What are the main beliefs of Sikhism?
RajKaregaKhalsa1 replied to Big_Tera's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Naam japo Chant the naam of God and praise him Kirat Karo Work and honest living (no cheating, stealing etc.) Vand ke chako Share before consuming (food, money etc.) And to help you do these 3 things you have Bani, Bana, Seva and Simran -
Is that why Bhai Bachittar Singh ji was able to pierce an elephant with Guru Sahib's Barcha? I don't think anything has even come close to that
-
Waheguru ji gives you cards based on your karams. It's up to you how you use these cards (so we have free will but it is within bhana Waheguru ji's hukam).
-
Yeah we can't choose the people who will take amrit, only Guru Sahib can give it. It is a blessing. Some of the people should stop saying chaklo chaklo to people because it can become a guilt trip.

Why didn't Guru make everyone Sikh?
RajKaregaKhalsa1 replied to mahandulai's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Sorry I didn't mean to say Sikhi is not the best. Obviously Sikhi is the supreme path don't get that wrong (since we have langar, a pure Granth etc.) I was just saying that Guru doesn't care what you are (since religion is sometimes just a label) and will give you the same message and is open to all for advice and correct way to live your life. -
I'm pretty sure that there was thread on this (which you made) a few weeks ago

http://www.sikhsaaj.com A Taus is £2000!

Yeah I didn't mean that I meant like using the Harmonium since that can't really play raag like most raagis do now. Sorry didn't phrase it correctly. Obviously filmy tunes shouldn't be used to
-
The reason for raag is because music opens the heart and raag is very strong and makes you feel a specific emotion and Guru Sahib wants you to get than emotion e.g. hope (raag Asa) and pair that with singing of Waheguru ji's praises. It doesn't really matter if raag is used is not because it matters if you really mean what you say It's sounds better than harmonium though

Guru is a doctor and doesn't care what religion we are but if we are following Waheguru with a pure heart People may not want to leave their religion so you shouldn't force them and every Saint follows the path of the saints where you take away your ego and embrace humility and it shows that Guru is accepting to take shelter to anyone -

Bhai Sahib here talks about how some pracharaks are not really spreading the message of who Waheguru ji is and how it is being corrupted by different people so it seems like God doesn't matter. Really recommend the video and the channel they make quite good content and you can trust that they are sticking to Gurbani and our history not some modernised, corrupted thinking. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ -
Brother how are you saying that. Do you not feel any sympathy of what happened. They tried to kill off Sikhi and do you not understand how hideous it was

Just if you wanted to know. He has released an apology video and has gone Pesh. He has accepted his mistake.

Aren't we all feminists since a feminist is just someone who believes that men and women are equal so yeah But extreme feminism is not good as they spread hate

What are the biggest issues in Sikhi today?
RajKaregaKhalsa1 replied to mahandulai's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Youth, just get them involved teach them and they will make everything better It's good to see that one of my local Gurdaware started doing a hour Q&A session in the other building (finally lol) and started focusing more on kids with Santhiya, kirtan, Punjabi Gurmukhi clases etc. There is even GCSE maths class ? and technology for elders -
Just something interesting I think in Jahangir's mughal chronicles - sorry I definitely do not know what the book is called (correct me) - he talks about how Guru Arjan Dev ji went through a Shaheedi and he called him a Hindu. Hindu is just Persian for South of the river Indus This guy explains it better than me
-
Hinduism is a culture of many different religions Difference with Sikhi - as JkvLondon said - there is no caste system and the reason why Sikhi was created is (as Bhai Gurdas Ji puts it) the world was crying out and Waheguru ji in his compassion (and sadness to see people suffer) sent Guru Nanak to this Earth to give us the full truth - not just a bit of truth found in every other religion.

DO Sikhs always play the victim?
RajKaregaKhalsa1 replied to mahandulai's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Well Dallysingh101 knows more than me, I'm not that old so doesn't really matter what I say But I agree with what DallySingh is saying about how we have been played as fools Not sure if we can call ourselves victims -
DO Sikhs always play the victim?
RajKaregaKhalsa1 replied to mahandulai's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Well our people become Shaheed and were brutally murdered man and woman were raped etc. Horrible! We haven't even been told how many were actually killed and with the more information that the Panth collects, we see that it becomes worse and worse https://youtu.be/NH-Q-lEBf8M To answer your question we are not playing the victim since we want justice for basic human rights being violated, we're not trying to get people to cry for us or anything but help us show the world that some people are just sick and corrupt
