  1. I thought about it, I think the boar's blood in Amrit is unlikely and probably just early european propaganda/exaggeration.
  2. I would have thought in this day and age, where everyone uses the Interweb to do research, they'd be hard pressed not to encounter alterative points of views?
  3. Remember the 'independent' is owned by arabs now. They've been putting out a few antiSikh things.
  4. "This is how we say goodbye in Austria." Shame no one told Adolph.
  5. Many apnay bhangra singers will do anything for paisa.
  6. Bhai Maharaj Singh ji had a conch shell with him when he was captured by the brits. Also, I think they used them for signalling in battle.
  7. And then people wonder why people like me think Panjabi music culture is shyte.......
  8. And also, some of us know what we are talking about from rubbing shoulders with who we are talking about, sometimes over many decades. But I get one point, Panjabis do have a lot to sort out amongst themselves too.
  9. I agree. But the introduction of alien victorian/abrahamic thinking into the panth can't be denied.
  10. It's even mentioned in Prem Sumarag, which goes back at least (verifiably) to the early 1800s (if not earlier).
  11. I think a lot of this is true. I think Singh Sabha lehar standardised things due to western influence, in a way that wasn't natural to pre-colonial Sikhs maybe?
  12. This is a worldwide phenomena. Even I have to check myself from it. I think it also relates to the bullying culture we were talking about in the bullying against young Amritdharis in Canada.
  13. The following is an extract from a statement given by Wedger (thanks to Premi for finding it!): https://www.iicsa.org.uk/key-documents/21478/view/INQ004929_001-004_009_024-029_030_038-039_040-048.pdf
  14. I think the Irish are top of that list. They were openly being abused even when I was a kid (for being thick).
  15. I think what you are saying is highly plausible too. Especially given how one author made up something about feeding hindus beef and then retracted the statement. It's obvious that the first goray to mix with Singhs were both in awe and fearful of them. Also jealous as hell.
  16. I've seen that happen in umpteen locations. People who fought racist whites or grooming gangs becoming blacklisted for employment and then falling into crime to make ends meet. Then this takes another trajectory.
  17. You're emitting pu55y vibes at a 10 mile radius. lol And you don't got sh1t to say about anything, let alone experiences.
  18. @GurjantGnostic Bro, can you see how this relates to the recent convos on other forums with tonday pretending they are Sikhs even today!
  19. Logically, it would be likely that informants would be trying to infiltrate for rewards. I think it says a lot about the openness of the Khalsa that they even allowed certain people to convert given the circumstances. Even if they put in extra precautionary measures.
  20. Just call me brother. That's a big enough honour that I probably don't even deserve from some of you guys.
  21. Bhai ji, it might also just be simply down to the legacy of getting nutrition at a time when they were scarce?
  22. I think both were done (and other things). What's been recorded might be a very minority practice that could be argued was rational given the mass genocides and hordes of informants of the time? Obviously it wasn't a majority practice.
