  5. People are becoming really nutty gritty , Dont know what my friend means with monkety nuts and eating spinach ? on this occassion , thats really news !!!!!! The Fact is that , all over India , the occassion is celebrated under Different names , In North it is Lohri , in western they call it Uttrayan , in south it is Pongal , The real occassion is , The sun from this Day onwards starts spreading Rays in most part of earth specially on Northern Hemisphere reducing cold weather and the tfrom now onwards Hot season starts approaching . Sikh Religion & this Festival - No connection . But I have travelled in Most parts of India - Many think Dulla Bhatti was a Sikh ( How Funny ? our Community Leadership never Tries to Explain Themselves to the other Diaspora - More Funny , Even More Funny is notion expressed by someone here that Punjabi Culture is Sikh Culture ) Sad part of it all is that Sikhs from & of Punjab think that Sikhi is their Monopoly and only them have right to decide what is Sikhism . while Sikhi in the days of Guru Sahibaan was spread from Kashmir to Srilanka & Assam to Baghdad , Just give it a thought , do we want to make it a Universal Faith or Religion of Punjabi ppl only ? I may look going wayward from the topic , But I see Similar questions being raised every year at Lohri , then Holi , Baisakhi , and the Diwali , every year Answers & views expressed are Same , we remain carrying on business as usual , same wayforgetting within days the real message SORRY WITH FOLDED HANDS IF SOMEONE FEELS I AM BEING TOO MUCH

  8. The site Islam Sikhism - the ppl running it are fake, because they do not believe in healthy discussions , instead presenting their own POV . Never basing their response to any logic and only saying this is written in Holy Quoran . All thier articles are criticising other faiths .Clearly thier dec lared aim is DAWA ( what they say is call to mankind for putting faith in Islam ) Hence their are only collections of negativity .That is the site where Al Taquiyya is active and why should we give him so importance in our discussions ?

The bhajan having the above lines has been quoted in full , I have quoted the site , please search in the site if another bhajan suits your requirement , even otherwise I am sure you will love the other bhajans too , and the site also . as it is a minefull of good poetry. There is a story that Meerabai , having been persecuted by her Husband's family wrote letter to Soordas & tulsi dass , i do not have full poem , but remenber a line from the poem since school days - GHAR KE SWAJAN HAMARE JETE SABANIH RAAR BADHAAI , Both Soor Das & tulsi Das responded . Soor Das replied in Bhajan - "Chand Man hari Bimukhan ko sang , Ja ke sang kumat upjati hai parat bhajan me bhang " and Tulsi das replied in Bhajan " Ja ke hriday nahi Ram Vaidehi , tajiye taahi kot vairi sam jadapi param sanehi "

There is only one line mentioned in SGGS P 1253 - Further next there is a Shabad mentioned as Sarang Mahla 5 Soordas and Full Shabad is noted down as M 5 is mentioned alongwith , it is surely a Shabad by Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji - but in the last line Soordas name is mentioned . Prof Sahib singh in Guru Granth Sahib Darpan ( Teeka of SGGS) at page 5177 to 5183 has given his views very nicely ( I strongly recommend a reading ) the teeka is available for download at vidia.com and gurbanifiles.org Prof Sahibsingh ji has also mentioned that " some people say that the full bhajan ny Soordas is written in Bhai Banno khari Beer , and in Kartarpuri Beer full Bhajan is written and is cancelled ( Uppar hartaal feri gayi hai ) " . Burt he further mentions that he himself had opportunity to have darshan & study of KartarPur Beer (alongwith Principal Jodh singh & Master Kehar singh ) and in Kartarpori Beer only one line ( under reference ) alone is written ( without any further lines written & deletion made thereof ) and there is no reason to doubt his words

Here the first line is written as - Tajo man hari bimukhan ko sang . all other lines are as I read during mu school Days ( full bhajan by SoorDas ) as follows तजौ मन हरि, बिमुखनि कौ संग । जिनकैं संग कुमति उपजति है, परत भजन में भंग । कहा होत पय पान कराऐँ, विष नहिं तजत भुजंग । कागहिं कहा कपूर चुगाऐं, स्वान न्हावाऐं गंग । खर कौं कहा अरगजा-लेपन, मरकट भूषन-अंग । गज कौं कहा सरित अन्हवाऐं, बहुरि धरै वह ढंग । पाहन पतित बान नहिं बेधत, रीतौ करत निषंग । सूरदास कारी कामरि पै, चढ़त न दूजी रंग ॥7॥ It means in full that - Hey mann, ye shall give up company of those who are against god. (Because in such company ) thier company will arouse kumatt and our simran gets disturbed .Like serving milk to serpant , he will not give up emitting poison , same way feeding kapoor to Crow and giving holy bath to Dog will always be futile .Again giving chandan lape (annointing ) to Donkey , decorating a monkey with GEms & ornaments , Giving river bath to Haathi , all are futile as these animals will not give up thier ( wayward & bad ) habits . The fallen souls (durjan peoples ) are Stones which cannnot ne pierced by arrows , only our Tarkash will become empty in out Tryst . So says soordass that a black kambal cannot be dyed in any other colour -

Now their hidden agenda is coming out , all these years they , RSS , have been saying that word hindu is all inclusive for people living in India , and it implies the cultural unity and people living here are all hindu chrisitians , hindu muhammedans etc , the word HINDU inplying cultural & geographical meanings . And now they are calling Ghar wapasi for musalmaans & christians of iIndia . Meaning whatever they said earlier was rather lie , or more politely speaking intentions disguised in softer words . I do not think they will , but if sucess comes their way ( I doubt it, there are more chances that they wouldn't) they will not stop there , next they come down on indigenous faiths i e Khalsa , Jainis & buddists , they already do not recognise pagan faiths ( the beliefs of indigenous ppl called Adivasis ) . So we have to be prepared for that time , Alas our leadership (if there is any )is still sleeping

Actually it is funny mix of election & selection - First Badal & Co selects candidates for SGPC , then these candidates are elected by people listed as voters ( & they get free supplies of booze & other joy enhancing substances ) .Now these elected members sit togather to elect (?)the President of SGPC( who is already selected and his name comes out from a lifafa recieved from XXX( do IO have to tell the name?) .Now thus elected & Selected Pradhan sits with his selector to select a person who can fit into the designs of the eleced selector and the selected elector .And Lo A new Jathedar is announced . I have seen this happening since I was wise enough to understand the design

LOL , mitti actually means dust , or more accurately soil , I feel what you mean is mithi (sweet is called mithi in punjabi ) The whole punjab is divided in to many areas - Th Malwa , Jalandhar Doab what we nowadays call Doaba , the Bari doab - Modern day'a Majha and area from Lahore to Multan across the border , then comes Rachan Doab the area lying between rivers Ravi & Chenab , further there is Jatch Doab - area between Chenab & Jehlum Rivers (Whole area is in Pakistan) and then comes the last - Sindh Sagar Doab - area between Jehlum & Sindu Rivers . All the zones having separated by rivers and having difference in climatic conditions too the difference in bolis ( Dialects ) is but natural .Further Punjab having been ,since prehistoric days melting pot of many races & cultures , all races coming from the western side - the ARyans , Huns, Scythian or Sakas ( Different subraces of this groups are Jats , Kambojas , and other Clans claiming to be Surya wanshis ) more recent additions being Mongols ( mugals ) plus the original dwellers , the penetrations by different races ranged eastwards as per the order of their descent , thus intermingling of Languages effected in different regions upto different degrees ( in proportion to depth of penetration of theses races) , resulting into Different dialects . Anothert factor being the climatic conditions ( Example - people in hotter climate open thier mouth more & Cold climate restricts the movement of lips & toungue - thus pronounciation gets different - in Jullunder & Malwa area what is spoken Paisa becomes in Peha in Majha area , same way Veethi ( Lane ) in Sanskrit becomes Beehi in punjabi . Coming to Europe - in Nordic countries where climate is extremely cold L becomes silent in all words . These are the reasons for difference in Regiona Dialects . Now punjabi being spoken by punjabis in Europe & American Continent has imbibed so much of English grammer & sentence structure that in India , we take some time in understanding it . In nutshell , the language is a means of communication , a dynamic tool for expression of views and with the mobility of people speaking it , is bound to change with addition of new words , obsolence of some and we should take the changes happening in that spirit only and not to ridicule each others To expand a little bit further at present Punjabi has 15 - 20 dialects , one can find these at Wikipedia , are ahave a unique flavor , and we should respect all these dialects

Not wanting to be pulled into your vitriolics , I just want to say Please do not limit gurbani to punjabi speaking ppl only , what is wrong , Are you not interested in spreading the message of the great gurus ? just one poster in hindi is enough to raise so much hullabaluu? what is wrong with you guys ? I just said that I wand to spread the teachings of great Gurus to non punjabi ppl & you are all so agitated ? i still stand by what I said , kirpa karo aur apne shell se bahar aao , Guru nanak dev ji ke sandesh ko punjab se bahar pahunchane me adanga mat dalo .   23. now I get you sir , According to you , the Sikh faith should be restricted to punjabis (specially jatts only ) others better stay away . But we will not let that happen .
