  1. Can you prove sant baba attar singh ji maustanaye waley didn't beleive in Bikrami Calendar by providing sources like (jevan sakhis and book written by other gursikhs of him). If you can't then please don't misguide the sangat by spreading false-information. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, please do not accuse me of spreading mis-information. What I have written is from personal knowledge from dialogue with Gursikhs of baba jis time, from my association with baru sahib projects. Also Baba jis biography books will mention his love for keertan and regularly monthly rainsbhais. baba ji was involved in the Gurdwara Sudar Lehar with Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh, Baba Vaskha Singh and others. There was no real issue of calenders then, it was more about removing corrupt masands and idol worship. Only yourself has brought the bikrami calender into this. I have not mentioned it. The question was on pooranmashi. I stand by what is clear and Gurmat. It is a non sikh superstition. It has no sipirtual significance other than the moon reflecting the sun. I stated earlier what is clear in Gurbani. An auspicious day is the day when we remember Naam, a non auspicious day is the day when we don`t. There is nothing talibanistic about this. Gurbani is clear. Please do not make false assumptions about us. Gurbani is logical and simple, it is not dogmatic, ritualistic or superstitious. QUOTE Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  2. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, if someone backstabs a gursikh, it is their Bad karams. Why lose your sehaj over it. "mass mass kar moorak chagare". Just keep your sahej and carry on with your jeevan. Just make sure you do not do the same thing. "Asa kam mooleh na keejah, jit Ut pachotaeh" - do not do anything that you will regret in the end. Relax and make bani your best freind. it never lets you down. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  3. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I have not come across any evidence of Guru ji being born on pooranmashi. This seems to be a story made up followers of full moon. Celebrating a full moon is significant in hindu tradition, not sikh religion. As far as Gurbani is concerned a good day or auspicious day is when you remember Naam, a bad day is when you dont. Pooranmashi was used by gursikhs for its light benefits, not anything else. For example sants celebrate it. The Akal Thakt maryada is against this. Some sants quote Baba Attar Singh ji celebrating it. This is untrue. Baba Attar singh ji Mastuanewale was a lover of bani. He held a rainsbhai keertan every month. This was held on pooranmashi purely due to their being more light, and easier for sangat to come and do seva. Nowadays sant followers have stopped the rainsbhais, and many are very anti them. However they have attached to the pooranmashi. This is indictive of our decline from Gurbani abyass to general ritualism and superstition. Another example of this is joths. They were used for light at night during akhand paths, but nowadays some people are superstitious about them. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, with all due respect, we Uk`ers do not have a high opinion of Americans. Only Americans could have voted for bush in the first place. He struggles to put a sentence together and makes Scooby Do look intelligent! I have to say Bush and his banking friends Bin Laden Family have together commited world genocide, illegal wars, and made US almost bankrupt. Seriously, I think Americans are confused. What are they voting for? Are you voting for a President or a Commander in Chief? If you are voting for a President - then out of the two, it is easily Kerry. America needs to regain its credibility in the world, and at least Kerry can debate. If you are voting for a Commander in Chief - then none of the above. Bush is incapable of deciding who his enemy is? he has no logic to his arguments and incapable of dealing with North Korea. kerry needs to be consistent on the Islamic Terrorism issue. In balance, vote for kerry, make the world a safer place.
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare draw off je, Can you please elaborate your relationship with shaheed Bhagat singh? Also who these individuals are that you mentioned where there at his last words? If i remember correctly, the only people to hear his last words where his companions, and his jailers. He was hanged ahead of schedule to counter protests from large congregations gathered outside the jails. None of his family where allowed to meet him near the end. They had no idea of his hanging time being brought forward. As far as him being a sikh at the end. This was stated by his family members on Punjab radio on his shaheedi anniversary. It seems strange that we now have two different versions from the same family? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  6. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! pyare jio, well said. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I think if you read the autobiography, you will find Bhai sahib never said he took Amrit. He was hanged before it could be arranged. He kept his kesh, and started reading Bani was what bhai sahib said. In the end, I think Bhagat singh was a fine soul, who sacrificed much for something which is nothing more than a Hinduised Colonial India. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  8. Waheguru ji ke Khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, I stayed up to watch the programme and it was well worth it. There were technical mistakes such as the narrator stating Sahib Siri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born a Hindu, and Sikhism was an amalgamation of Islam and Hinduism. Apart from that it was actually very good. I have tried searching for the producers on the History Channel website today to points these mistakes out, and to congratulate them on the rest of it. The documentary began with youth from the Damdami Taksal playing Gatkha praising Baba Jarnail singh ji Bindranwala. Then it started from the partition of 1947. It explained the horrors of it, and how it divided the Punjab in half. However it failed to mention that Punjab is actually now 1/3 with the creation of Haryana state. It progressed into the Sikh grievances, and how the promises made by the Congress failed to materialise. It showed footage of the Punjab Morcha, and the crackdown on Sikhs before the Asian Games. I am not sure why every documentary maker on Sikhism always uses Khushwant Singh. In this interview he did not even wear a dastaar. He rarely speaks anything of significance, and is generally an embarrassment to Sikhs. With so many educated Sikhs, why does he always get used? Other contributions by Mark Tully did reek of his usual bias for the Indian Government. Any normal journalist would ask why were the press removed during the attack and its aftermath? What where they hiding? He himself stated it was the most controversial, yet least reported event in Modern Indian history. However he failed to ask why? Is this not journalism is all about? Then the documentary centred o n Baba Jarnail Singh ji. The footage shown was very good. Also was the extent it went to understand Baba ji. You got a true sense of his persona as a Great Gursikh. It clearly showed his keen interest was in spreading sikhi in the villages. It mentioned the 1978 Amritsar saka, and the follow up clash with Nirankaris. However at this point, the interviewed Sikh from Damdami Taksal mentioned that Sant ji offered a weight in gold for anyone who killed Nirankaris, which corroborated the narrators comment on this. This hinted negativity on Baba ji. Factually I believe this is incorrect. A Hindu paper at the times which was constantly challenged Baba ji, originated this comment. Baba ji simply said why not? That he would. I also would have preferred if rather than using silly dubbing voices, that they allowed Baba jis voice, with sub-titles. I am also quite sure some of the quotes were out of context, and it neither balanced the arguments by showing how Baba ji himself often treated Hindus with respect. Mark Tully`s reference to General Shabeg Singh was completely unhelpful and rather silly. To its credit the documentary then showed Baba Jarnail Singh was not a terrorist, but he was made one by the media. This is a very important point, and completely true. It showed that violence had gripped Punjab, but stated that the media blamed Baba Jarnail Singh. However it balanced this with the counter-claim by Baba ji, that is was Indian intelligences agencies behind it, to discredit the movement. It showed the planning of the attack in detail. However it failed to go far enough to question the very point it made. Why did the attack happen on Sahib Siri Guru Arjan dev jis Gurpurbs, one of the busiest days in the year? It showed a Raagi Gursikh wife`s interview to give a human face to the events. Later this was very powerful. General Brar was also interviewed. He tried to justify the unjustifiable. It showed limited footage on the attack. However it did go well into its aftermath. It showed pictures of innocent Sikhs tied on the Parkarmia, and showed that they were eliminated. It questioned the Human rights abuses that occurred. It showed Baba Jarnail singh jis shaheedi saroop, and emphasised his prophecy. “The day the Government attacks Siri Darbar sahib, is the day the foundation stone for Khalistan will be laid! ”. It continued on to Indira Gandhi`s behaviour after the attack. It showed the deep resentment that now existed in Sikhs around the world. General Brar said no human rights abuses had occurred in a tone, that he could not have even convinced himself. On a funny note, General Brar also admitted how deeply unpopular he now was, with many attempts on his life. He said even his own uncle had threatened to kill him! It showed how Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own bodyguards due to resentment for the attack. To its credit, it covered the Delhi Roits very well showing it through some widows stories giving it a human edge. The comments of the Sikh widow were very powerful. However I know BBC has extensive footage of the Roits with Sikhs being burned in front of cameras. None of this footage was used. It further continued how the Government systematically brought genocide to Sikh youth in Punjab, with footage of dead Sikhs. This was also an important addition which it covered. It mentioned the Air India bomb, but it balanced this with stating that even though Canada most expensive trial is happening, that even the investigators have not discounted it was done by Indian Government to discredit the movement. It ended with the same Gursikh Bibi of Darbar sahib. Her son made a good comments emphasizing the hurt Sikhs still feel today. In conclusion, the documentary was very well-balanced. We as Sikhs also have to accept there are two sides to this. However with both sides presented clearly, one ended the documentary with the feeling that Baba Jarnail Singh ji was a good sikh, that Sikhs had genuine grievances, that Indira Gandhi made a huge blunder in Operation Bl ue star, that the Sikhs were justified in their revenge, that the 84 roits and aftermath were horrific, and that Sikhs still today have genuine hurt at its treatment in India. I think the documentary makers were from Canada, and I think they should be encouraged in their efforts. I wish to write to them direct, but have been unable to get their contact details from the History channel website. If someone does have them, please let me know. Waheguru ji kekhalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh
  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, the years done, mean nothing relly. Things are so bad, that i know of some singhs in India, who sentences are spent, but they are still not being released. Yesterday, Bhai Balbir Singh was honoured at Sikh missionary Society, by UK sikh leaders. In his speach, Bhai sahib said, I met so many Singhs in Tihar jail, who are still there today. You are people in power with funds to support you. It is your duty to help them, and free them. All these years you have ignored them, at least now wkae up to your responsibility. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  10. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, you have to be very careful about what Communists have written. My great grandfather was a Babbar Akali, and was given a hanging sentence by the Britsih Government. Before he was hanged he insisted that no memrial be made to him, as he said i do not want people "pujing" it, like they do to the trees and spots in fields in Punjab today. Instead he wrote a book, about why he wants freedom in india, and how the Khalsa will succeed. After he was Shaheed, with his younger brother, the family went through alot of hardship. They could not afford to publish the book. Giani Zail Singh had alot of respect for my Great Grandfather and built a huge gate outside the village with his picture commemorating his Shaheedi. This was against the wishes of the family. He also said he would publish the book, which he took. He gave the book to some Communists to print. Throughout the 30`s - 70`s, there was a large Communist movement in Punjab. They published the book out of their respect for the Babbar Akalis. However they made them out to be communists, with no respect for Sikhi. They completely re-hashed the book, removing all reference to the khalsa, and sikhi. This book is still today sold by Indian Government. It was only ten years ago, when my uncles, completely unhappy with this have decided to re-publish the book in its original form. This is how our history is being hi-jacked by others with thier own agenda. Bhagat Singh was educated at khalsa College in Amritsar, and was vehemently anti-caste, and many other social evils. I can no reason why Communists have not hi-jacked him to progress thei r movement, which is why you always see his photo with a hat and moustache. Only in recently years have sikhs started his photo with a dastaar. On his anniversary, on Punjab radio, they interviewed his family members in punjab, aswell as others from the village. It was said in the 50`s the Government made a statue of him for the village. The family sent it back saying they want one with a dastaar as their "Bhagta always wore a dastaar". I see no reason to doubt Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh ji`s statements about him. It corresponds completely with the last picture taken of him in jail, where he started keeping his kesh. 11. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! pyare jio, bhen ji, thanks ! Hope to be blessed with the sangats darshan there. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  12. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I think it would be good for all youth to come together on one platform, and one place. They only time this really happens in Uk is at 1984 march, and it is an amazing site. However from many years of doing seva with youth, and organising smagams and camps. I would just suggest to you. Please be careful, because it should not be a "gallan" thing. You will enjoy it but your inspiration will be limited, and it will not work for long. The reason smagams and Khalsa camps work well is because they are fundamentally based around Naam abyss. This should be the core thing from which everything flows. Then you will have an event which youth worldwide will want to attend, year after year. Another bit of advice. Your biggest obstacle will be not the event. There will be plenty of willing sevdaaars and enthusiam. But as those of us involved in khalsa camps and Sikhi camps are finding - the biggest problem is finding suitable venues for an affordable price in UK. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  13. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I came across this a few years ago. I think it is fantastic. It is done by a Christian group, with a message from Jesus. However some people asked for a universal one to be done. hence this one. There is also another one in this series called "pathways to peace". I have translated it into Punjabi with the hope of one day coming across a webmaster who can create these flash presentations. Then showing them in Gurdwaras. I have many ideas of doing further ones like these using Gurbani messages on specific subjects, and also promoting Bani and bana, sikh history and so much more. Please contact me if you can do these flash presentations. It is an excellent method of presenting messages in a professional way. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  14. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, forgive my ignorance. Please explain where it is and how the set-up works? Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  15. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, the way the process works in terms of selection of a new jathedar is:- 1. Every jathebandie, organisation, taksal, and Singh Sabha in the Panth is consulted with name of the nominated individual. They either agree to his/her selection, or disagree. If they disagree, then the have to present valid argument for this. If this argument is considered valid, then the person is not allowed to be jathedar. Similair to black-balling. 2. Sikhi does not allow voting as per Gurmat. Hence the institution of the Panj Pyares. Also you will notice in Gurdwaras people do not clap, or vote by raising hands. This is not allowed per gurmat. This is because everyone should debate until they come to one unanimous decision. Nobody is turned away, neither is thier opinion. This does work, but everyone needs to be a Gurmukh, and have understanding about how to do vichaar as per Gurmat. However over the years people have failed to understand this, or have been unable to justify their views and used force rather than reasoning. 3. The last person in the Panth to be selected by consulting all sections of the Panth was Bhai Ranjit Singh. Hence he is the valid jathedar. Bhai Jasbir singh Rode was rejected by many sections of the Panth for valid reasons, however his supporters used the gun to put him there. 4. Today we have Badal appointing Jathedars at his whim. He considers himself the Panth, and has no regard for Guru Granth & Guru Panth. Bhai Ranjit Singh, i personally never considered as having the qualities of a Jathedar. He has many admirable qualities, such as proven track record of Panthik seva, spirit a nd courage. However he is illerate and easy led, as is the case by Sant Samaj today. 5. The ideal Jathedar will only be choosen when the individual is chosen by a criteria. He/She needs to have:- - a full rehaitvan Gursikhi jeevan, - knowledge of Sikh rehat maryada, sikh history, and Gurbani. - be an intellectual - courage and spirit to speak against oppression and corruption - knowledge of world affairs, media, and consider Sikhi a world religion, not a punjab religion. I personally consider the dalai lama, is a good role model for how this role is conducted. He is a leader, but also an ambassador for his religious beliefs, and conducts himslef accordingly. He understand his role, and effectively uses his contacts and the media to progress his Tibetian interests. At this moment there is no one than stands to mind that fits this context in Panjab. I firmly believe the ideal jathedar will now come from abroad as Punjab has a slave idealogue aswell as a corrupt one, inheret in it. Jathedars needs to nurtured and created. The prominent jathabandies need to look at this. The Panth is weak, but jathebandies are strong. This is a bad situation for the Panth. The strong jathabandies need to unite to create a strong Panth. Often this means sacrificing thier self-interest. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  16. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, are things really this bad in vancouver or is it just hyped up by the media. I heard before this reporter has a poor reputation within sikh community. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  17. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I believe 22 members of his family were shaheed. Not only his direct family, but uncles, aunts and their kids aswell. He was the last of the movements Generals to be shaheed. Only a few months earlier Bhai sukhdev Singh babbar and Bhai Gurjant Singh Budhsinghwale were shaheed. The shaheedi of all these figureheads led to a lull in the movement, until Bhai Dilawar Singh babbar blew up the Chief minister. I think Baba Gurbachan singh was shaheed in 1993. I remember an extensive article in India today, which showed how he was caught and shaheed. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  18. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, I met his youngest son at the akj smagam in India, and he attended my wedding. He is a very nice young Gursikh. He is called Blue Star as a nickname, due to being born during the Operation. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  19. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, the only way to stop this is to make an example of the police officers involved. Hence the matter should not be dropped. People always jump on the bandwagon and say sue. But the reality is you have to look at the legalities the case. Only the individual and his lawyer can examine this. However the sikh community in Toronto should come together and organise a peaceful protest outside the police station, in respect to the incident. This should be done in a Gurmat manner, no shouting or slogans, but a peaceful sitdown protest of hundreds. Banners such as "Sikhs are Not terrorists!" should be used. This will show the community will not tolerate being treated as terrorists. The behaviour of the protest should reflect your message that sikhs are a peace-loving community with high morals. Secondly, as in done in Slough Uk. The youth should begin dialogue with the police. In slough, we have a specific presentation approved by the Metropolitan Police. This is mandatory for all new police recruits covering slough. The presentation is about ethnic awareness of Sikhs. It is always done by practicing Sikhs and is shown on a Powerpoint format. Create a constructive partnership dialogue like this with the police and other public service agencies to ensure these one-off incidents do not happen again. Anyone who wishes to know more about the ethnic awareness presentations can contact myself or contact SCAN (Sikh Community Action Network) in slough. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  20. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, yes it is a huge shame that punjabi people associate themselves with caste, and build gurdwaras according to them. AKJ UK has always worked to break down caste barriers as per the ideolgue of Guru Shaibaan. The situation in Slough is there are 2 Gurdwaras. One Singh Sabha and one Ramgarahia. You may say do keertan at Singh sabha, because it does not associate with caste. However the reality is in recent years Singh sabha has become very pro-Congress, and generally non-Panthic. It is very anti-youth. This is apparent by it significant non support of the multi-million pound sikh school project in slough. The Ramgarhia for all its inherent caste issues, has to its credit supported the sikh school project, and allows youth to use its facilities to counter the many problems young sikhs in slough are facing. I would say the Ramgarhia gurdwara is currently significantly more Panthic than the other option. The AKJ UK Gursikhs in slough, particularly the youth are heavily involved in the school project, which is much needed in slough. The rainsbhai will further promote the school project. I think today almost every Gurdwara has some kind of anti-Panthik element. Some have caste, others follow babas, etc. It is the duty of every Gursikh to bring social reform. The jatha does this via bani of Guru Ji, and Bana of the Gursikhs. In time as more education reaches the youth they will realise the fallacies of much of what the elders have done with the Gurdwaras, and use them for strong Gurmat parchaar. But that day will only come when more youth have spirit, and stop running aw ay from the problems in our Gurdwaras. The committees are a bastion for retired punjabis and their mind and ego games. With Bani & Bana, the generation that will bring change is gradually revealing itself. Do not close your minds to these places, but open their minds to Gurmat. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  21. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, Che Guevara once famously said, I only need 6 guns to build cuba, but I need thousands of books. He knew the importance of spreading the ideologue that he believed in. It is motivated minds that build nations. Similarly in the khalistan movement, when you had inspirational Gursikhs like Baba Jarnail Singh who spoke to the masses. Then you had Gursikhs like Bhai Sukhdev Singh babbar and Bhai Anokh singh Babbar, who`s jeevans personified their message, the movement was strong. The reason the khalistan movement is currently very weak is because there is no-one in punjab who is spreading the khalsa idealogue. That is the key, not what happens here or Canada, but what happens in Punjab. At the moment we just have hundreds of fake babas spreading kachhie bani, fake akalis representing a BJP/RSS agenda, and very weak jathebandies. Dissemination of idealogue is where sikhs are lacking on the worldwide platform. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  22. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I recently read Al-Majorouns message to the world, which showed its mentality. It started me thinking how much we need sensible views and perspectives to be put to our youth and others, to really show them what religion and God are about. Below is just a start, may be others can make suggestions to improve it. Then it can be distributed, and put up on walls, to really get people thinking. An Invitation to Think……… Sometimes it is important for us to just reflect on what is around us, what we are doing and why? It is important to understand what motivates us and why we do the things we do…. So let’s just sit back, think and reflect…… Look around and we see the hustle, bustle of life. Everyone busy, many stressed, just trying to keep up, trying to keep ahead. We all divide ourselves into groups, based on our colour, culture, nationality, religion, sex, age, education, wealth, etc. Yet we are all the same. We all spend our lives in pursuit, searching and striving for something better. If not for us, then for our children. The pursuit for happiness, and we strive for it in many ways. But have all of our endeavours actually made us happier. This constant pursuit has made us humans, scavengers on this earth. We are ravaging it. You may think this is strong, but just think for a while. Look at every specie on this earth. Everyone lives in harmony with the others in their particular ecosystem, while living in harmony with the environment around them. They have their needs such as food, shelter, etc, just like us, yet they are content in their existence, and just do what t hey can to satisfy these needs. They do this while being in complete equilibrium with everything and everyone around them. Only humans go further in our greed and lust for more, more, more. We disrupt and sometimes destroy these natural balances, and use our limited intellect to create our improvements to the perfection on nature. We bring change to nature, in our attempts to improve it, but do not realise for every solution we find, the more resultant problems we create. Can we humans ever satisfy our needs and wants, or is this a never-ending emotion? We live our lives in the rat race of life, collecting more and more, and sharing less and less. This has become our nature. We spend our entire lives creating wealth, we lose our health to make money, and then spend our money to restore our health. So illogical, yet we all do it. Our cleverness has reached amazing bounds. Thousands of years ago we lived in caves in mountains. Today, we have cars, mobile phones, the internet, and have reached the moon. In another thousand years, who knows what we will have. But are really better off? Not really, people back then spent their lives in the same way, as we do now. Are our rows of houses in our cities, just modern day caves in mountains, just providing us shelter? They scavenged to ensure food and shelter; we work daily in a rat race to do the same today. It is just we have more aids to help us in this pursuit, and more expectations and want bigger and better things. If we break it down to bare basics, our lives are not that different, just our environments have changed. Today, we humans run to far off lands for better lives and prospects, and people in those lands run to other far off lands with the same hopes. It is just a constant cycle of change. We group ourselves in religions, nations, in our tribal nature. Throughout our history, all nations and communities have at times oppressed, created repression, leading to the repressed to fight back and liberate, and then in their new role as liber ated become oppressors themselves. So the cycle starts again. This is described as our human nature. It is us who have created weapons, including weapons of mass destruction. But why do they exist. Because we as humans prejudice other humans, this leads to ignorance, which eventually creates paranoia and fear. We use these weapons to protect ourselves from others, who are just like ourselves. We fear each other, but our fear is based on the notion, that the other thinks in the same devious way that I think, so I must protect myself from his devious nature. We spend millions in this fear and paranoia, but spend little in creating understanding and co-existence. Our human nature is illogical, yet we constant try to explain it with logic. As children we strive to grow up, and we as adults we want our childhood back. We build more and more concrete cities, and destroying nature, only to search for that nature again to escape from our creation. We understand our rat race, but we teach our children to be part of it. We educate them in maths, science, technology, to create more means and technology to make our lives easier, but it is that same technology that has made our lives so stressful. Why do we never teach our children about life, about Sat, Sontokh, Daya, Dharam (Truth, Contentment, Compassion, and Ethics)? It is these that will give them happiness, not the rat race of wealth and power. The reality is we continue to strive and struggle until we find and understand these 4 states of mind, especially contentment. Is it not true, that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least? When we realise this, we stop and discover, it is not about scavenging and collecting, but about sharing and enjoying. It is not about the searching outside, but the discovering inside. As in our nature we always find faults in others outside, but rarely look for faults inside. In the same way we always search for happiness outside, and never look for it inside. When we look inside, we find Waheguru. Some say there is no God, and it is just the human minds creation for finding hope in life. But those who found God have never needed hope, only those who have not found God need it. Others say religions create indifference and wars. Yes, some may have if there religions teach lust for power, conversion, domination, and superiority. Or some have just been hijacked by humans as means for their lust and greed for power and wealth. Sikhism does not teach this. My Guru – Shabad Guru – Sahib Siri Guru Granth Sahib teaches me to love One humanity, and share in its goodness, and to resist its wickedness. It is not a collection of fables, stories, rules and regulations, economic system, or theories of future doom and destruction. No my Guru gives me the answers to the questions of Life - the Timeless Answers to the Timeless Questions. It is far beyond a religion, a nation, but knowledge which will become a global phenomenem, as more escape from the illusion (maya), and discover the questions and search for the answers. Sikhi is the perfect lifestyle, a soul, beyond male or female, living in equilibrium with its body, (rehat), in perfect harmony with itself, (sahej), in service of the world and humanity, (seva). Humans living and working in communion with each other, and the world, not escaping from it. Family people, progressing life, providing spiritually progressive education to children, and beginning them on their path to becoming the best human beings that they can possibly be. No one is born a Sikh. Sikhism is earned, discovered and experienced. Any human being, regardless of any barriers, has the capability to reach the highest plains of spirituality, self-discovery, and eternal happiness. My Guru ji welcomes all to this path. It is not about making more Sikhs, we are not a group. It is about opening more minds to the path of contentment and love. Being a better human race, in harmony with all, and in harmony with nature. In the end, there is only One. That is all there ever was, and that is all we have. We are all One human race. We all live on One earth. We all breath the same One air. We all have the same One Life. We all search for the same One emotion in it (happiness). We all pray to and exist because of the same One God. One day, when we will become enlightened and realise, whatever is on the outside is also in the inside. Instead of searching outside, we need to discover inside, discover that Spirit within. That One Waheguru exists in us all, we just need to remove the curtain of our prejudice, ignorance and hatred, and let Waheguru shine out of us. Let Waheguru shine in our faces, in our words, in our actions. Discover Waheguru, and make our lives and the world a more beautiful place…. Jagjit Singh Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  23. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, just for the sangats reference. The person who has made the Uk nihangs sites is Jagdeep Hounslow, and not Jagjit. Please do not give us Jagjits a bad name. It is bad enough having to constantly hear references to Jagjit Singh Chohan, Indian Govt agent. Also the story about the four nihnags on each door at Darbar sahib in 1984 is false. The darbar sahib was stormed, and singhs fought room by room. None of the eye witness accounts ever mention any nihangs at gates, from Indian Govt side or Singhs version of events. Also everyone fought with guns and bullets, not swords. It just seems to be another made up story which people forward and makes it to some website. Bhai Avtar Singh Brahma was an amazing Gursikh, and was known in his area as the modern Robin Hood. He wore Gursikhi bana was not linked to nihang dals. He was head of the Khalistan Liberation Force. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  24. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyare jio, just an observation:- Since when has sants become a different entity in Sikhi where they need preferential treatment. The highest stage of sikhism is to be come a Sikh. That is what Bhai Lehna ji was and why he became Sahib Siri Guru Angad dev Ji. Pro-sants veers mention Baba Siri Chand, but Sahib Siri Guru Nanak dev in the saakis showed his avasstha, and also how this led to his failings. We should also just try to be Gursikhs, not sants, gyanis, maha purshes, etc. And we should collect the dhoor, not from one but from all the sadh sangat by doing Joorian de seva. Then maybe we will be blessed by Guru Ji and have a jeevan like Bhai Kanaya Ji and see Guru Ji in everyone. A high jeevan is something that is blessed, and equally can be taken away aswell. A veer mentioned earlier sikhi is spread by sants. I disagree. Sikhi is spread by Bani, Bana, truthful living and sincerity. The core thing being Bani. No sants has anything shakti without bani, even Guru ji clarifies that he is nothing, and Bani Guru, Guru Hai Bani. Also Guru Moorat Gur Shabad hai, ( the image of the Guru is in the Shabad.) No sant can ever compare to Guru. Lets try to be sikhs and Gursikhs, and let higher names be something that Guru Ji blesses us with, not something we bless ourselves with, or let others hype us or others with. In every true sikh, a light shines from their face, no-one is blind to that, and everyone knows it. They never need to say anything. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  25. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! pyare jio, youth should just concentrate on building jeevans and doing seva for the panth. Guru Maharaj will then take care of these karaj for you. He himself will pick your companions. Santan de karaj Aaap Koloaa, These things are down to your sanjog, which Guru Maharaj will make appear in front of your eyes himself. Marrage is just one part, there is so much in life that Guru Maharaj will allow you to discover if you focus and practice upon the right things. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
