  1. Do one at time. However, Shant / Bir rass both must b maintained. So after Sehaj of SGGS be sure to read the banias, along with starting Dasam Granth, rather than focusing purely on DG... Keep the energy of Shant rass up is what am saying. A recommendation, if you plan to study/ do DG an hour a day, do 10 mins of SGGS. Or if 2 hours then 20 mins SGGS / Naam Simran. Both will go hand in hand.
  2. NO! Even Amritdhari shop owners handle wine, beers and nicotine. NOTHING WRONG! Consumption is a different matter.
  3. Do 1 at least Japji Sahib with full concentration. Whether yer mind translates it in Punjabi or English pr any other language don't matter. Try for only 2 weeks n see how it goes. Best of luck.
  4. It's good you didn't confront. Just let it go. He went to Matha tek, NEVER stop anyone from doing that. I understand drunk people go too t Matha tek. Highly debatable but they're doing a bhalla wala job.
  5. Agreed with JKV. Go for dump at home before going Guru Ghar for Tabia d seva. It is to show 98% soochm whilst sat at Tabia.
  6. I believe Maharaaj went all the way to explain why to keep away from Maya. For another example, "Do not even touch alcohol bottle." If Maharaaj said "Well, I suppose u can touch only..." We Sikhs would've been obviously drinking it, too! (we're only clever to go around Rehat/ direct hukams). SO! Do not fall for Maya! Here's why. Do not touch, pull out single hair from body, look at opposite sex in s3xual manner... It's about going to the root o the problem n pulling it out once and for all! But yes, this Bani is for Khalsa.
  7. You read translation but did u read actual style of Baani? So a normal manukh had that kinda brain to write in that style? Tenth Guru Ji IS the author and... Dasam Granth is meant for the Khalsa. It's like, reading Maya without touching Maya... Or seeing fire, and touch fire? That'll b foolish! So, can you read without Maya entering your mind? If yes thas a pure Khalsa right there. Maharaaj explains lacchan of Maya and why we must keep away.
  8. From personal experience, it is possible u sin in the morning and Karma comes biting you before nightfall, same day! I strongly believe it happened to me on 1st September 2010. TRUST! You don't forget dates like that! Of course there is the good ol' rational explanation... But my heart??? I know it deep down. Japji Sahib states "Aape beech, aape he kaho." So bad things happen to us for past / this life reasons, no matter how good / careful we been. Yes Naam Jap will erase / reduce the price of Karma, BUT do not make Naam Jap into a license to eradicate your sinful doings. Don't work that way.
  9. Many people ask "100 Japji Sahibs per day!? Where the time for that?" According to Giani Takhur Singh, do 5 with purest concentration then 25 will automatically happen on its own,no matter where / wha yer doing (off by heart is a MUST)! Then 25 to 100! BUT... I reiterated something now u know. So am here to mention, stick with one something and do it! If you have iccha to manage 100 Japji Sahibs, wake Amritvela n do ONE! Do it dead slow, like "Ik O-ankaar... Ik t k matlab hunda?" Or Hukam rjai chalna, Nanak Likhia naal. Hukam jani k command..." REPEAT these thoughts out loud! Extremely quickly you'll b doing 5 with purest concentration, accordimg to Giani Takhur Singh Ji. I'd like to share my thing. My thing's not 100 Japji Sahibs, it's something entirely different. Long ago my friend told me "So n so jathe did 7 Baania, 2 Sukhmani Sahibs and 2.5 hours of meditation / Other Baanias!" I heard this in 2009 but did something about it in 2018! I guess this rehat touched my heart (a book will confirm the Jathas' rehat)!!! So since 2018 I been doing one Sukhmani Sahib and 1.5 hours Naam jap on top o 7 Baanis... It feels awesome! Concentration is a MUST and this Anandpurbic state will touch you in so many ways. SO! Whatever rehat you hear, one will surely to your heart. Maybe it's "Do one Maala mool mantar with concentration. If u failed an iota of concentration, DO NOT turn the Maala!" Maybe it's"Do 7 Baanias and one Shabd Hazare" THIS REHAT! Can literally be ANYTHING. So, how do YOU know which Rehat is it? IT'S the one your mind keeps going back to. THAT rehat or discipline is for you! Maharaaj's calling out, pushing u into that Naam Jaap, whichever form it may b in. It can even b Seva at Gurudwara whilst reciting one prayer. Once you do it, Kirpa will happen. Also, following this Sangat, Simran and Seva across seven days is a good starting point! Or if u tried many things but feel like that wasn't for u, start on "That thing" on your mind and progress on it. Start by halving it (as what I been doing)... You want some of it, right?
  10. Nothing wrong provided you both are JUST friends.

AH! Yes. You're referring to thiaar bur thiaar Singhnia here. TBH am not tbt myself. If I was I would've learned Shaster Vidiya. So every morning going to work, few men may decide to attack me but I will have a good chance. But if that happened tomorrow??? I'll b flat on my back in 0.5 sec! Why? I haven't learned Shastar Vidiya (or any form of Martial Arts) as according to Guru Sahib, we should!

    Help plz.

No to future gens being saved even if they fail to Naam Jap. Wha happens is, future gens are actually Bhagats themselves. HOWEVEEERRR... YOU must reach a Sant Level yourself! NOT just take Amrit and thas it, the end. After Amrit it's Sangat, Simran, Seva and staying under Hukam. THEN future gens are guaranteed to become Bhagats themselves... (more or less).
  14. Au Kaka Ji! Pehla asi apne Shastr Vidiya t sikhley eh! Bakhia d ideology baad'ch Sikhi jao g!
  15. AH! But how much Sangat, Simran and Seva do Westerns do? Kes rakhlia, Amrit shklia, The End!??
  16. Be sure to visit London and Birmingham. As for Sikh history? Royal Albert Hall in London and Victoria museum. East Midlands part is full of Countryside and parks. Rockingham Castle and Nottingham Castle are close by.

JUST ADDING am a male... Congrats on telling the guy off! We need more strong minded Gursikhs as such. This don't mean tell off people that criticise you. NO! But when they thaup their baseless ideology on you FIREY AA! Bhenji here asked "Why" heard the baseless comment n told him how it is.

    Unwanted hair

AH! Between us I loathe Gursikhs who force ANYONE into baptism for the sake of society. PEOPLE reading this! Learn from the mistake of people forcing onto others of baptism. Unfortunately it happens A LOT. PEOPLE! If you have young children do the MINIMUM; Keep their hair, teach them Sikhi, make them listen to 10 mins Katha, make them listen to Paat ON A DAILY BASIS FOR 10 MINS!!!Once they reach a certain age GIVE THEM THE CHOICE. They know Sikhi and they know the Worldly stuff. LET THEM MAKE THE CHOICE!!! Whether they go mone, baptism or atheist you can say one thing! I TRIED. You will b rewarded. But if u force yer scarring YOUR kids for life! Nahi shdn joge nahi rakhn joge. PEOPLE! And why do u go to random mone n ask "Kes kdo rakhne?" YOU really think it's ANY of yer business? YOU think they dumb that they do not know? "Amrit shko!" Yeah?? Two years later it's "Tu kaun mai kaun?" BHAJI! Take it from me... Forced baptism is THEE problem in our society.
  20. All I kno is burying may take up land but thanks to human remains we have a better understanding of Human/ animal history. Recovery of buried artefacts/ old stuff gives us understanding of historical culture.
  21. Hi. Sikh against and other Caste/ religion for? This is extremely common... It's ALWAYS the Sikh parents going against. NEVER the other side's parents. First of all, Sikh parents who do not teach Gurmat at home and expect their adult kids to follow Sikhi? THIS is what you face with. No paat, no Sakhis, no nothing to your kid toddlers, no katha - AND the excuse of "What will others think of us?" Honey! (am refering to such Sikh Parents) what will Akaal Purkh say once you die? No paat, no gurmat, no Sakhi - NOW u expect yer kids to obey??? LET YOUR KIDS LIVE THEIR LIFE!!! OF COURSE! If you do all that n yer adult kids don't follow Sikhi? YOU TRIED. You have the audacity to say you tried. Oh, and as far as "What will others say/ society say?" LOL U really think society / closed ones have not spoken behind your back???? BACK TO TOPIC! Best thing to do, you guys should go ahead with marriage his parents will come around... They always do.
