My government wants me to support these guys.......who would probably (at best) want to enslave people like us, or at worst try and do what their recent ancestors did to others in concentration camps set up in these very regions.

Thing is, many diaspora apnay raised from the 90s onwards seem to have a false perception of this truth because they grew up in one of those short periods where things weren't as bad as they usually are. I think a lot of them would be in somewhat of a shock (given apparent global realities) now? It's like their minds are ill-prepared for what you mention.

I think you're on the ball here. Create problems and then come in as the solution. Cause havoc in general by bolstering both sides. Fund both sides in war too and profit. Joseph Heller in his famous book about WW2, Catch 22 outlines this. Plus he was Jewish (as well as in the US army aircorps) too, so he had inside info.

I don't think these things are comparable. In even a small scale conflict now, you'll be dealing with air support (i.e. helicopters). Knowing formations and tactics, anti aircraft weapons, autos and semi autos is a must. People have thermal scopes nowadays. Long range snipers. These things have to be accounted for.

It's not uncommon. It seems to be a character/trait?

That only lasts for so long. Don't get arrogant about it. New generations come up. Boundaries get retested for ignorance and complacency by animals, who can not control themselves. Living off laurels only lasts so long.

We can excuse away anything and everything with that type of thinking.

That's normal for apnay gatherings. Strange times we live in where every little tussle gets broadcast and viral. lol!!
