  1. Or black Sikhs will marry black Sikhs, white Sikhs will marry white Sikhs, and Mongolian Sikhs will also stick to their own. ? If we can't people to move past caste after taking Amrit, you're being way too optimistic when it comes to issues of race. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it will take a better quality of soul to achieve this.
  2. Behave yourself. It's part of the process, an important part. Other things and deeds in conjunction with paath are vital, but you're playing games. Don't try to mislead a vulnerable person with bad advice.
  3. One of many subtle yet ultimately significant issues that we neglect because we just lack the intelligence to assess the bigger picture and analyse things beyond our narrow perspective. I feel in this particular situation of the videos being discussed above, to offer the opposing argument for a moment, Guru Gobind Singh Ji was an enthusiastic proponent of the Persian language, and I think that's maybe used as a justification for some contemporary Sikhs continuing that tradition in various aspects of their own discourse. I think it's a way of honouring and respecting Guru Sahib's tastes. But as you said, taking into account the world we live in and the negative optics for our cause that using Islamic language would have for our own interests, we should be smarter when making these decisions. I'm constantly exasperated at the insular understanding Indian-resident Sikhs possess, in as much as how they fail to understand the impact of the non-Sikh wider world and how it impacts on Sikh issues. Nothing occurs in isolation.
  4. Being sowed? They were sown hundreds of years ago. They are now sprouting. I also resent the implication that wanting to protect and preserve one's race and culture and people is a pejorative rooted in communal xenophobia and race hate. Are Sikhs racist or discriminatory for the agitations undertaken in the 70s and 80s? When Punjab's future demographics are gradually transformed to the point where Sikhs will be surrounded on all sides by hostile non-Sikhs, and future generations will be compelled to rise and combat the forces that desire to see us destroyed, will we be racist or hateful for the pushback? For once, place yourself in someone else's shoes. Don't assume ours is the divine right to act just because of some misplaced sense of superiority, while another group who has the same issues bearing down upon them and are forced to act in pretty much the same manner, are somehow villains because they aren't us. That's an unintelligent and severely narrow understanding of how things work. It's hypocrisy of the highest order.
  5. I just got a tonne of downvote notifications one after the other. Doesn't take a genius to figure out which no-life sheikh is doing it. As if worthless internet points are going to keep me up at night. ?
  6. Slavers use to refer to black males as "boy."
  7. Someone is downvoting all comments that are denouncing dark skin discrimination. ?
  8. As others have mentioned, the Indian aversion for dark skin is idiotic. Probably a hangover from the Varna mentality. I wonder if that's part of the reason why South Indians are a tad hostile to North Indians.
  9. There's a desire on the part of some UK black people to indulge the cultural cache of the historically oppressed blacks of the United States. These types, particularly the leading lights of the movement in the UK, are, ironically, those who are from some of the more privileged backgrounds, but various sources have convinced them that individual distinctions owing to the specific European country in which black people exist -- and that specific country's historical relationship with its black population -- are irrelevant. My theory is it's almost a copy of the Islamic ummah concept. Blackness overrides all distinctions. I wouldn't go as far to say some of them have a persecution complex (the idea that they want to be viewed as oppressed in order to validate their worldview), but the romanticism and almost spiritual mystique afforded to the civil rights movement headed by the likes of Martin Luther King, as well as other notable personalities such as Rosa Parks and Malcolm X (who was obviously not one for peaceful protests), means there's an undoubtedly powerful draw to being considered part of such a global movement even if the European black experience with race-based oppression does not resemble the American experience. It's still definitely a unifying concept that surpasses borders. There's certainly been flashpoints and incidents in Europe between black people and native groups, but the U.S. is another league when it comes to its relationship with its black population. When these demonstrations break out in places such as the UK, it seems very hollow and disingenuous, almost as if it's a mockery of the genuine struggle taking place across the pond. It's very interesting. There's clearly nothing objectionable to standing in solidarity with black brothers across the Atlantic, but to claim the European-based black experience with systemic racism is comparable to the American experience is utterly wrong.
  10. We need to reconsider the idea that karma is exclusively a conduit for punishment. It's as much a method of learning for the positive improvement and growth of the part of us that never dies (and enters a new body), as it is for giving naughty boys and girls their comeuppance. When we go to school to learn, is that a punishment? Of course not (although it may feel like it for some ?). Admittedly, the one thing that most people struggle with is the idea that we must suffer in order to learn and grow, because some of those lessons we require to evolve spiritually are so very harsh. It seems unfair and excessive.
  11. I think it's true. It's been ages since i read it, though.
  12. Correct. Nostradamus also, if I'm not misremembering it, made a prediction about China and India going to war in WW3.
  13. I'm your age or probably younger, Baba ji. You've been chatting shite on this site when I was still blowing candles off birthday cakes, you clown.
  14. I was thinking about this issue yesterday, and I almost blurted out to myself, "Even Somalia have their own country. SOMALIA, for Christ's sake!" ?
  15. The respect and "fear" of long-standing Sikh institutions such as Taksal is virtually nonexistent amongst the Punjabi masses. There won't be a repeat of the events of the 70s and 80s when errant Sikhs who'd succumbed to various life-destroying vices, buckled under the parchaar of the time, and reformed themselves. GOI has ensured the average Sikh views their religious bodies with disdain and indifference. A charismatic leader will not be enough next time to rally the masses. AKJ is a joke outfit in the modern day. They'll be used for further demoralisation and subversion of Sikhs. If the likes of Taksal go after the middling, inoffensive cultural Sikhs with the same zeal as if they were dealing with virulent heretics, there won't be a respectful deferring to religious authority similar to 40 years ago. Those types of Sikhs are long gone. What there will be is a Secular Vs Religious battle which is exactly what the GOI wants to see. Armed with their newfound admiration for the obnoxiously materialistic lifestyle being promoted by various forms of Punjabi entertainment, etc., these people won't tolerate being pushed around by orthodox Singhs. GOI plans for the Khalsa identity to be the sole preserve of what people perceive to be militants or humourless extremists; a tiny, dwindling minority akin to the ultra-orthodox Hasidic Jews who are viewed with disdain by their own people for their excessive religious adherence. The schism in the quom these actions will cause has been in the making for 40-50 years. We are on the verge of seeing it become a reality. But, yes, go for it. Pretend as if there's no difference between a family Lohri celebration and a sweaty, degenerate orgy attended by Punjabi idiots. We'll see where we end up. Whatever the outcome, the popcorn's coming out for me. There's going to be a hot time in the old pind tonight.
  16. The frustrating thing for you is that you know I'm probably as conservative and khattar as you are, but yet you still try and paint me as some kind of secular clown who has a soft spot for these druggie and alkie entertainers and those who idolise them. I don't know what to say. Some people are determined to learn the hard way. You will, eventually.
  17. I'm looking at it from a cultural and religious identity point of view. Equally, I don't think we should be under any misapprehensions that having our own land will automatically solve all our problems. The people will have a huge role to play in increasing prosperity. Loafing around on motorbikes with no purpose, or holing yourself up doing nothing but paath all day isn't going to elevate the nation.
  18. We NEED a Sikh country for our long-term survival. But if it's populated exclusively by the likes of Sheikh AkaliFauj, it'll be another third-world 5hit-hole within 5 years.
