Some1 who works with me told me, person who told me isnt really clued up about Sikhi and Politics, all she cud say was how well the gora done the Larmair (fool). Is this ocurring alot shud we contact this Gurdwara ??
  2. ..sudden weight loss is another reason. You could try takeing iron tablets or 7 seas cod liver oil (though it is disgusting) But im telling you give yoga a go. I was agianst when i first saw it as i thought was some bogus brain washing ritual and i was wrong . I have benifited from it in many ways hair was one.
  3. God isnt trying to tell you anything, reasons for hair loss are: Lack of sleep stress ageing un-blanaced diet herietgty You could try the nail rubbing exercise as shown by that yoga guy it does work ive tried it myself.
  4. The Legends of Rakhi Origin The Shravana or the monsoon month carries all hues and shades of nature and emotions. Religiously speaking Shravan is a pious month and full moon of this all-important month is considered to be a very holy day. It is celebrated in different ways for different reasons almost throughout the country. For the siblings it is the eternal tie of love, for Brahmins the day to take the pledge of Brahmanik rites and for those who depend sea and monsoon, it is the beginning of the new season. Indian festivals are based on the weather changes and their significance in the lives of people but they do have a story to support the celebrations. The rich Indian Mythology provides a religious reason to celebrate the day in a specific way. Many epics are related to the day and the origin of Raksha Bandhan. The festival finds a mention in most of the epics and its origin can be traced back to the mythological Pouranik times.
  5. Brilliant. This what we need more eudcated Sikhs who can challenage these scum bags
  6. Most sikh will rember shaeeds like bhagat singh, udam singh. Sikhs over the world dont dont go over board bout india being free only the above.
  7. My concern is that all some people on this forum seem to do is attempt to arouse prejudices in our families/community by labeling the Muslim community as something Sikhs fear, hate, loathe and find undesirable. Why is it everytime we post anything to do with the Muslim community reporting it focuses on the stereotypical traits that the reader expects, even though they are far from being representative of the whole community? Below is a wikpedia definition for the term "propaganda". As responsible individuals, perhaps we should question whether some of the current direct anti muslim/hindu stuff being preached by a few of our UK youth fall in this category? Propaganda is a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of large numbers of people. Instead of impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. The most effective propaganda is often completely truthful, but some propaganda presents facts selectively to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the cognitive narrative of the subject in the target audience. The best thing for you to do is to go and spend time with a family whose daughter has run off with one or converted, preflerby 2-3 days after it occurring. You wanna see the state of these people, or you can imgaine the state of them. Its like someones died well many people have died in fact. Some loose their minds, heavy crying, suicidal, being sick and depressed. ..Then go round looking for fancy definitions on the internet.
  8. I we start seeing Gurus as the same suit as God then we going down the same roads as some Hindus. Who see everything and everyone as God. I havent got acess at the moment but will in a few hours but Guru Gobind Singh said something along the lines of "those who see me as God shall burn in hell"
  9. With this subject i feel there is no propagander. Its all true. The people who say its propergander ,are the ones who dont to want belive it cos it so upsetting. They cant handle it so they brush under the carpet. WAKE UP.
  10. Dude I don't know bani off by heart and I don't like to read one line either cos you gotta understand contexts in which things are said. If you disagree with anything I have written then discuss that with me. I see no problemo by using incense sticks, fancy rumallai, or photos....IDOLISING is if we suddenly decided the photo was God and forgot shabad is Guru..I've never met a single person who spends all day looking at a photo or throwing tuff into the air saying they were praying...cos thats just idolizing and not learning anything real. Again im saying it, this messageboard's about opinion's and the points you have addressed are valuable. The main reason for this post was to some answer's and keep them coming lol WGJKK WGJKF

  12. ਆਪ ਹੀ ਪੂਜਾਰੀ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਵਾ ॥੩॥ आप ही पूजारी आप ही देवा ॥३॥ He Himself is the worshipper, and He Himself is the idol Guru Arjan Dev
  13. Everyone has got an opinion on here, this is a message board, I just want your view's and if your questioning my knowledge of baani, who are you to tell me.
  14. try to understand something before criticizing it. the scent makes the room smell nice, it also keeps the bugs away Ok I understand where your coming from, but how about looking from the other side when people use it around photo's of Guru's.
  15. I just wanted your opinion on what is categorized as idolizing in Sikhi. Idolizing definitions: An image used as an object of worship. One that is adored, often blindly or excessively. Something visible but without substance ਮਹਲਾ 5 ॥ Those who fall at the feet of a stone (idol) – their work is wasted in vain. (1) My Lord and Master speaks forever. God gives His gifts to all living beings. (1) (Pause) The spiritually blind one does not recognize that the Divine Lord is within us. Deluded by doubt, he is more and more caught up in the noose. The stone does not speak; it does not give anything to anyone. (Bathing the stone and asking it to eat food etc) – Such religious rituals are useless; such service is fruitless, (no reward is found in this service). (2) If a corpse is anointed with sandalwood oil, what good does it do for the dead corpse? If a corpse is rolled in manure, what does the dead corpse lose from this? (3) Says Kabeer, I proclaim this out loud behold, and understand, ‘O ignorant and stupid people who are separated from the Lord! Understand and see, leaving the Lord and placing love in other things (i.e. the love of duality) has ruined countless homes. Only those are forever in bliss who are the Lord's devotees. (4.4.12) (P. 1160, SGGS) You could argue that portraying guru ji's photo's in gurdwara's and in our homes is a way of idolising. Another instance which is very common is the use of "toof" (candle scent). If this is a way of carrying out "dolizing" why do gursikhs use it and how has it become so powerful in gurdwareh. Another area which I have identified and which I would like all gursikhs to voice their opinion's on are "fancy rumaleh", this shows to a degree that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is being treated as an idol. 16. Dudley College hasnt got the best of reputations with majority of muslims going there, nd recently som bad feedback about Halesowen College was given, with some sikh girls going off with muslim guys.
  17. I just wanted to clear that lets not forget this is also happening with the male gender, we should do whatever can be done to help Sikhi in these situations.
  18. This type of stuf is happening everyday, where sikh girls have been mentioned converting to Islam, the above case mentioned could be classed in the same frame. Converting to Islam is obviously going to be seen as a worse case scenario due to the history of the mughal's and the current situation, but we have to also do something to stop other areas and issues effecting Sikhi.
  19. The sikh kaum will do what they can to make sure this doesnt happen again.

  21. This is a disgrace, something has to be done, other wise it looks like they will continue to brain wash people.
  22. WJKK WJKF Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the "Sikhs" everlasting living Guru. WJKK WJKF
  23. WJKK WJKF You may be intrested to know that Darhan Das's son, So called "Mahraz" Tarlochan Darshan Das is following his father. I should have mentioned this earlier in the post, or you may already know if you are "followers". Below is the link: http://www.dasdharamonline.com/present-head.htm Read the link below if you are "not a follower" of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, because you should gain some type of knowledge from this, although it is brief: http://www.sikhs.org/granth.htm WJKK WJKF
  24. WJKK WJKF Its simple if you don't follow Guru Granth Sahib Ji as your Guru, then you cannot be called a Sikh. Also if anyone on this forum follows Darshan Das, Radha Soami... then I would very intrested to read how you got trapped into it. WJKK WJKF
