    Quick Fix?

Don't mean to make light of your troubles brother, but not doing anything is why you had a wet dream in the first place. You should maintain conscious control your urges by masturbating every now and then, or your lust will take unconscious control of you, as you've no doubt discovered first hand. Masturbating now and again is not a bujjar kurehat, or even something which should require you to go for pesh. It's a way to tap off some of that pent up frustration, and it's a pretty quick fix. Quicker for some than others, lol
  2. You don't regroup and attack when there are literally two of you left. Especially when you've waited an entire day and allowed your enemies, whose ranks have certainly swelled by now, to get closer and closer to finding you. You'll be finished in seconds. Assuming of course that any of this is true, which I doubt.
  3. Perhaps you could explain what kind of 'terrorists' fight their way into a bloody military base so that they can sit on their bums for an entire day? There were 4 of these so-called 'terrorists'. Waaay too few to orchestrate some hostile takeover of the place, especially when one considers that it is "very very large" according to you. Their only objective could have been to cause maximum chaos - so why would they hide for 24 hours? Hindus really are the worst propagandists in human history. And I always thought lying was the forte of the Brahmins.
  4. Because these hypothetical conscious machines would have been brought into existence by human beings? Is the same not true of us humans brother? God may endow a child with a soul but ultimately the decision to create a child is taken by its parents. The decision by a learned scientist to bring a synthetic being into existence is not so different from this. All that transpires within this universe is Maharaj's Hukam. This is a very tricky philosophical concept, often interpreted by the faithful to mean that God issues rules and commandments, has likes and dislikes, and controls everything like an omnipotent puppeteer. I think its more subtle than that, comparable to a very long line of dominoes. The all powerful one instigates things and sets them into motion, like the human species, and what happens to them thereafter is their own doing. But God as our creator is ultimately responsible for all that we do. God endowed us with the sapience and intelligence which may one day lead us to create artificial intelligence, is it impossible that A.I. therefore falls within the purview of the Hukam? The soul is immaterial, it has no moorings to this physical world. I don't see why it should be incapable of inhabiting (for want of a better word) a body made of metal instead of a body made of meat. We humans have a tendency towards self aggrandizement. It is worth bearing in mind, in anticipation of the next time we feel superior and cocky, that we are little more than meat. God is Almighty, there is nothing stopping him from imbuing an A.I - at the moment when it first flickers to life (as a human embryo does) - with a soul if he so wills it.
  5. Our bazurgs are notorious for being gullible and ignorant of everything - it was hardly some Machiavellian undertaking on the part of the young Dhadrianwale to get those fools to bow before him. They should be just as ashamed of themselves and their pitiful behavior as Bhai Sahib should be for having accepted it.
  6. Addressing social issues and welcoming monas is all very well, but these will be for nothing if they are not carried out IN ENGLISH. The reason attendance at our Gurdware is not as high as it should be is because contemporary Sikh parents and grandparents have failed in their duty to educate their children about Sikhi and their Punjabi mother tongue. And when the Gurdwara's primary method of disseminating information is linguistic, it's no wonder that so many don't want to go, why would they? This is the central issue here and it will not be addressed for as long as those old, irrelevant farts continue to clog up the committees and insist on using our Guru Ghars as battlefields for their petty squabbles (with no English subtitles for the kids). It would also help if our Granthis and Raagis could speak English, as people tend to go them with their questions. Kudos to Big Tera Veerji for taking steps to address this problem- as I sit behind a laptop mouthing off. The Sikh people, myself included, could benefit from feeling some shame. I'm going to try and do more in 2016.
  7. Our ancestors didn't get much right when they were compiling the great Punjabi code of ethics, but they were exactly right with this. Amidst the sexism, casteism and superstition, the prohibition against intra-surname marriage stands out as an example of their remarkable prescience. I mean, the basic biological fact that incest is bad still eludes over 1 billion Muslims across North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia to this day.
  8. Unfortunately breakfast presents a grim landscape for vegetarians, lol, most decent breakfast food items are meat products. The veggie alternatives quickly become repetitious. I try and get it over with as quickly as I can by lobbing some milk, whey powder and steamed oats into a pint glass and chugging the nasty mixture. Just have an excellent lunch and dinner to compensate for your ruined morning.

    Protein Powder

Most Sikhs are vegetarian, not vegan. Karah prashad and the langar incorporate dairy products.
  10. A lot of dhal, but mostly dairy products - milk, cheese/paneer, whey powder and yoghurt. I think that protein from animal sources is just easier for the human body to assimilate. I started lifting exactly two years ago and became a vegetarian about 5 months into my programme. I was pretty much clueless about nutrition at the time, and I was horrified when all my noob gains started vanishing. So I looked some things up on the internet, learned that dairy was probably a better source of protein than the saag and dhal which had been my staples since becoming veggie, and made the appropriate changes to my diet immediately. Most of my old mass returned very quickly - could probably be attributed to muscle memory. Also helped to have a couple more protein shakes.
  11. I did, and it would be no exaggeration to say that I suffered from withdrawal effects - I was hungry and tired all the time. Was also totally clueless about what I now had to eat, so a lot of mass dropped off almost instantaneously. Addressed the problem by eating more intelligently, and much more regularly, every 2 hours at least.
  12. Do you live in the Punjab? Some urban Punjabis have a reputation for directing their sneering contempt at those of us with rural backgrounds. I'm also surprised that you've encountered so many amritdharis among them - In my experience, many of them are full of self-loathing, the first to shun all trappings of their faith and Punjabiyaat in order to ingratiate themselves into the wider Indian Hindi-speaking mainstream. No, they are not right. Just ignore them brother. Who cares what they think of you? It is only for Guru Sahib to say whether your faith in them is genuine. I myself used to be a mona and was confronted with this sort of nonsense by other Sikhs. I told them that whereas they had been born into Gursikh households and had Sikhi handed to them on a platter, I had to struggle against the wishes and expectations of my family and those closest to me to find it, to fight against all their bullying and their blackmail. I told them I had to fight for my Sikhi, make sacrifices for it. That would promptly shut them up. Try it for yourself.
  13. I'm sorry if I burst anyone's bubble but other than the legumes (nuts and beans), the amount of protein in vegetable food is so insignificant as to be useless for anyone trying to build a lot of lean muscle. There are a lot of very misleading tables and posters fabricated by vegan advocacy groups going about the internet. You're going to have to fall passionately in love with dairy products to have any chance of building a lot of lean muscle as a vegetarian. If you drink 3 pints of semi-skimmed milk a day, 3 scoops of whey powder mixed with water, and eat some kind of paneer dish each evening, with nuts and dhal throughout the day when you're feeling peckish, you'll easily break the 100+ daily grams of protein needed to bulk up significantly. Saag simply doesn't cut it.
  14. Your contention is a very weird one. Who are these 'non-turban' Sikhs whose works supposedly comprises the majority of Maharaj's Bani? Each of the Gurus and most of the Bhagats were Kesdhari. Besides which, what is this 'turban community' which you allude to? Turban wearers aren't part of some Star Trek Hive mind, sharing the same beliefs and outlooks. I'd advise you to read Gurbani before making such boldly preposterous claims about it. I'd also suggest that you read a dictionary. Not to say that whole affair wasn't shameful, but a twelve year old boy is categorically not an infant.
  15. This young man's beard is besides the point. There is a certain bullying atmosphere prevailing at these 'Sikhi camps' where, for a week or so, kids are left for hours at a time with sanctimonious sevadars who guilt trick them into making ill-informed decisions they will regret when they leave on Sunday. I mean come on, the OP has been an Amritdhari for three years and he still doesn't seem to have ever heard the word amritdhari (amritshakt is not a noun) - the sevadars and the boy's parents clearly didn't do their job properly. We need to confront the reality that these camps are not producing very many well-informed and well-adjusted young Gursikhs, mostly clueless young kids pressured into conformity and lifelong commitments that they will inevitably come to regret. Guilt is not a good foundation for faith, and Guru's Amrit has to be taken into one's heart willingly. You were never willing veerji, just malleable. If you believe that you can live with becoming a Patit (dare I say, Google it?) remove your kes brother. But I would advise you to read about Sikhi. Start attempting to understand the Bani rather than just muttering it, read about the history of your people, which no other nation of this earth comes close to matching in point of valor and sacrifice. After that, you may find that taking Amrit was the best decision you ever made.
  16. Veerji, this bloke has done exactly that, and without passing through the usual 3HO conduit as other white Singhs and Singhniaan have done.
  17. What trite. Sunny Hundal is once again massaging the superiority complex of the white man by fortifying his ignorant perceptions of South Asian men. Our society is not patriarchal, it's clearly matriarchal. Everyone knows that the mother/ mother in-law runs the show in the average UK Punjabi household, whilst her henpecked husk of a husband sits quietly in the corner with his Famous Grouse. Different story back in the Punjab of course.
  18. Please don't conflate Gursikhi with the Punjabi culture.

    Protein Powder

Don't see why not, although whey protein does the job just fine.
  20. I understand veerji. Badal is indeed a fiend and one of the greatest threats to Sikhi today - but his inciting the Indian government to attack Sri Harmandir Sahib isn't the same thing as his rise to prominence. He'd already secured the position of Punjab CM and served two terms by 1980 alone. Leaving marinated birds outside peoples' houses? Those are the most underwhelming sociopaths I've ever heard of.
  21. Badal didn't attain his position through scheming veerji, he was raised into it atop the shoulders of our own people - we voted him in. He's nothing more than a mirror being held up to the face of our qaum, in which we can behold our own ruined reflection. The trouble with our lot is that nothing ever gets done until a Sant Jarnail Singh, or a Bhai Rajoana, or a Bapu Surat Singh decides to take some action on our behalf, at which point we become hysterical and rally around them only to forget all about them sooner or later - When was the last time you heard anything of Bapu Surat Singh, or Bhai Rajoana? Sant Ji spoke about this propensity towards servility within the psyche of the modern Sikh - he lamented, at length, how Singhs would appear before him whenever some beadbi was perpetrated asking to be told what to do rather than taking it upon themselves to act. That is why these masands were in power so long veerji. We need to be careful to ensure that the accomplishments of the Sarbat Khalsa are not undone, that they don't slide away into obscurity.
