature=youtu.be something I knew about through parchaar by someone else , Baba Ranjit Singh ji
  3. can't shame the shameless, but she is to be admired for her stance ...I remember reading this a while ago anyone know what happened next?
  4. Dhan Dhan Jagat Guru Granth Sahib ji Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru
  5. some shots of the high quality merchandise http://newznew.com/realistic-3d-animated-film-chaar-sahibzaade-2/ Mr Sawney's linkedIn page https://www.linkedin.com/pub/rajiv-sawhney/19/871/a3a There seems to be a dearth of info about the company and proprieter prior to this movie.
  6. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh I've heard about Gurdwara fights but Gurdwara vaddiyan ton baje fight wow .... Congratulations to all the lucky, lucky souls living in Jo'burg Guru ji has graced your town laaha khato ji !! Haale yaara Haale yaara Khush Kabaree!
  7. Well , however it came into being it should never be used for the foulness that it is currently used for , swearing, harassing, belittlement, each each akkar is pavittar ... I remember Nani ji would do agan bhet of anything written in Gurmukhi script ...I remember reading that mahapurakh went to Harmandir Sahib and would strive to not walk on any paver with gurmukh lipi on it . Maybe we need to revive the level of satkar of our Maa boli and our script..
  8. don't shoot the messenger ...it's true we need to look deeply at our pathetic need to have tasveers drawn up to be convinced of our Gurus and their piare Gursikhs ' Mahanta like the Hindus we are falling to icon worship . We need to contemplate our Guru deeply and understand their jeevan jaach and try to bring ourselves closer to Bani , our true guru and only rely on that to nourish our spirits
  9. At the moment I think outside agencies are involved in printing Guru ji and the Satkar level is questionable , the reason given for outside agencies was too much demand ...but obviously they are NOT producing to order otherwise we would not have the situations such as in Italy above, also there must be unscrupulous people who are willing for money to sell to anyone in India otherwise how could RSS put saroops in their mandirs for Beadbhi? Since the overseer is the final person to be held responsible that means SGPC and Akal Takht are allowng these events to happen and expect Satkar Committee to fix the messes...not good enough.
  10. SGPC head Makkar said, “It is a noble cause and we will happily allow this venture in gurdwaras starting from Ludhiana.” (from above post) we already know how they shut down Bhai sahib's requests for a place in some Punjab Gurdwara to stage his protest. So selling merchandise is a nobler cause than getting our brothers out of jail??
  11. that doesn't seem right Gurmukh is person who is facing/going towards Guru ... so would a better translation be that which takes one towards Guru or that which belongs to a gurmukh?
  12. Came across this video today Of course Naad of gurbani I know about through raag lectures, but how true is his presentation given his association with Yogi Harbhajan and his own given presentation of himself.
  13. Veer ji it would be more accurate that we believe one has to have a Guru, give bhet and gain naam then amrit....and that is how all eastern religions models work , probaly the semitic faith too if you look closely however the semitic faith made the mistake of thinking the Naam too holy to utter ...this really perplexed me as a kid when I heard it . Yahweh is the Naam for jews (no J in hebrew) Moses is their Guru I suppose because he brought the naam and the rehit into being. Yeshua /jesus is Guru for Christians same naam. Muhhamed is the guru of the muslims and their Naam mantra is Allah.
  14. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh, I'm sorry this is blatant exploitation of Sikhs by Hindus ...the profits are all going to Mr Rajiv Sawney and the shame of it all is that SGPC are happy to pass over use of the holy premises of GUrdwarey for this, but not for the Hunger strike of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa? ..SHAME ON YOU!!!!
  15. quite democratic really i.e. the right to choose the wrong guy for the job/the right to choose the wrong deed to do :biggrin2:
  16. funny how it is hindi script instead of Gurmukhi (face palm)
  17. I do not think Guru ji should be printed at all , we should be writing out saroops because it would be the equivalent of doing three khoole paaths: once when we read original, twice in our minds, third when we read what we scribe. How amazing would that be much better than empty resams. I would propose workshops under Akal Takht supervision in each country overseen by avasta vale panj Gursikhs from each tradition e.g. taksal, nirmala, nihang, sewapanthi, where requests for a saroop would be vetted and preparations made to prepare household/gurdwara Gursikhs are able to read Shudh uccharan of Guru ji in larivaar saroop while the saroop is prepared . So that would mean no spare copies to go missing , to end up in bad places/hands. each akkar checked for the slightest fault as the work proceeds so no piles of misprinted pages that end up in on the floor in some village somewhere But get agan bhet after ardas
  18. but then again akal takht used to put dastars on all abhilakees as purataan rehit stood from 1699, also Taksalis bibi's do... kesh rakhna = hukam vich rehna which is pritam rehit from Guru Nanak Dev ji Punj's advice to us: If you seperate a kakkar from body you can do ardas for forgiveness (hair you can't really do that it's attached) If you seperate kesh from body you automatically stop being a Sikh and need to produce yourself in front of punj piarey for Pesh as it is bujjhar kurehit. (whole different level of seriousness) plus because kesh are so satkar yog Guru ji tied Dastar on the heads of the original Abilakhlees and later on Mata Bhag Kaur ji himself , not just one but two dastars plus made explicit Kanga is to be done twice a day in rehitnama. All the kakkars have been designed to remind one of staying on path and being of practical use to that end. Whereas Kes are Guru's more on us, it belongs to him along with our heads.
  19. I am just glad I was blessed to hear Guru ji's Anmol Bachan that day ...
  20. Veer ji I had a think about it , koi vi anhonee cheej nahin hondi, sare bharamand Waheguru de hukham te chalada: it was written that they, those Sikhs were to take amrit and because it was the sharat placed by the Raj to join the troops that was the mechanism...surely that one fact annihilates any objection we could ever make , they became Guruwale and inspired others to follow suit. They could have stayed home and never had amrit and they would have never inspired the current generations who look at their dastars and uniforms and read of their deeds of bravery and say , 'I want to be a true Gursikh like that, not scared of death, trusting Waheguru with every breath' It's not all bad ...
  21. youtube ...plugged in 1469 and kavita and got these sweet singhni made me smile
  22. Nice to see positive Gursikh image involved in physical activity , that too horsemanship
  23. hemp makes a lovely bit of rope too ... :happy2:
  24. slavery ...your definition it seems to be to go to work for an army which is not run by SIkhs , that any Sikh who does is simply an anjaan ghulam...or worse in your eyes is a traitor because he is working for the enemy... My point was Guru ji said once the active fight is over ...it is over How many years would you propose the SIkhs would have to wait before they can earn a living by working for the English, a career soldier will want to carry on soldiering it is in his nature... is it so wrong ?
